Hello, Dear Ones!
First of all I wanted you to see my new header and I've done a few other little things on my blog.
I got all of my inspiration and tutes from our Brenda at Cozy Little House. She has another blog with blogging tutes and you'll find all kinds of things for your blog. Pop on over to Brenda's Blog Tips.
Okay, I've been so busy I realized I forgot to show you the little Christmas felties I made for Carter!
This is a photo heavy post so grab a cookie and a cup of Wassail and just sit back and relax.
Most of your know I've been making little felt ornaments for my little granddaughter, Carter.
I've made for all seasons and only Christmas was left so I went to town felting! I poked them all on my little feather tree to show you before I pack them up for her.
I took them to her when we went to have an early Christmas.
I took them to her when we went to have an early Christmas.
So do you like them? I had so much fun making these little cuties and all my thanks to the clever ones who have pinned on Pinterest. I am totally a copy cat.
Hope that's legal! :)
Course I'm gonna break it down so you can see the ornies up close and personal.
I had to make Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus for the top of the tree.
This is my granddog, Findley. He's a chocolate lab but I knew if I made him in brown his little eyes and nose would not show up. So I improvised.
Have to have reindeer at Christmas and I made two brown ones and...
...one blonde! :) I sewed on little beads for their noses.
Oops! I see a stray white piece of embroidery floss!
Just keepin' it real, folks. :)
I made three little Frostys and added a little bitty jingle bell to his scarf. More beads for the noses.
Three Santies ~ added a jingle bell to his hat and he got a jolly red bead for his nose.
Three stars of Wonder!
Three little Christmas trees with beads and garland of course.
My stitches are certainly not perfect but that's okay.
All ornies are stuffed with a little polyester stuffing except the trees.
There you have it. My cute little ornies for Carter.
As you can see, she loved them and hope you do too!
I put a heart over her opened PJs. She was giving herself a checkup and was all opened up! ;)
Gotta love that silly little girl.

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
Rocking around the Christmas Tree
at the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Ev'ry couple tries to stop
You will get a sentimental feeling When you hear voices singing
"Let's be jolly; Deck the halls with boughs of holly" Rocking around the Christmas Tree
Have a happy holiday
Everyone's dancing merrily
In a new old fashioned way
Rocking around the Christmas Tree
Let the Christmas Spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie
and we'll do some caroling
You will get a sentimental feeling When you hear voices singing

ReplyDeleteAh simply perfect as always. Glad you remembered to show us, let me see if I can choose a favorite. Of course I love Mary Joseph and Baby Jesus best, but I really love the lab, but then I really love the star and the reindeer and ... well what's Christmas without Santy, I simply can't choose! Looks like she loves them, too, and hope her check-up turned out good ;)
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs ~ Mary
Well, your felt ornaments are adorable! Of course you can do something you see on Pinterest. If they don't want someone to make it, they shouldn't put it on there. Carter looks SO much like you. And your header is stunning! I have NO idea how you did that color wave thing. So do tell.
ReplyDeleteBrenda

ReplyDeleteShelia, these are adorable! I know little Miss Carter is going to cherish these for a lifetime. They are perfect for the joy of decorating and redecorating her own little tree to her heart's content. You are a thoughtful and very talented grandmother.
ReplyDeleteYour felties are sooooooooo cute and I know that Carter loved them. You did such a wonderful job on them - they are darling! Such a good grandma to your babies. Carter is a little doll.

Shelia, you are the best grandmother. Your babes are going to adore you forever. Carter will be glad you preserved her modesty.
ReplyDeleteThe ornaments are darling...!!! I love every one. And, your blog looks great, too.
I just found your blog this past weekend and am really enjoying it! Your grand baby is precious. I have 3 of my own from 4 to 8. I made a bunch of felt ornaments this Christmas, too. I just love working with felt! My favorites of yours are the nativity, the dog, and the reindeer. Do you ever do tutorials or share patterns on your blog or anything? I'm not good at drawing, so wouldn't try patterns myself unless they are already drawn out. Glad I found your blog!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I do love your felties! They are adorable! Carter must ahve been delighted to get these! Can't help but imagine that when little Carter is a grown up, she will look at the things you have made her and treasure them even more! Those gifts will continue to give for years to come!
ReplyDeleteLove the new header!
I love your header Shelia! I do a lot of sewing with felt, it's so fun. but I love your ornies! Just too cute!
ReplyDeleteShelia, little Carter is very lucky to have you for a grandmother!! I just love these felt ornies! I remember the ones you made her for Easter last year, and I just fell in love with those. I think all of these are great, but I especially like the Frostys and the Santas with the curlie-q stitching on their beards. :) You know that your granddaughter will treasure these for her whole life; they're just so precious, and I can tell a lot of work went into each one.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we got to see these, Shelia. Hope you have a great week!
Hugs,
Denise
Sheila, these are simply darling! I love all of the little details. Years ago I made a lot of felt ornaments for our tree. I blanket stitched them like you did. I am not sure where they ended up. Sure wish I had them! Lots of hours went into those little things. Which I'm sure you know! Carter is too cute. Hope she doesn't have a temperature! Lol!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Forgot to say that I loved your new header. Also, thanks for the link to Brenda's tips. Need all the help I can get. lol!

ReplyDeleteWhy thank you, Deb! Happy New Year to you too.
