This week I've made Marion a little floral print dress covered in lace.
I thought the little touches of lace were so sweet and looked so frilly and girly. Marion loves it.
Doesn't she look so sweet and lacy? Lace all up and down the front of her dress and around the neck. I hope she hasn't forgotten these are not her clothes but they really belong to Ruby Sparkles. Marion is only modeling for me and then these clothes will be given to Carter, my little granddaughter, for her doll ~ Ruby Sparkles. Oh, Lord, I feel a scene coming on.
Lace around the bottoms of her sleeves.
To finish off her little dress, I added more lace around the hem.
Here's the pattern I used, the second view. I wasn't as pleased with this pattern as it didn't fit so well. I think it could have been my fault because I made just a little bit bigger seams than I should. Whoops, now you all know I'm not so talented like that! :) As my little granddaughter would say, "Look and learn!" :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Crying
I was all right for a while, I could smile for a while
But I saw you last night, you held my hand so tight
As you stopped to say "Hello"
Aw you wished me well, you couldn't tell
But I saw you last night, you held my hand so tight
As you stopped to say "Hello"
Aw you wished me well, you couldn't tell
That I'd been crying over you, crying over you
Then you said "so long". left me standing all alone
Alone and crying, crying, crying crying
It's hard to understand but the touch of your hand
Can start me crying
Then you said "so long". left me standing all alone
Alone and crying, crying, crying crying
It's hard to understand but the touch of your hand
Can start me crying
I thought that I was over you but it's true, so true
I love you even more than I did before but darling what can I do
For you don't love me and I'll always be
I love you even more than I did before but darling what can I do
For you don't love me and I'll always be
Crying over you, crying over you
Yes, now you're gone and from this moment on
I'll be crying, crying, crying, crying
Yeah crying, crying, over you
Yes, now you're gone and from this moment on
I'll be crying, crying, crying, crying
Yeah crying, crying, over you

ReplyDeleteHow sweet with all the pretty lace. And what fun it will be to have all of these pretty clothes to send off to your precious granddaughter. I have this pattern and will try to be careful when I use it. I'm joining you today with photos of my doll Grace in a new dress. She's singing! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, Oh how darling this sweet lacy dress is. I love it and the soft color. Your grand daughter is going to just love this one too. Marion is such a beautiful doll too. Just look at that sweet and perfect face.
ReplyDeleteThank you also for your kind comment on my office reveal. Your comments always arrive on the dashboard instead of my inbox so no way to reply. The glitch goes on I suppose.
Have a beautiful day dear talented one!!
Hugs, cm
Shelia,
ReplyDeleteMarion is a beautiful doll, and her dress is so sweet and so pretty! I am really enjoying the lavender flowers, are they pansies?
Have a lovely Wednesday,
Jemma

ReplyDeleteI think this is one of my faves - such a dainty and sweet dress!
ReplyDeleteWell Miss Marion is looking sweet! I love how you seem to have so much patience with these doll clothes! Last doll outfit I made about took me out! I thought I was going to have to start taking Valium after that! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteThat is just the cutest little dress. If I were Marion I would pitch one big hissy fit, so bad that I'd get it keep it.
ReplyDeleteUh oh, you may need to make Marion a similar dress. Love the touches of lace and the floral pattern, and Roy Orbison too.
ReplyDeleteRuby Sparkles is one very lucky little doll! Maybe Mario would like one just like it!! Love all her dresses!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is adorable, my fav so far......love the lace and the print fabric!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! And what a pretty face on her!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
What a nice grandmother you are, Shelia! I hope there's not too much drama when Marion finds out she's just a model! ♥
ReplyDeleteShelia, this is so sweet and feminine....I love it.
ReplyDeleteHow talented you are!
Barb ♥
Okay, I have to speak for the doll . . . my grandmother made me a purple flowered dress VERY similar to this when I was in the third grade. The lace around the arms and neck were, "LIKE RAZOR BLADES!!" They called me a princess and made me wear it anyway. So to this day, I steer clear of all purple flowered dresses with pouffy sleeves trimmed in lace!
ReplyDeleteVery cute dress. That one lucky girl to have you as her Grandmother.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! These remind me of the kinds of dresses we wore when I was a little girl!
ReplyDeleteMarion's little lace dress is pretty and i'm sure you're right, there may be tantrums when it's time to give them up.
ReplyDeleteDiana
Another great one! I am sure that Marion will hand all of the outfits over very graciously as you will surely make one for her to keep for herself and will not leave her with nothing to wear! xx
ReplyDeleteMarion's dress is precious! Love the dainty little lace trim! And your yard is lovely, what a wonderful space! The bird feeder is too cute! Mr. Precious did a good job picking that out! :) Take care! Rhonda

ReplyDeleteI love the wardrobe your are making for Sparkles. Maybe Miss Marion needs a wardrobe of her own so Miss Carter can play with her at your house. Maybe something different than Sparkles has so Miss Marion will be quite special.

What a lovely dress on a lovely doll.
