Like I said, please don't laugh. I took these snaps with a little point and shoot and they are not too good and our renter was moving out so you'll see some of his stuff. I was getting measurements. I'll let you take a peek if you promise not to laugh. This is the entry! :) Boy, I can really poke a lot of things in here, can't I? :)
The condo has a vaulted ceiling in the living room and that helps to make it look a tad bigger. Are you laughing? I heard someone giggle. :)
Teeny tiny fireplace with no mantel. Now we've had this unit for about 9 years and we used to come over and spend weekends here sometimes. I'd also come over to be close to my little mother who lived just below - we used an intercom in case she needed me.
Well, I was in a 'gold' mood all those years ago and painted the walls. What was I thinking? Looks kinda mustardy. Are you craving a hot dog or a hamburger? I am! ;0
This is looking from the living room to the tiny dining room on the left and the kitchen is on the right.
Behind those doors is the tiny little pantry. Are you ready?
You promised not to laugh! Attack of the killer water heater! :)To the right of the tiny dining room is the tiny little kitchen and honey, I mean tiny!
We bought new appliances around 9 years ago and then decided we'd rent the place. I had wallpapered the kitchen with a Rooster wallpaper and I believe I'll keep it. I loved the yardbirds then and I love them now.
I had painted the cabinets a soft yellow all those years ago and notice there are no knobs on the doors or drawers. I've got some fixin' to do.
The laundry room! Please, no laughing!
The master bedroom! Well, the guy was moving out after all. I heard another giggle! No, I heard a lot of giggles!
Hello, there! This is the only little bathroom, A tiny little bathroom. Do you see the hairdryer on the wall? Yep, just like a hotel. Fancy schmacy, I'll tellin' ya! :) Olden yucky medicine cabinet in the wall! Like I said, I've got some fixin' to do. Guess what? I'll be the first gal to ever have lived here. The first two owners of the condo were single guys and our long time renter guy was single. So I've got to get some girly going on here y'all.
Well, this is where we're going to live for awhile. Are we crazy? Our house was 3,660 square feet and the tiny condo is 905. Needless to say, lots has gone into storage.

I do have something marvelous to tell you. I know I've told you before but I love saying it...we're going to travel in Kiki for a while and then...are you ready...we'll be buying a house in New York close to our grandbabies! Yip yip! I'm so excited about that. Don't know exactly when that will be but it will be. So, I'd love for you to come along with me on my journey as we start to fix up The Little House'.

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
So Happy Together
Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
So happy together
If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine
So happy together
I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
For all my life
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together
I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life

Hi, It's a darling little condo and you will have fun being creative. Yes, I'll be following along on this new and exciting adventure.
ReplyDeleteFabulous news - our last home went on the market Thursday and we got a full price contract yesterday!
Praise the Lord!
I like it and I think you'll really enjoy it as your 'home base' for awhile! What fun to travel! When you get your things in here, you'll feel so free and light. You may not want another big house again! We have a condo in NC and it's fun to be there...so much less work to do! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI love reading about your adventure! I would have a ball decorating the small, but with potential, condo! And it has good karma.
ReplyDeletewow, thats adorable..talk about being able to clean quick!!!
ReplyDeleteShelia, it's a very nice condo and it will work out fine until you get ready to move to New York. How fun to re-do the condo and travel in Kiki Your going to have a ball.
ReplyDeleteMary
It's a nice size and easy for you to maintain. The vaulted ceiling really does add some volume to the room. I expect you won't be there all that much and will do just fine in the smaller rooms. I bet the homes in NY are pretty pricey! That's going to be quite a change for you guys!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing what you do in your new little condo (or flat as we would call it over here). It looks like a great little place to have as a base while you gad about and see the country and then look for a place nearer to your grandbabies.
ReplyDeleteblessings,
Diana
Shelia,
ReplyDeleteThe Little House is HUGE on possibilities!!!
I love seeing al the "Before" photos and yes, dear friend,
I'll be along on your journey! Not only for the "fixin'"of
The Little House, but your move to be near your daughter
and the "grands", as well!!!
Now honestly, I didn't giggle or laugh. . .not even once!
I knew those were roos and yard birds in the wall paper, though!!!
The Little House will look like a Little "Doll" House once you
wave your magical wand and put your "girly" touches here and there!!!
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
Fondly,
Pat
I think it's going to be perfect and you will work your magic on the place and make it beautiful for sure :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's great! I love the rooster wallpaper too! You'll have it girlified before we know it!! Can't wait to follow you in this adventure!!
ReplyDeleteOh you will have a ball fixing this place up and getting settled in. Then traveling will be super fun too. So glad you house sold. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteYou will enjoy the challenge of small living! It's really fun to downsize and live lighter. I can't wait to see how cute you make the Condo!!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
I just know you will turn this space into a gem of cute & coziness! Have fun working your magic!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
I think it sounds like a grand plan. I know you'll have the condo feeling like home in no time.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Shelia! I'm sure you will do miracles decorating the Little House. Hugs, Cristina
ReplyDeleteHello Shelia....I'm doing something similar. I've bought a small cottage and am selling my large Victorian home. It is quite the change, but I wanted to be nearer my children. Good luck with your new decorating.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing opportunity! I think its great to be able to place your things in storage, have a cozy condo and be able to travel as you please...that's GREAT! Have FUN!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
looking forward to seeing what you do to the place.
ReplyDeleteEach time I moved, there were adjustments.
Hope you have fun in this new adventure.
d
Exciting times. If all these moves gets you close to your kiddos then it is worth it. I lived in a 770 square foot house 33 years ago. It can be done, xo, olive
ReplyDeleteIt seems very compact and will be a good "home base" for you and hubby while you travel, Shelia. I think once you put some of your touches in place it will feel quite homey!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Now that is BIG news! Congratulations! :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting. :)
~Liz
I think your condo will be charming when you finish it. How exciting to be moving the NY!
ReplyDeleteI think that your apartment looks lovely! Funny to see how tastes and styles and fashion change over the years though isn't it. No doubt you thought that it all looked very up to the minute when you decorated, but it isn't surprising that you want something different now. I hope that you get it all fixed up how you want it to be very soon. xx
ReplyDeleteWho would laugh? It's simply lovely -- I can't wait to see it with your furniture and pretties within!
ReplyDeleteI did not giggle until I saw your reflection in the bathroom mirror! Can not wait to see what you do with the place. Love that wallpaper too! And can't wait to see what you buy in NY.
ReplyDeleteSheila, I did not giggle one time! It ight be small but it adorable...and it will be much more adorabler (:)) when you do your "thang" to it! I am loving those roosters on the wall too...I am not only a fan of roosters but also of wallpaper! I know you will turn it into a showplace, just as you your beautiful home! Looking forward to seeing the transformation!
ReplyDeleteNo laughter here! Just smiling about how cute your little condo will be when you work your magic on it. It has such potential to be a sweet place and I'm thrilled that you will be able to travel before you settle down near your kids. Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
I'm really excited for you guys! ♥
ReplyDeleteI think your condo is very cute! I so appreciated your post when you told us about your moving. I could identify with many things you were saying. Thanks for your transparency about leaving your church, I had a very similar experience. But isn't it great how the Lord leads us on! My favorite scripture is Psalms 32:8, it's about how God guides us through the BEST pathway for us!
ReplyDeleteI am coming into a new season as well, you know that I am a widow right? Well I with the Lord's guidance have decided to retire from my job this June at the end of the school year. It was a major decision for me, considering that I am alone, but God is with me and I know I made the correct choice. To be honest, some days I feel a little scared, but most days I have confidence and excitement about what my next season will be. Want to sell the house and move to a much smaller place like you guys, looking at going south of here (NJ). That's my plan, but I will see what God has for me. Thanks for listening and sharing your update! Sending hugs, prayers and good wishes!
Shelia,
ReplyDeleteOkay, you got me.... my townhouse is a little over 1000 sq. feet. I do like the vaulted ceilings. And I do like the red hood and the wall paper. Knowing you, you will make this all look great and i can't wait to see the transformation!! It is so much easier not taking care of a huge house....
Thanks for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Deb
No laughing here! I'm excited for you and the adventure ahead! I can't wait to see how you transform the condo and follow you on your travels.
ReplyDeleteCandy
I love the lofted ceiling...and can certainly understand why you'd want a RED hood over your range. I also get WHY you wanted the red rooster (bird) wallpaper! Quite a change in size between the BIG HOUSE and the LITTLE HOUSE...but you'll do just fine. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jan ♥
Oh...speaking of mustard...I have a recipe that would go great with mustard - posted it late lastnight!! Good for a crowd or even for 2!! Yep...hot dogs...but special!!
ReplyDeleteActuallly, my kitchen walls have a butternut squash/mustard look and I love it!! Just think, you hear how everyone is downsizing their living spaces and it will definately save on utilities!! Enjoy the "Little House". I am excited to watch your progress and I think it is very nice!! BTW, I didn't giggle once!!! Have fun!!
ReplyDeleteOh Shelia,
ReplyDeleteYou're going to be having so much fun fixing up this doll house, but the BEST TIME will be when you move to be close to your family. (Remember, I speak from experience.)
I have no suggestions for you as to where you'll put all of your fun items and all of those dishes. But, I have no doubt that you'll have a blast making the decisions.
How exciting that you'll be with your grandbabies in NY! That and your traveling make this all worth while. I love the high ceilings -- I'm sure you'll turn it into a little showplace!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will be quite cozy and comfortable in your condo, Shelia. Our daughter and her hubby lived in a 735 sq. ft. one for a couple of years and even had their first baby there. He slept in the dining room right next to the living room for a while until they bought a house. It can work! lol And you will be traveling in Kiki a lot too. It'll be lil coming back to your own 'hotel' suite with your own bed! Blessings. Pam
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, Your darling condo is so sweet and cozy. No giggles here, I love it!! You will have it filled with your magic in no time at all. Love the red and yellow in the kitchen. You are going to have so much fun setting up to make this home even for a little while as you travel in Kiki. The best part is, the journey takes you to NY and a new home, grandbabies and lots of memories. Love going on this journey with you and the fun of following along.
ReplyDeleteBe Blessed my friend.
Hugs!!
what exciting adventures are coming your way, how fun and amazing...I wish you well and know you are gonna have the time of your life, just sittin around the same old place doin the same old thing has never appealed to me, hope I get a chance to do a great adventure...hurray
ReplyDeleteI didn't laugh. I think you will make it cozy. Have fun in traveling and I know you will find the perfect home in NY.
ReplyDeleteShelia I think it's fine for 2. Cosy little winter nights, cheap on heating and cooling too. More to spend on travel hey. Enjoy your exciting new adventure. It's sounds like such fun.
ReplyDeleteOh how exciting..a new chapter in life. You will work wonders and you home will become beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog the other day. All the amigurumi has all been given to my grands.
Have a lovely day! Linda
Shelia it's perfect for the two of you...love the tall vaulted ceiling and I love that wallpaper! Your going to add all your special touches and it's going to look beautiful!!
ReplyDeletei love that you have such an open kitchen....makes it less tiny!
ReplyDeleteSheila, the little condo as you call it is adorable! Seriously, you are just used to such a big house but the thing is my friend...we can make anywhere a home and you are just the person to do just that! Thanks for sharing with us. I love being a part of your life with friendship. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
