Oh, Christmas Tree

Hello, Dear Ones! I have almost forgotten to show you my Christmas tree! Oh, yes, I have a Christmas tree in the living room in front of the windows so all of our neighbors can see the twinkly little lights! I just love lights at Christmas time, don't you?
Here she is! We love this tree. She is big and fat and full of branches. And...she's fake. But she holds another secret...
She has a flat top. Yes, ma'am, she does. We have had her so long and love her so much that when we moved here she wouldn't fit. She was just too too tall. So Mr. Precious got his hack saw and sawed off two or three feet from the top! So she really does have a flat top!
So I had to make her explosion a lot bigger. I added more ribbon, more bows till she looked just right!
Unfortunately, a beautiful angel or a shiny twinkly star will never grace the top of her head because it's flat! Well, we still love her and believe she'll be around for many more Christmases, God willing.
She's filled with an array of Christmas ornaments. No themes here, just lots of ornies. I love color and color is what you'll find at my house, especially at Christmas. Oh, I found some narrow decco mesh and twirled that around my tree. It's wider than a ribbon but not as wide as the regular mesh and I loved how it turned out!
It's almost dark and you can see the twinkly lights making a sweet glow on everything.
Now the tree is at it's most beautiful now! I could sit in here all evening just looking at it and the way the living room looks in Christmas lights.
We've been keeping a little two year old quite a bit lately and he is very interested in all of the Christmas balls. I think this is my favorite snap, although a little blurry, of all! ;)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

  1. " Oh Christmas Tree " yes the wee one is enchanted by the beautiful glowing Christmas tree. I like how you added the bountiful bows on top, very creative.

  2. Your Christmas tree is gorgeous Shelia, and I think the flat top is well disguised with the pretty and pouffy bows and ribbons. I wish you and your sweet family a blessed Christmas holiday. Hugs. Pam

  3. I ♥ the last picture of your grandson enjoying your beautiful tree up close. I am another that doesn't usually do themed trees, I like lots of color on mine.
    Merry Christmas, Shelia.

  4. she looks Perfect to me. my head is sorta flat on top too so I puff up my hair so it looks full... wink wink
I too hope both the tree and You are around for many many more years and I hope I can share the many Merry Christmas's with you via the internet.

    much love and happy wishes

  5. Little guy in his PJ's in front of a tree . . . now that's a sweet, sweet scene! The tree is marvelous and I laughed out loud at the part where your husband cut the top off the tree. That is such a practical solution my own hubby would think of!
Enjoy a good pre-Christmas weekend with those you love, and continued prayers for Carter!

  6. What a beautiful tree, flat top and all. You don't notice it one bit. Love the last pic of the little guy-so cute!

  7. Shelia,
Your Christmas Tree is absolutely lovely, flat top and all!!!
LOVE the photo of your grandson admiring the Christmas Tree!!!
    Thank you for sharing!!!

  8. Your tree is so beautiful! I am in love. If you didn't say it had a flat top, no one would have known. The bows are a perfect disguise. And I know you have good taste since I put bows on the top of my tree also. Thank you for sharing those wonderful pictures with us (especially the last one -- it could be a card).

  9. Pretty tree, Sheila! Don't be too critical of her shape. Many of us are fat and flat on top, lol!! Sweet picture!

  10. Your tree is breathtaking, Shelia! WOW!

And that precious toddler is making his own grandma and grandpa's tree memories now!

SO AWESOME! Love and joy to you all this Christmastime and for the coming new year. ♥

  11. Your Christmas tree is absolutely gorgeous! Every ornie is lovely, specially your new adorable toddler, who seems like he made a sweet Elf.
This is the first time in 40 years I haven't made a tree, but only decorated the house; as we're going to spend it with our dearest Sofia's, Sil and the cuties and on a three hour drive this Monday and for a week.
Since we came back from Miami I haven't time for almost nothing else but prepare for C'mas.
Merry Christmas and many blessings sweet lady.

  12. Oooooh! I forgot to comment on her flat head too...hahahaaa! Mr. Precious did a great job beheading your old tree, lol.. Great Idea, who knew!

  13. Your Christmas tree is beautiful. Enjoy the next days as we head on down towards the big day. Hoping as the new year roles in here shortly Carter will be doing so much better in the new year. Prayers still for you and your family. Merry Christmas.

  14. Shelia, I just visited Jan's blog...she said you have fallen and broke your knee cap. I am praying for you and your whole family. I hated hearing this.. Seems you need lots of prayers there. I will hold you in my thoughts and prayers. Little Cater too. I do love you beautiful home . The tree is wonderful and what better accent piece than a wee boy standing there. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  15. Your tree is beautiful. Love the picture of your grandson.

I just read the post above mine. So sorry you fell. Prayers for a speedy recovery for you. And I am glad your box of little bulbs arrived.

    Get well soon.

  16. The last picture is precious, Shelia -- definitely a keeper! :) Your tree looks beautiful, and I can't even tell it has a flat top. I love lots of color, too, and all my sentimental ornaments.

    Have a joyous week!

  18. Love the look of so many vintage ornaments, your tree looks fantastic. Christmas blessings!

  19. Your tree is of my favorite things to do is sit with just the tree lights on at night. Hope your home and feeling better so you can enjoy it dear one!

  20. Your tree is gorgeous! I'd love to sit and enjoy it with you. I'm praying for you, dear friend, and hope you can be home to enjoy your family and home this Christmas Day.

  21. Oh Christmas tree is a beauty even with her flat top! You've masked it well and no one would guess. I love how the gold mesh glows from the lights. I still haven't tried the mesh for anything yet. Get that knee better quickly so you can be back in the swing of things again soon!

  22. Beautiful tree!
Merry Christmas and a very blessed new year.

  23. Your tree is GORGEOUS!!!. We moved our tree to a new location this year and it is much better! EXCEPT we can't see it when we eat, just the reflection in the windows:) I love all your ornaments. Merry Christmas!!!

  24. Flat top or not, that is a beautiful tree!

  25. I love your tree and seeing it in different lighting conditions! I'm with you -- I might have themes for little trees, but that big baby is a little bit of everything and filled with color, like yours! I love how you compensated for your flat top -- who would know? It is just dazzling and such a wonderful reflection of you! Merry Christmas!

  26. Flat top not not, She's a beaut! I hope you are resting comfortably, Sheila. I'm so very sorry about your fall. The Lord will take care of all the details...He never fails! Merry Christmas!
