Dogs At The Manger

Hello, Dear Ones! Well it's time to start my Christmasing and I thought I would start with The Finn.
Have you ever wondered if dogs were in the stable when Jesus was born? You don't have to wonder any more...here they are! My Staffies decided they all wanted to come and celebrate Jesus' birth!

They were so excited to come and worship the King of Kings. Some were bringing gifts. Some just brought their cute little selfs. But all were excited and there was no growling or nipping or pawing at one another. They were all on their most perfect behavior.
They were all in awe as they stood before the new born King Jesus.
Stars twinkled in the background and they were just so thrilled to be part of the Nativity.
You know I'm a silly, a very old silly! My Staffies have been crammed on a tabletop and almost hidden out of sight since we have lived in our new to us house and I had a bright idea - poke them all on The Finn! This may be too gawdy or overboard for some but I think I like it. You can see a white porcelain Nativity smack in the center of all of the dogs. There is one little strand of colored twinkly lights among the dogs.

The Christmasing has begun...

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Do You Hear What I Hear?

Said the night wind to the little lamb,
do you see what I see
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
do you see what I see
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,
do you hear what I hear
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,
do you hear what I hear
A song, a song, high above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea
With a voice as big as the sea

Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
do you know what I know
In your palace warm, mighty king,
do you know what I know
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Let us bring Him silver and gold

Said the king to the people everywhere,
listen to what I say
Pray for peace, people everywhere!
listen to what I say
The Child, the Child, sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light

~ sung by my Staffies

  8. Sheila this is ADORABLE!! Love it. I have always put one dog at our manger scene, it looks like my beloved Gypsy. I started doing that when Gypsy was still with us. Now it is even more precious. I always told our kids ANY ANIMALS, and yes, dogs and cats etc.--would worship the baby Jesus. Dogs are so smart--they would surely sense and know it was a big big big occurance, right!? Love your decor and hope your holiday season is going well so far!
