The above snap was from earlier last week but the snow coming down was so pretty and I just had to share it with you.
Mr. Precious could not wait to get out and use his snow blower. He's like a little kid.
On Christmas morning, Mr. Precious and I slept in, I made waffles and we exchanged gifts. I had cooked the day before and did a little more for the family coming over later in the day.
Hurry, hurry, hurry! What is in here asked little Campie.
Dear daughter looking on. Carter showed up in her new robe! She was an owl.
Her one wish was for a Barbie Dream Castle. I think it was called Rainbow Cove. She was so excited when she opened her 'perfect' present, as she called it. What joy to see Christmas through these little eyes of love. The excitement, wonder, talking about baby Jesus and looking to find where the Elf on the Shelf was hiding. :)
I have learned to set a rather simple table when the little ones are coming over as they like to explore and get in to the centerpiece. Hey, paper napkins work!
I do pray you all were blessed with love and joy on this very special day. I want to thank you all for following along with my little blog. I love you and appreciate your friendship so much. Here's to a wonderful blessed 2017 with you all!
You are all my sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
- and wild and sweet
- The words repeat
And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
- Had rolled along
- The unbroken song
Till ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
- A voice, a chime,
- A chant sublime
Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
- And with the sound
- The carols drowned
It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearth-stones of a continent,
- And made forlorn
- The households born
And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;
- "For hate is strong,
- And mocks the song
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
- The Wrong shall fail,
- The Right prevail,
~ sung by Nat King Cole

ReplyDeleteThis year was a special Christmas for us. We moved to Utah and were really missing our girls. My mother and dad grabbed my girls and they all came up for Christmas. Made it a wonderful Christmas for us.
ReplyDeleteThis is a favorite carol of mine. It was fun seeing and hearing about your Christmas, dear friend. We had a quiet Christmas this year with my dear, little mother. The days before Christmas had sone big challenges but God gave a Christmas Day that I will always treasure. We knew He had blessed each of us in a very special way!

I love your Nativity flag and the pretty snow, Shelia! We would have liked to have a white Christmas here, but that's pretty rare for us. I'm very glad to see that all of you had a nice Christmas and that Carter seems to have regained her good health again. That's a true Christmas blessing. :) The Grands are real cuties, and I'm sure you all had a fun day.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend, and wishing you all the best in 2017!
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Your table is pretty, Sheila. Love that tablecloth. The snow is lovely too - but have you had a hard time adjusting to the NE's climate, coming from south Texas? I realize, of course, that FAMILY trumps weather every time!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Beth
I see your blog daily, it is crispy to study.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is very useful for me & i like so much...
