Okie Dokie! I have this little spot in my kitchen I've shown you before that is just perfect for decorating.
Now this is the permanent spot for Belinda the blender but she doesn't take up much space so I grabbed some Jadeite and poked it all down. I'm loving seeing this little greenness each day as I cook and clean.
Well, I just couldn't leave out showing you my little olden matchbox. I love this little booger and have had her a very long time and her matches get struck almost every day when I need one to light a candle. Smile, sweetie! :)
Grabbed some faux fruit and poked them into a couple of bowls. They look pretty real, don't they?
I just love this little Jadeite pair. Mr. Jadeite Rooster always wants his Jadeite Hen up on a pedestal. Now he is a keeper for sure!
I poked some greens in another Jadeite bowl and tossed down that platter that I modge podged years ago and I was done! Hope you're enjoying the simple things in your life this day!!
Be a bunch of sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Green Eyed Lady
Green-eyed lady, lovely lady
Strolling slowly towards the sun
Green-eyed lady, ocean lady
Soothing every raging wave that comes
Green-eyed lady, passion's lady
Dressed in love, she lives for life to be
Green-eyed lady feels life I never see
Setting suns and lonely lovers free
Green-eyed lady, wind-swept lady
Rules the night, the waves, the sand
Green-eyed lady, ocean lady
Child of nature, friend of man
Green-eyed lady, passion's lady
Dressed in love, she lives for life to be
Green-eyed lady feels life I never see
Setting suns and lonely lovers free

I am glad you are enjoying your first winter in NY! Snow is very pretty, for sure and it makes snuggling up next to a fire with a good book even better. Love your red and green together.
ReplyDeleteI like Jadeite too - love your little rooster and hen. I have a Jadeite miniature hen ring holder that is very cute.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing Belinda surrounded by all of the Jadeite and fruit...but that mod podged plate you made, pulls it all together!!
ReplyDeleteShelia...you are a girl after my own heart! I have an upcoming post featuring the few pieces of Jadite I own. I adore Jadite and you have some fabulous pieces! And, your little tin match holder reminds me of one my grandmother had in her kitchen! These are such treasures! You did a fabulous job displaying these lovely pieces! Just a grand post my dear!!!
ReplyDeleteShelia, you have such a lovely collection of Jadeite! Love your little cabinet and shelf! Stay warm and enjoy playing in your new home.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
So lovely Shelia, it is always nice to see what you have been decorating in your home. Always makes me smile! xx
ReplyDeleteI understand your contentment with staying home and being cozy. I'm always happy to spend the day puttering around my house and never run out of things to do. Your cabinets are built in a way that look like a hoosier cabinet! Such a pretty arrangement.
ReplyDeleteStay warm with cozy thoughts!
I only have on jadeite piece, but I love it! So pretty here -- and so is that adorable match box! Thanks for coming by Marmelade Gypsy!
ReplyDeleteLooks GREAT- just the perfect bit of color surrounded by all our snow, and the Jadeite color is gorgeous, one of my favorite colors for sure. You know I don't own a single piece of jadeite, may have to remedy that one day soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely post. Stay warm and dry. I'm loving this gorgeous winter weather too.
So glad you are enjoying your first winter up here, it really is beautiful, and forces you to stay inside and take stock!! Love your display.....esp. the match safe!! My mom had one like that on the wall by the stove......in those days you had to light the pilot light to run the oven.......am I dating myself?? Stay warm.....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Sheila ! Love those chickens !!
ReplyDeleteWe have alot of snow here too :)
You did a lovely job, Shelia! I love Jadeite. The fruit really does look real :)

What a wonderful vignette you have created, Sheila! The Jadeite is beautiful. I LOVE your red blender and your scale. Did you see my new scale? I am so excited that I fianlly found one! I never would have guessed your fruit faux!!! We grew up in my Grandmothers house and we had a match holder just like yours!!!!!!!! I wish I had it, it sure brings back memories. Have a great weekend and hope you stay warm and cozy!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty Jadeite, Shelia! It's those pretty pops of color that help me get through the dreary Winter.
ReplyDeleteI love your Jadeite collection Shelia. Did you see the article in the newest Country Living magazine?? You need to. And you'll drool over it. lol
ReplyDeleteThat platter goes great with your Jadeite, Shelia! I noticed your little matchbox holder in the first picture. Such a cute little thing!
ReplyDeleteLove that color and I have a new piece I bought recently. I found a jadeite colored mason jar in a little shop.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Glad you don't mind the snow. The snow has missed us this year.
ReplyDeleteThat space looks so pretty Shelia...such a beautiful color! Those colors look so pretty with you white cabinets.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the pretty green and the song made my day … I have green eyes and remember this song! xox
ReplyDeleteLove the cheerful color you put together here! I never knew what jadeite was until my Martha Stewart days. I guess it's her favorite or was anyway. That platter looks great ther- I wouldn't have guessed you had mod podged it! Snow isn't all that bad is it! It's just frozen water :-) when spring comes you are going to eat up the smell of the air and be in awe to see nature waking up again! Truly a wonderful time of the year!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous display Sheila! I just shared Country Livings photo on my instagram and it was an entire display of the jadeite. Your picture should be in the issue as well. It's gorgeous. Of course I love the rooster too!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, Oh I just love your darling vignette. What a wonderful display of your jadeite and perfect to take you right into spring. The pop of red is extra special. Love your hand created plate and the pattern is beautiful with your green. Enjoy the snow and the days to cozy up inside. Here in Texas we are predicted a warm weekend.
ReplyDeleteSending Hugs!!
CM
We had that same exact matchbox in our kitchen when I was growing up! Now that I look at it, I wonder if it was meant to match some of the Hall's Kitchenware. The colors are very much the same.
ReplyDeleteLove your jadeite too! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful display, Shelia! I love your jadeites, pretty greens!...Christine
ReplyDeleteAll that pretty jadeite would warm up the coldest winter day. I admire you for taking on the new winter lifestyle with a positive attitude. Don't know that this Texas girl could. Ha! I've been complaining about the grey cold days here, and of course there isn't a spot of snow. Stay warm and keep that sunny attitude, Shelia.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful display, I love jadeite as much as my Pyrex. I have the same swirl bowls. Actually have some on my hoosier cabinet now with some Valentines. Don't you love those old match holders, I have one at my Grandparents house I have to take off the wall because the matches get stuck! Nothing wrong with being stuck in at home, would love it!
ReplyDeleteLove your collection!
ReplyDelete- Alma, The Tablescaper
I just love Jadite, too - and have a few pieces. The color adds such a soft warmth to my kitchen. Your area looks like a little hutch - so cute!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Jadite, I don't have any. Wait! I do have one bowl..and I love it. It's a mixing bowl and a pitcher..great for making pancakes. How could I have forgotten it! What an adorable little cabinet..what a great place to decorate!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any Jadite but do like it a lot. Those fruit sure look real!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend
Jeannette
Love the Jadite! It looks darling on your cabinet. That floral plate just completes the vignette.
