Dear Ones, I have some great news to share with you today! You all know about Tang and her foam board mini house. Well, she was getting so very lonely and placed an ad in the Cat Mews Daily. You can read her ad above. The ad paid off and she wanted a mommy and just got adopted before Christmas.
Meet Lola! She was looking for the perfect kitty and when she read Tang's ad and saw her snap, she fell in love with her. Lola had just bought a big ole new house and needed a companion to share it with. They have had the best time decorating for Christmas.
The new living room. Tang brought along some of her furniture from the mini foam board house. There is so much to do - hang pictures, make curtains. Lola got a good deal on free wallpaper printed right off the computer. She had the paper hangers come and do their job!
Lola loves music and plays the piano like I do. She sang and played for Tang! Needless to say, Tang was in new mommy new home heaven.
They both were enjoying each others company so much. Lola rested after all the Christmasing and Tang played with her toys before the new fireplace that needs to be painted. They didn't have a fire because they don't have any wood. But it's toasty inside. Then there is Lola's kitchen! Oh, she has a wonderful eat in kitchen. Tang just never left her side.
Lola is a wonderful cook and she was always baking and making special things for Tang to eat. Tang has her own stool so she can watch!
So the kitchen stayed messy since there was so much cooking going on. There still is much to do in here.
Lola bought all new appliances and she needs some upper cabinets which will hopefully be handmade just to fit her kitchen soon. She also bought a brand new red mixer, like mine!
Here is the eating section of the kitchen. She got a new hutch and she will be painting it soon. She's been so busy loving Tang, she hasn't taken down all of the Christmas decorations.
Bedroom number two...even a special bed for Tang. Lola hasn't had the time to make a cushion yet though.
Bedroom number three...this is a child's room/nursery and Tang spends a lot of time in here playing.
Lola fixed up the little Dollar Store bed by making it bigger, added a headboard (which needs to be painted), dust ruffle and new linens.
There is a baby in here! The baby is nekked and never comes out of this room. Tang isn't really bothered by the baby since the baby never says anything! Well, being doll land, you just never know what is going to happen.
For such a big house there is only one bathroom but it's okay. That scale is always out because Lola is so concerned about her weight all of the time. More things to do in here too. Windows and curtains to be installed.
Then there is a very nice dining room! Lola went out and bought all new furniture and Tang loves jumping up and down on all of the pieces. They put a more formal tree in here. You can see what all is needed - window coverings and pictures.
This is the sunroom which is a work in progress. The long padded bench is complete as Lola made it and upholstered it herself. There needs to be a lovely window with a pretty view installed and then some kind of window treatments. Wicker furniture would be nice but it's out of Lola's price range.
Lola also bought a new washer and dryer for her laundry room. Now the laundry room is out in the elements at the moment. The workman have to come back and put up walls. Everything just can't be done at once. You see Lola is all ready to wash and clean in her cute home made apron.
Lola and Tang are so excited because their new home has a huge basement. You may recognize some of the homemade furniture from the little foam board mini house. Well Lola decided they'd keep the little foam board house for a getaway retreat. So they'll take back what furniture they need when the time comes.
No more teasin'. Back to reality. I really don't have a new dollhouse but I went to Target and bought two of their $17.99 put together shelves that fit perfectly in the corner of my sewing room. As you can see I messed up on the one on the right and got the bottom shelf upside down. I took it off twice and put it back together and then just said, "to heck with it!" and left it just as it is. The other shelf went together like a breeze. So the bottom shelves will be the basement for storing things. I'll probably make a little curtain to cover up the mess. I printed out wallpaper from the computer. Because of the patterns on some I did have to adjust the images around a bit on the wallpapers to make it all match, but I'm so talented like that. One more thing. I made two more foam board rooms that sit on top - the dining room and nursery. I'll do the same for the laundry room and then I'll make a front porch.
A little note about Lola. I found a bag of tiny little dolls at a thrift shop and she was in there. There was just something about her I loved. She was nekked as a jay bird and had this big ole head of messy hair. But that face! That sweet face! I found her way before I decided to start mini - ing. Anyway, I braided her thick hair and added a ribbon. I made her a skirt, blouse and a special little apron. Now she is most presentable! This is so much fun and I did treat myself to quite a few minis for Christmas! Merry Christmas to me! I'll be making curtains, adding accessories, plan on making some top kitchen cabinets. You know - stuff!

Endless Love
My love,
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's bright
My first love,
You're every breath that I take
You're every step I make
And I
(I-I-I-I-I)
I want to share
All my love with you
No one else will do...
And your eyes
Your eyes, your eyes
They tell me how much you care
Ooh yes, you will always be
My endless love
Two hearts,
Two hearts that beat as one
Our lives have just begun
Forever
(ohhhhhh)
I'll hold you close in my arms
I can't resist your charms
And love
Oh, love
I'll be a fool
For you,
I'm sure
You know I don't mind
Oh, you know I don't mind
'cause you,
You mean the world to me
Oh
I know
I know
I've found in you
My endless love
Oooh-woow
Boom, boom
Boom, boom, boom, boom, booom
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom
Oooh, and love
Oh, love
I'll be that fool
For you,
I'm sure
You know I don't mind
Oh you know
I don't mind
And, yes
You'll be the only one
'cause no one can deny
This love I have inside
And I'll give it all to you
My love
My love, my love
My endless love
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's bright
My first love,
You're every breath that I take
You're every step I make
And I
(I-I-I-I-I)
I want to share
All my love with you

Shelia that is so cute! I love Tang and the new Mom and home. My little Scout loves doll houses and I was thinking of doing a bookcase one a little like yours for her to play with. Adorable!!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, you amaze me. How fun is this.
ReplyDeleteNow I want a dollhouse! How sweet your new little house is and how clever of you to think of using shelves. I am looking forward to seeing how Lola and Tang decorate the rest of the house.

ReplyDeleteHow adorable is all this! I'm so glad Tang found a new home. I like the idea of these shelves acting as an inside view of your little doll house. Thank you again for posting the video of yourself playing the piano on FB the other day. Your voice is as cute as you are and I hope you'll do more of them!
ReplyDeleteLove looking at your dollhouse posts! You certainly have a "mini" eye. If I might make a suggestion, Lola needs a little ottoman to rest her feet! Another project!
