Hello Dear Ones!
Well, the new year is moving right along.
I have all of my Christmas decorations put up and stored away and even went through and tried to discard the stuff I never use.
I'm on a roll now. I'm trying to go through my house and declutter and get rid of the things that just do not matter any more.
You know what kind of stuff I'm talking about...junk, magazines, things like 'I may need that' that I never needed! :)
Even cleaned out my clothes closets and took lots of things to Goodwill.
I'm beginning to feel so much better, lighter, more organized.
You know that feeling, right?
Just trying to get all of my priorities in order and I think that's a good way to start out the new year.
I won't even tell you how many boxes of just junkie stuff that went to the garbage.
Before I go I wanted to tell you something. I was having some trouble with some bloggy issues and Brenda from Cozy Little House was such a help to me. She wants no credit for anything she does but I have to give credit to whom it is due! Thank you, Brenda, for all of your help. She is a real sweetie,
You are all my sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~ love me some Peter Noone :)
Something Good
Woke up this morning feelin' fine
There's something special on my mind
Last night I met a new girl in the neighborhood, whoa yeah
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)
She's the kind of girl who's not too shy
And I can tell I'm her kind of guy
She danced close to me like I hoped she would
(She danced with me like I hoped she would)
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)
We only danced for a minute or two
But then she stuck close to me the whole night through
Can I be fallin' in love?
(She's everything I've been dreamin' of)
She's everything I've been dreamin' of
I walked her home and she held my hand
I knew it couldn't be just a one-night stand
So I asked to see her next week and she told me I could
(I asked to see her and she told me I could)
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)
(Something tells me I'm into something, ahhh)
I walked her home and she held my hand
I knew it couldn't be just a one-night stand
So I asked to see her next week and she told me I could
(I asked to see her and she told me I could)
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)
Something tells me I'm into something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)
To something good, oh yeah, something good
(Something tells me I'm into something)

Good for you for having all of your Christmas pretties put away - you had quite alot of them! I ended the year with a good clearing out of things...and you're right, it feels sooooo good.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day...Hugs, Jan
You are the sweetie, too, and yes I love getting rid of stuff. So I know how you feel, freer and lighter, getting rid of things like that. I think growing up with parents from the Depression, some of their "keep this I might need it later" mindset spilled over onto us. Well, I hope you had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year and I love your little lamb :)
ReplyDeleteHugs ~ Mary
It does feel good to get things cleared out and put away! Glad you got some help with your blogging problems, Brenda is always so eager to help, she is such a kind person!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
I'm working on clearing out stuff I "might need", but haven't, too! It really does feel good to donate it and just get more organized.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty at your house and your blog has a new look too! I want to do the same thing. Mine has been the same for several years now! Brenda has helped me before too. She's a peach!
ReplyDeleteYou are so far ahead of the game! Lookin' good, girlfriend!
ReplyDeleteI need to declutter desperately!
xo
Sheila
Oh yes, I'm hopeful that LOTS of people will be getting rid of stuff that I want for me or my future booth! :)
ReplyDeleteI need to start my 'new year' clutter removal. Always such a good feeling to get organized.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
I do that twice a year, getting rid of things I don't need or want and it is a wonderful feeling.
ReplyDeleteHi! Happy New Decluttered Year! Doing the same!!
ReplyDeleteI am in the process of doing the same, why keep those things you never use. Good for you girl :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Uncluttered New Year to ya Pretty Lady.. love your new hairdo- makes ya look so young.
ReplyDeleteI was able to clean out 4 more containers as I put m holiday decor away.. I have hopes of only having 5 containers and the tree by next year.. Its time to pass the pretties on to other families to enjoy.. Makes me smile to think how happy they will be with their new treasures..
xoxo

Shelia, I know that feeling!! I've been downsizing since summer and think I'm making big progress. I donated a lot of Christmas items already and as I'm cleaning up and putting away Christmas, I've got another box to go to the thrift shop. It does feel sooooo goood! That Brenda is such a sweetie and a great friend to us bloggers! Big Hugs to you! Linda
ReplyDeleteI am doing the same thing, Shelia! It is freeing, isn't it? Brenda is SUCH a good soul- always helpful. I am glad she was able to help you- xo Diana
ReplyDeletePurging out is one of my 2014 goals. But I'm not ready to say goodbye to Christmas yet! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteI need to get rid of a lot of stuff myself. I started, but didn't realize how much junk I really had.LOL I love your blue dishes with the chicken on them.
ReplyDeleteThe same thing is happening here, purging and cleaning!!! I've got tables set up in the basement for sorting, throwing out, saving, and off to the GW........lotsa work, but feels sooooooo good!!!
ReplyDeleteWe move so much, that we have very little clutter, but this year I did get rid of some old Chrismtas decorations that I have not used for years and dropped a hue pile of magazines off at our library. They have a "free, take all you want magazine table".
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year dear Shelia, decluttering and cleaning out closets is a regular new year pasttime for me too! I finished the day before yesterday and feel totally organised for the new year ahead.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Rose
Oh yes, I can see some changes, the comments look very different! Decluttering is great isn't it. I love a good clear out. I am a hoarder chucker, I seem to gather stuff and then I have a good clear out! Now we are in January it is time to tackle the filing cabinet.... Happy New Year to you - not sure if I've already said that to you this year! xx
ReplyDeleteAh...Herman's Hermits...loved them! Hey, if you took those rooster plates to the Goodwill, I would come get them...I'm betting you didn't though :)
ReplyDeleteLove your rooster plates - I have them in red. Hope you didn't get rid of them. I am in the process of taking down my Christmas decorations also. Trying to get it all packed up so my handyman can take it to the garage tomorrow. I can lift things as my back is giving me a fit.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my to do items on my list - declutter and I am sticking to my guns this year.
Have a great week Shelia
Mary
Oh yes, I do get the de-cluttering thing! Will be doing more of that later this year when we move again! And I LOVE those Rooster plates....GORGEOUS! Thanks for the sweet comments on the cottage renovation....a massive true labor of love! blessings~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteYes!!! Dear friend, I, too know that feeling of letting go!!!
Until one experiences it for themselves, it is difficult to describe!!!
"Mr. Ed" & I are still eliminating "stuff" here on the Prairie.
The ladies at our Thrift Shop never seem to tire of the boxes we donate!!!
Love your vignettes!!! Your Rooster place setting is stunning!
Looking forward to seeing more from Note Songs in 2014!!!
Fondly,
Pat
We took two cars full of stuff to Goodwill and I have so much more to clean out. Happy New year!
ReplyDeleteYOur lovely post inspired me to keep going..Our daughter while she was here got me to fill up 4 bags of "stuff" but Oh, my I could fill a dumpster!. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteWe're still Christmas-ing here at The Old Parsonage. Happy that your decluttering makes you happy. I'm in a nesting mood - not ready to declutter yet.
ReplyDeleteHappy new Year!
Leann
I've been "cleaning out" too Shelia...your right it's the perfect way to start the new year! Brenda is such a good person, glad she was able to help you out:)
ReplyDeleteOh you've really been busy Shelia. I am hoping to do the same this year, but I'll wait till the winter or at least till the weather is a little cooler.
ReplyDeleteI love your new blog look, it's so fresh.
Looking forward to checking in with you in 2014.
Diana
Have been working on the same thing here too! It does feel good to declutter and make room for the things we truly love!
ReplyDeleteGood Monday morning my sweet friend, Did you think I have forgotten you these past weeks. Not a chance. I have been on a blog break of sorts with very little posting and visiting. I have missed you.
ReplyDeleteI just spent some time catching up with everything I have missed. Your decorations are beautiful as always and your top 10 posts were no surprise to me. It was fun to see how you figured out the page views. I look at that every once in a while and it is always surprising at the world wide visitors that never comment on the news feed as well. Good job Shelia.
I am inspired by your 'cleanout' projects. I need to do that badly. I think about getting older and what my kids would have to contend with if I am called to our Lord. That in itself is motivating. Smile. I am on it!!!
Love you and miss you much
Jeanne
Come on over to my house and help me sort and donate and toss the extra stuff! Please???! We could have such fun but we might not get much accomplished. I planned to do the same thing after the first of the year but, as you know, my dear mother's health situation changed everything. That's what I need to focus on right now so the task will be waiting for me when I can change pace.
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
You are looking quite spiffy over here, my sweet sister.
