Just to let you know, if I haven't responded to your comments, we been on a trip and have just gotten home. I'm slow, but I'll be by to visit! On with the show...
I thought you may be tired of seeing the kitchen so we'll go into the bedroom and I'll show you my progress.
Looking kinda sweet, don't you think? There's that Tang being her lazy little self in the middle of the bed.
Like I've told you, I'm trying to make as much of my minis as I can because what's the fun in buying them all? I know there will be some pieces I'll buy but if I can make some I'm going to try. So I made a bed!
I stripped the covers off and thought I would show you how I did it. You may see a little line of light blue between the mattress the the headboard. Well, I was going to be so smart and make a padded headboard. It just didn't look very good so I cut it off after the headboard was glued down so some of the blue fabric stayed. I'm so talented like that you know!
Here's how I made the headboard. I cut a piece of foam board a little smaller than I wanted my headboard to be and started gluing down these little wooden slats that I bought in a package. They are very easy to cut with scissors too. I arranged them like steps up and down Then painted it all white.
Then I cut four rectangles from foam board the size I wanted the bed to be and glued them together. After they all dried I took some white fabric and wrapped the 'mattress' with it like a package, not too neatly either, and hot glued down the ends. You see I added some little wooden beads for the feet. I glued down some sweet lace for a bedskirt and then glued the headboard to the bed.
Kinda cute, don't you think? I guess I could have added a little stain to have more definition to the slats but I like crisp and white.
You know you can't have a nekked bed (that's transplanted Texan to New York for naked) so I had to made me some linens. I used some of my little bitty print fabric and made a bedspread. I measured the width of the bed and then the length and added about an inch all the way around and cut out that rectangle. Then I measured around the bed starting at one side next to the headboard, measuring all the way around the foot and up the other side to the headboard for the length of the skirt and sewed this strip to the top rectangle. It fit just right!
It worked. Well, I sew quite a bit and can do some things on my own without a pattern! ;)
I made one long pillow for the bed and added a little lace on each end. So cute and it's little too!
Since this is a full sized mini bed, I needed two pillows for our tiny heads to lay on. So I made two pillow inserts and then two pillow cases.
See how little? I added the sweet little decorative stitch to the pillow cases so they would look more fancy! I'm talented like that you know! :) Oops, I've told you that already! Then I printed out a couple of sweet little art pieces and took some of the same wood slats I used for the headboard and made frames. Rustic, but cute and they work. I just cut the lengths I wanted with scissors!
Oh, this is a long post! Sorry! Back to A. C. Moores I went again to check out their wood section and look what I found!! A cute little dresser with a mirror. It was unfinished and not fancy but hey, it was only a dollar! So I painted her up and painted the little knob blue!
The little drawer opens too.
Mr. Precious surprised me with a little tiny lamp. Isn't it sweet? Since I love milk glass so much I just know that glass shade is milk glass, don't you ? Mr. Precious pays attention.
There's more! Then...I looked and there was this cute little end table with drawers that open up! Get down from there, Tang! I painted it up and guess what? Yep, it was only a dollar! Winner, winner! Chicken Dinner! ;)
Okay, one more. I made another lamp. It's a bit wonky but it's cute. I really need to try and follow a tutorial on make a 'good looking' lamp. I'm just using beads, wood and paper.
Okie dokie! I'm done. Uh Oh! There's Tang looking out the window. I think she heard
her boyfriend calling! What am I going to do with this mini kitty?

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
I hate to leave you, but I really must say,
Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight.
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
I hate to leave you, but I really must say,
Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight.
Well, it's three o'clock in the morning,
And baby, I just can't do right,
Well, I hate to leave you, baby,
I don't mean maybe, because I love you so.
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
(Do-do-do-do-do)
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
(Ba-do ba-do)
I hate to leave you, but I really must say,
Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight.
Well your mother and your father,
They won't like it if we stay up too late
Well, I hate to leave you, baby,
I don't mean maybe, you know I hate to go.
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
(Do-do-do-do-do)
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
(Ba-do ba-do)
I hate to leave you, but I really must say,
Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight.
