Hello, Dear Ones.
Well here lately I've been visiting lots of thrift shops and hitting the jackpot!
I love that, don't you?
Lookee at what I found!
Some more Jadeite!
Hop hop skippity hop!
Jumping up, spinning around, touching the ground!
Get down, turn around, go to town...boot scootin' boogie!
Well, you've seen my little salt and peppers but they fit so well with my other new pieces so I just added them to the vignette.
Is this not the sweetest little butter dish you've ever seen?
It has a little criss cross pattern across the top.
Then...screaming on the insides so I won't scare Mr. Precious...
this biscuit jar!
Oh, she's gorgeous!
Now these pieces are not old ~ they're reproductions.
Do I care?
Shoot no!
I don't care here and I don't care there. Heck, I don't care anywhere! :)
Do I care?
Shoot no!
I don't care here and I don't care there. Heck, I don't care anywhere! :)
I have an olden biscuit jar just like my new Jadeite one but it's blue.
I've put these little things right next to my cook top so I can grab the salt and pepper while I cook. I don't have any butter in my dish yet but I've poked my biscuit jar full of little sweetner packets.
I would love to have all vintage Jadeite, my bowls are all olden, but on doing a little research I found out the newer reproduced Jadeite is really more durable. The olden kind has bubbles and imperfections in the glass sometimes because of the way they were manufactured and can break or crack more easily.
It doesn't bother me if it's vintage or not ~ I. LOVE. JADEITE!!
I'll calm down now. :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Dream A Little Dream (did you know this song is originally from 1931 and was sung by Ozzie Nelson of the old time show 'Ozzie and Harriet'? You know, Ricky Nelson's dad. I've put that version at the end of the lyrics and thought you might enjoy it. Good music never dies, Dear Ones!)
Stars shining bright above you;
Night breezes seem to whisper 'I love you'.
Birds singing in the sycamore tree.
Dream a little dream of me.
Say nighty-night and kiss me;
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me.
While I'm alone, blue as can be,
Dream a little dream of me.
Stars fading but I linger on, dear -
Still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear,
Just saying this...
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you -
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you.
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me.
Stars fading but I linger on, dear -
Still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear,
Just saying this...
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you -
Sweet dreams that leave all worries far behind you.
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me.
~ sung by Mama Cass of The Mamas and The Papas

ReplyDeleteJadite is so pretty !
ReplyDeleteYou remind me of my grandmother. Well, not you but your jadite. She had a huge collection that she used all the time. Nanny called it her "kitchen dishes" and she used them there and on the kitchen table. Never the dining room as that was for the good china. I never see a piece that I don't think of her.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie

You are a very good girl that loves her jadeite. And, I know the jadeite must love you. It scoots to the front when it sees you coming so it can go home with you.
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila, Love your jadeite!! You sure found some great new treasures and that biscuit jar is gorgeous. I love the way your jadeite looks against the granite. Love the song too and this version. I haven't played this one on the piano in a long time. I may have to dig out my music as now it's in my head.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day.

Pretty pieces! I wish I had bought Jadeite dishes way back when I first started going to estate sales, before Martha Stewart made the prices go through the roof. I don't care if the pieces are reproduction either. They look just as sweet whether they are old or new.
ReplyDeleteYour jadeite is beautiful! I've always been fascinated with the pieces I see in vintage shops. You have a nice collection.
