Table and Chairs

Hello, Dear Ones. I'm out traveling and will be out of pocket for a while but I didn't want you to forget about me so I'm going to share a little mini with you. I'll see you all when I get back.

Here I am again to show you more of my handmade miniatures. As I've said before, there are so many wonderful tutorials for making minis on Pinterest. I needed some dining room chairs and a table so I went to Pinterest. Now if you're a perfectionist, leave now! :)
This is what I came up with. Now don't you laugh because this is not perfect by any means. Just look and then I'll tell you about making it.
This is what I found on Pinterest and thought, I can do this! You can check the site out HERE it's in Portuguese. I have been reading lately that using mat board for mini furniture is really a good material. My daughter just so happened to have quite a few pieces just collecting dust so she gave them to me. Now let me tell you, mat board is not easy to cut! I'm learning how to use my craft knife but cutting little curves and stuff just don't work out. Suppose I need a tiny saw for that. Anyway, I tried so hard but I couldn't do it - my pieces looked terrible! So I went back and grabbed a piece of foam board. That's why the chairs are kinda chunky! I didn't like how the raw edges looked so I cut out little strips of card stock to cover the raw edges, but heck!! it was going to take forever. You can see where I started using the cardstock down the fronts of the chair legs and that was it!
Here you have my most nonperfect chairs in the country! But they are what they are.  I did paint them a pretty blue and added little cushions for the backs and the seats. Don't fire me from making minis! Chairs done and now I needed a table.

Ta dah! Well, it looks a little bit better than my chairs. I grabbed little pieces of wood and wood sticks and just went to town making my own table.
I bought a pack of these thin wooden pieces and used one for the top of the table. I did cut it down a tad.
Again, I'm not a perfectionist so here's what I did. I had the pretty wooden scrollies that I was going to use for the legs but my chunky chairs wouldn't slide under the table so I cut some foam board and glued it to the bottom of the tabletop and that did it. I told you foam board is my best friend right now.
I added a little trim under the table top with wooden sticks. I just cut them with scissors as to how long I needed each piece to be and glued them in place. If having perfectly squared and even edges bother you, um, I apologize. :)
Here are the chairs around the table. I don't officially have a dining room yet so I just took the furniture out of the bedroom and put in the dining room furniture! Well, the host and hostess will have to stay put in their chairs because they won't be able to slide them out at all! :) They will have to serve finger foods as there are no utensils. Hope their guests won't be thirsty because there are no glasses! I don't think Tang cares one hoot she just wants some food on those plates!
My mini-ing is not perfect but it sure is fun. Again, don't shoot me!!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

I Gotta Be Me

Whether I'm right or whether I'm wrong
Whether I find a place in this world or never belong
I gotta be me, I've gotta be me
What else can I be but what I am

I want to live, not merely survive
And I won't give up this dream
Of life that keeps me alive
I gotta be me, I gotta be me
The dream that I see makes me what I am

That far-away prize, a world of success
Is waiting for me if I heed the call
I won't settle down, won't settle for less
As long as there's a chance that I can have it all

I'll go it alone, that's how it must be
I can't be right for somebody else
If I'm not right for me
I gotta be free, I've gotta be free
Daring to try, to do it or die
I've gotta be me

I'll go it alone, that's how it must be
I can't be right for somebody else
If I'm not right for me
I gotta be free, I just gotta be free
Daring to try, to do it or die
I gotta be me
