This little hutch is actually my little play toy! I have the best time changing it out for the seasons. I just left my Blue Willow dishes in it and added Fallen touches! Works for me.
Starting on the very top, this is what you see. I love my little Italian trio of Roosters. Got these many years ago in Rome in a little shop on the Piazza Navona. Then a small tool box with sweet plates, Fallen leaves and a pun'kin! Done! Then the first shelf. Doesn't the oranges just look so pretty with the Blue Willow dishes?
I love my nesting chicken dishes too and this amber colored one looked like Fall.
I poked in some raffia and pun'kins in my antique Blue Willow bowl on the bottom and I was totally done! I love easy, don't you?I took these snaps in the late afternoon and when I turned the lights off the sun was shining in just so prettily.
Reminds me that Fall is fleeting and Christmas is on it's way, y'all! :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Let The Sunshine In
Mommy told me something a little kid should know
It's all about the devil and I learned to hate him so
She said he causes trouble when you let him in your room
He'll never ever leave you if your heart is filled with gloom
So let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Smilers never lose and frowners never win
So let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Open up your heart and let the sun shine in
When you are unhappy, the devil wears a grin
But oh, he starts to run in when the light comes prowling in
I know he'll be unhappy 'cause I'll never wear a frown
Maybe if we keep on smiling he'll get tired of hanging 'round
If I forget to say my prayers the devil jumps with glee
But he feels so awful, awful when he sees me on my knees
So if you feel of trouble and you never seem to moveimage: http://static.urx.io/units/web/urx-unit-loader.gif
Just open up your heart and let the sun shine in
So let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Smilers never lose and frowners never win
So let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Open up your heart and let the sun shine in
Sun shine in, sun shine in
~ sung by all the little children

Beautiful fall! I too love blue and white dishes!
ReplyDeleteYes Let the sun shine in! I used to sing that all the time when the kiddies were little.
This is so pretty and absolutely timeless with the blue and white dishes. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you've bits of Fall to the things you love. Your hutch is wonderful! I've got to get busy and finish up some Fall decorating before it's time to pack it all away again. Thanks, again, for the inspiration.

'Let the Sunshine In' was one of the first tunes I taught myself to play on the piano. Boy, that was a long time ago! I was probably eleven years old. Love your hutch and the Blue Willow. The orange touches do make it pop. Love the little cow creamer! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day.

It looks so pretty, Sheila. I love the sunshine coming into the house. I also love the play of orange and gold off the blue dishes. Really lovely. You are right- fall is fleeting and winter will soon be upon us! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI'm late getting around to my blogs today, but how I love your blue and orange! This is the song I always started my morning with when I was teaching school. I would play the autoharp and we would all sing at the top of our lungs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Shelia! I always enjoy seeing your little roos, and I love the picture of the sunlight streaming in "highlighting" your pretty pieces!

ReplyDeleteThat looks so pretty and so festive!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove it Shelia! I wish I had a larger piece to work with like this because I love doing the same thing. I bought a dark blue cow creamer and was thinking of you as I purchased it! Now with the holidays I won't be putting it out until January! I love that song- we need to remember simple pleasures like that more often!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila, I love your pretty white hutch and your Blue Willow. Hope all is well with you. It's been fun reading about your move; are you glad you left Galveston? I'm sure it was hard, but when you have grand babies you want to be able to be a part of their lives.

Hi Shelia, love your Blue Willow on your hutch. I have the same dishes with 22 place settings. I have the same large vintage bowl too. Your Italian rooster pitcher trio is special. You created a beautiful display and the blue is perfect with the colors of fall. Complimentary with the rust and orange. Have a great weekend! Thanks for sharing and always the inspiration.
