Here's my olden buffet and you can see by the door on the right side that's ajar the wood has shrunk and it will not stay closed during the winter time. I just hate this! We got a humidifier put down in the basement when is supposed to bring some moisture in through the forced heat vents. I don't think it's doing a good job. Any way...
It's so nice to pull out some pieces from my Butterfly Meadows set. They just scream "Springtime"! I love screaming dishes, don't you?
Okie dokie, of course I had to have a little piece of Milk Glass. Actually this piece has been on the buffet before Christmas and I thought it could just stay. I poked a little crocheted doily my grandmother made and poked down the vase with some fauxs. I placed a tiny little BM bowl with Easter grass and a few little eggs.
Then this darling little rabbit and the salt and peppers.
I'm so very thankful for our new/old house and how God has brought us from the south to Yankeeland! :) I'm so thankful I'm able to get around a lot better now. In the house I'm just walking around, with a limp of course, and when I'm out I walk with my cane! My little granddaughter, Carter, is doing so much better and again ~ I'm so very thankful. With the newness of Spring just around the corner, I reflect on how God's continues to bless me and how thankful I am. I pray I never neglect to thank Him for His kindness to me. Blessings to you, all my Dear Ones.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Thankful
I felt your gentle rain
You wash over my heart again
And I find You here
I Find You here
You take me by the hand
And when I dont understand
You hold me
You hold me
To the cross I come again
I'm so thankful, I'm thankful
You're mercy over me again
I'm so thankful, living God
I wanna thank You living God
In the light of day
You're truth defies my way
And You call me Yours
I'm forever Yours
For eternity,
You will be, You will be
Yesterday, today and forever,
You remain the same
To the cross I come again
I'm so thankful, I'm thankful
You're mercy over me again
I'm so thankful, living God
To the cross I come again
I'm so thankful, I'm thankful
You're mercy over me again
I'm so thankful, living God
I wanna thank You living God

Little treasures are the best! Like your little Carter.

So good to hear you and Carter are doing better, Sheila! I must need new glasses because I can barely make out a hint of a door not being shut on your buffet. If you hadn't told us we wouldn't have ever known. I do wish you and your family a Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw Easter on the Buffet I hopped right on over (no pun intended here!) I just knew this was going to be a treat and it is!

I like dishes that shout too! Sometimes when I am shopping, a dish will shout out at me: "Take me home with you!" It happens quite often ;-) I am so glad that both you and Carter are doing better now. That's a real blessing!
ReplyDeleteBig Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Very pretty of course! xx

ReplyDeleteThank you for that!
How did you hang those plates so perfectly?
Was moving after living somewhere a long time hard.
We are considering moving near our grandchildren.
Shelia, SPRING BLESSINGS to you! May every day be a day of strengthening and encouraging. Thank God your lil Carter is better and you continue to gain your strength. The dishes hanging in your sweet dining room wall are lovely. This is such a nice decorating touch. God bless. Resurrection Sunday is on the way, but not before GOOD FRIDAY!!! d
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are all better. Love your pretty Easter dining room.
ReplyDeleteOh- How pretty it all looks, Sheila! I love it. I am looking at your buffet and I believe it is the same one my mother had in our big old country kitchen when I was growing up...well not THAT one but one just like it. You know that top middle drawer? She put PIES in there!! lol xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you and Carter, Shelia. Glad you are both doing well. I love you Butterfly Meadows collection. BM just did not sound right to me, lol. Happy Easter!...Christine
ReplyDeleteI heard your anniversary was around this date, Shelia, so I popped over to wish you many more happy, healthy years together!
ReplyDeleteObviously, I've not visited in a long time, as I didn't know you moved. Last I touched base, I knew you had hurt your knee & were laid up. I'm glad to see you're mobile again & back to doing pretty decorations. They all look lovely!
BTW, you're not that late with Easter...I'm just now getting mine out after putting away all the green stuff from St. Patrick's day!
Have a Blessed Easter, Hon & enjoy the grandkidlets.
I hope you continue to improve so that you can really enjoy the nice weather this Spring and summer. Love your beautiful home! Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteI love your screaming dishes! I only started decorating earlier for holidays since I began blogging. I don't remember doing it much more than the week before the holiday in the past. I'm glad to know your knee is getting better and your getting around a lot more. I'm especially happy to know Carter is doing much better. There's nothing worse than having a little one get sick with something so frightening. Thank goodness for modern medicine and the good doctors out there! Wishing you a blessed and happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so pretty together. I love them milk glass -- that's springy too!
ReplyDeleteAnd good news on Carter. We'll keep the prayers coming!
