We will live Thanksgiving every day from now on. Thank you all so much for your prayers for our little Carter. As of today she is decorating her Christmas tree with her family.
This was taken Thanksgiving afternoon when Carter got out of the hospital and we're eating dinner that our wonderful church catered to us. Blessings abound. Looking at this it is so hard to believe my little angel was at death's door. But God heard our prayers and brought her through. I've said it before, but I just can never thank you all for praying and caring so much for our little precious. God is so good. Sending much much love...Shelia ;)

Dear Ones, one last update on our little Carter and I will put this to rest for a little while. Carter slept well last night and her daddy made pancakes for her this morning. Her Bubba (Mr. Precious) has promised to take her to the store and she can pick out anything she wants and he will buy it for her. :) Please continue to pray for Carter's recovery and her parents. They are very worn out and vulnerable at this time and Satan is bombarding them with negative thoughts right now. They realize it's a spiritual battle but please play for them. God is good and we give Him all of the glory for how He has worked His healing hand through little Carter. We couldn't have gotten this far without all of your support and prayers. Again, you'll never know what this means to us. We just continue to pray for Carter daily that she can live a normal life as she goes through the treatments and changes to her life. I'm going to take a much needed break and a long long breath for a little while. If anything changes I'll let you know. Love, love, love you.
Nov. 26, 2015
Dear Ones! I just had to write one more time today about our little Carter. She woke up this morning after her treatment and was playing and doing so well. They dismissed her this afternoon and we've just had Thanksgiving dinner with our family and our precious little Carter. She will have another treatment in a few weeks and we will still need your prayers. She is on some oral meds right now, a steroid, even a blood pressure pill because the steroids seem to make her blood pressure go up. It's not very high but the med is prevent future problems. She really has no limitations on what she can do but will have a salt reduced diet and no processed foods. My daughter and her family eat very healthy so this won't be very hard to do. We cannot put into words how much we appreciate your prayers. These prayers to our God have sustained us and has brought Carter through this very scary time. We know it's not over but prayerfully the worse is over. We prayer you all have had a wonderful Thanksgiving. This has definitely been our best Thanksgiving! We give God all the glory for what He has done for us. Thank you again and I love you.
Nov. 26, 2016
Dear Ones, I want to wish you all a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving! We are praising the Lord again this morning as Carter came through her treatment like a little trooper! She slept through the entire thing with nothing abnormal happening. There was a long delay because she just refused to take some of the oral meds before they could start the chemo drip. One of her little friends came to visit and she was bribed - take your medicine and then you can play with Sophie! It worked! So her treatment didn't start until around 9:30 pm when it was supposed to start at 4pm. Praise God for you all and your faithfulness to pray for Carter. God hears the prayers from His children and He is honoring them! Oh, I forgot to thank you for all of the birthday wishes. I feel so blessed and am singing praises for our Lord Jesus this morning. Love you.
Nov. 25, 2015
Dear Ones, I hope you don't tire of me reporting on Carter. I have some good news. Her chest xray came back clear! Praise the Lord! We also learned this disease attacks the kidneys first and she has lesions on her kidneys from about two weeks ago which usually spread. But there are no new ones. That's another praise the Lord! Her doctor is the top in his field and is consulting with other doctors who treat this disease but most of their patients are adults. That's why this is so rare in a five year old. I come with another prayer request. She has started her chemo treatment now and it will last for five hours. They will monitor her during this time and we ask for prayer that her little body will respond properly with no complications or side effects. Her doctor has ordered four treatments just in case but is hoping he'll only have to administer two. You don't know how very much we appreciate your prayers. We feel the peace of Jesus surrounding us. Our daughter and son in law really need your prayers. They have tried so hard to stay strong for Carter but it's so hard. Again, I love you!
Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015
Dear Ones, here I am again requesting prayer as Carter has her first treatment this morning. I so appreciate your prayers, concern and advice. I wanted to correct myself as I misspoke. Carter's doctor has treated this illness a number of times but never in one so young that why it's so scary. This is a very rare auto-immune disease that causes inflammation to blood vessels and attacks your body's organs. He says it was caught very early and this should help with the treatment. Thank you again for your support and prayers. There is nothing to difficult for our God and we're still holding fast to Him. Love you.
Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015
Dear Ones, we've just gotten the results from all of the tests on little Carter. She has a very rare auto immune disease and that has what has been happening starting with the rash, which was her body's way of trying to fight it off almost a month ago. Her doctor is amazed that the numbers in her blood work have almost gotten down to normal. It has attacked her kidneys and attacks other organs of her body rapidly. The next thing is a lung xray and prayerfully there will be no damage. Don't know if it's curable but it can be treated with a drug like chemo and we don't know how long she'll need treatment. It's not cancerous, but the treatment needs to happen immediately. Again, this is not what we wanted to hear. We feel the doctor she has is the best. He is the head of the kidney department. He said he has treated this once before in an older child but it wasn't this severe. Again, we covet your prayers for Carter, her parents and of course George and I. We know definitely Jesus is in control of all things and He is greater than this.
It's just so hard to believe this has happened to a completely healthy little girl. Please, please pray.
Love you

Little Carter has had her procedure and is back in her room. The doctor said it went well and she was a trooper. They only biopsied one kidney but whatever is going on has affected both so they just needed to do the one. She's awake and waiting to eat some pancakes. Now we're praying for good results. Don't don't exactly when we'll hear, maybe tomorrow. Thank you again for all of your prayers and concern. Today is my birthday and my only wish is that my little Carter will be okay. Love to you all. Here's a little snap of Carter about to eat her pancakes. She's so precious to us all.
Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015
Dear Ones, I'd like to give you an update on Carter. She continues to get a little better. Through the blood work this morning it shows she's better. She is still so so tired and cranky. The needle biopsy is still scheduled for 10ish in the morning and should take less than an hour. Everyone is worn out but we are so thankful to our Savior for what He is doing. Thank you for your prayers and we can feel the Lord's presence around us. Sending my love.
Nov. 22, 2015
I wanted to give you an update on our little Carter. As of this morning the doctor is going to wait on doing the needle biopsy of her kidneys and wait until Monday because she has improved some during the night. He also said as of now he will not do the catheter in her little neck for the dialysis. She has not been able to urinate and they thought her kidneys were shutting down but since she has been going a lot! 15 oz. and then 8 oz. Thank you, Jesus! Praise God! We know she is not out of the woods yet but God is moving in a mighty way and we thank you all for your prayers and would ask you to continue. Love you all.
Nov. 21, 2015
It's after 11pm here but I wanted to give you an update on Carter. She has been admitted into the hospital. They ran an ultrasound on her kidneys and something is wrong! She is getting some really strong steroids right now and through the night but in the morning they will do a needle biopsy on her kidneys. She will have to be sedated and also a catheter will be inserted into her little necek and she will have dialysis! We can not believe all of this is happening! The doctors don't know much else to tell them. They did tell my daughter and son-in-law many things that this could be and I'm not even going to tell you. One positive thing though is the doctor said this could clear up on it's own. They just don't know. My poor daughter is just a mess, dear ones. We've all a mess! Please continue to pray that God will heal our little girl and that His loving arms will be around our family as we go through this. He is great and He loves us and He is our healer. We're claiming that. Thank you for your prayers.
Nov. 20, 2015
Dear Ones, I need you right this moment! My little granddaughter Carter who is only five years old is in the emergency room. She has been sick for over three weeks. She broke out with hives all over her little body and the doctor tested her for strep and the results came back positive. Doctor said some kids have strep but not the regular symptoms. She didn't have a sore throat or anything. So after 3 different antibiotics, she just continued to get sicker. Weak, sick at her tummy, throwing up, and so tired she could hardly hold her little head up. She went in for blood work this morning and the doctor called by daughter back and said she had mono. In about an hour she called her back with more test results and said her kidneys were failing and to get her to the hospital. My daughter called me and needed me immediately to come and stay with Camp while she took Carter to the hospital. Our son in law met them and they been there now about two hours. We're waiting to hear from them now.
Please please pray for God's mighty hand to heal our little precious. I know so many of you love the Lord and are mighty prayer warriors. Thank you for your prayers and I'm claiming in Jesus' name that the medical staff will know how to treat her and get her on the road to recovery.
Love you all more than you will ever know.
Shelia ;)

Bendiciones
Oh no! I am so sorry. I will pray for your family and little Carter. Please feel my virtual hug! Sheila

Bendiciones Sheila y Familia...Carter seguirá sonriendo y ustedes junta a ella.
This was so beautiful, Shirley! I do agree, this too shall pass and we'll look back and see how God has worked this out.
DeleteHugs to you,
Shelia ;)
