A Family Tree

Hello, Dear Ones! Hope you all are doing fine. Well, I'm continuing to cross stitch and wanted to share another one with you. My family tree!

Isn't this so cute? I have a habit of tearing out pages from cross stitch magazines after a while since those magazines can really pile up. So...I was going through some of my patterns to find my next project and there this little family tree was saying, "Me! Me! Stitch me!" So I did.
I think the design is so fun and whimsical. I put our surname in the frame at the bottom of the tree.
Mr. Precious on the left and me on the right. Our son, Mel and his wife continuing up the left hand side.
Above my name you'll see our daughter and her husband's names. Then our two grands, Carter and Camp. To make it a little more fun I added the names of our two dogs that our kids grew up with, Bones and Sugar, both lovely little Boston Terriers. I tried to add little paws to their boxes but the paws look more like bird feet! :) Oh, well, you know how talented I am! :D
My little initials and the year. I completed this before the Covid mess started so no little cross on this one. Now I'm off to find a frame! I love to cross stitch. Have I told you that before?

I do pray you are all well and staying safe. We think we've almost got to a starting normal and then we all get knocked back a bit. But, dear ones, regardless, our God is in control and we have to trust him.

Oh, Mr. Precious and I went to our first restaurant a few weeks ago and it was such a treat! Red Lobster! I love my popcorn shrimp and this felt so special since we've not been out like this in so long!!
We went early but as you can see they had everyone spaced out really well. We were sitting at the right across from the empty ones.
I never need a menu in Red Lobster because I always get popcorn shrimp and of course those cheddar cheese biscuits! Yummy!

Popcorn shrimp for me and salmon and shrimp for Mr. Precious!
Oh, and the ending to a perfect early evening - snapping a bathroom beauty snap just for you.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Catfish - not quite 'shrimp' but fish :)
Lazy stadium night
catfish on the mound.
"strike three," the umpire said,
batter have to go back and sit down.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Used to work on mr. finley's farm
but the old man wouldn't pay
so he packed his glove and took his arm
an' one day he just ran away.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Come up where the yankees are,
dress up in a pinstripe suit,
smoke a custom-made cigar,
wear an alligator boot.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Carolina born and bred,
love to hunt the little quail.
got a hundred-acre spread,
got some huntin' dogs for sale.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Reggie jackson at the plate
seein' nothin' but the curve,
swing too early or too late
got to eat what catfish serve.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Even billy martin grins
when the fish is in the game.
every season twenty wins
gonna make the hall of fame.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.

  1. That sampler is a stunner. So beautiful, Shelia and such a lot of work. A wonderful family tree to be sure.

  2. Shelia, I loved your needlework. beautiful. Speaking of beauty, you and your hubby look adorable. Ted and I love Red Lobster too. We have not been for the longest time. We do the drive thru for D.Q. but not going inside tlll Ted is allowed by his drs. Glad you had a sweet time with your husband. Blessings to you both, xoxo, Susie

  3. Love your sampler! Look forward to seeing it framed.

  4. Oh, my goodness, dear one! YUM! Red Lobster!!! One of my favs to go to with my daughters. It's been so long. We usually go a few times during Lenten fridays, but you know that didn't happen this year. Funny just yesterday we craved deep fried fish so I actually got out of the house and we went to one of our favorite really cheap drive up curbside diners - do you have Swensons in your area? You get a 12 piece dinner, with roll, fries (or for me I get onion rings) and cole slaw or apple sauce for $6.95!!!! You stay in your car, a masked runner takes your order, you wait, then a masked runner brings it out. We don't stay to eat in car b/c it is only 10 minutes from the house, so we take home and eat it. Like dining out only super safe.

Now- to give you compliments on your cross stick family tree- it is AMAZING! You are so super talented! I have missed you and your sweet face. Big hugs and lots of prayers.

Stay well, my musical sewing friend! ♥ ♫

  5. The sampler is stunning and will look amazing framed. How nice to get out to eat we haven't ventured out to do that yet but we are hopefull it will be soon.
