Hello, Dear Ones!
I want to wish you all a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving!
We all have so much to be thankful for and I thank God for all of my blessings.
I don't know if you all know what you mean to me but you're my blessings too.
This is the first time in over 17 years we've not had my little Mother with us for Thanksgiving.
Don't feel sorry or sad for me. She is rejoicing and feasting with Jesus today!
I just didn't want to cook up a big meal for just Mr. Precious and me so we're going to a beautiful old historic hotel for a lovely brunch. I'm looking forward to it and will try and finish my Christmasing in the house.
Well, I am going to make some cornbread dressing and a pumpkin pie! :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Give Thanks
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy OneGive thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"
Give thanks
We give thanks to You oh Lord
We give thanks

I was thinking about you not having your Mom this year. Your plans sound good to me! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving, Shelia. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Denise
Shelia, I have had this song on my mind lately too! Hope that you enjoy your Thanksgiving meal. I am right there with you, this is my first Thanksgiving without Daddy. I am thankful for the time that I had with him and for the opportunity to have been his daughter. Big hugs to you sweet Shelia!
ReplyDeleteBeen thinking of you and so glad you are going out to brunch.....change of scenery is good for you, start new traditions!! I am also spending the day bringing out Christmas decor...........love that song.........blessings....xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteSheila, Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. Precious. Brunch at a historic hotel sounds like a lovely way to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Brunch at a lovely historic hotel sounds wonderful. I am going out with friends to a restaurant. Since I am just me it's silly to cook a big meal for just me. But I do love my dressing ..... I could make a meal of just that LOL.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day with Mr. Precious - Happy Thanksgiving dear sweet Shelia..
I have already decorated three trees and working on finishing the rest of the decoration by Sunday.
Mary
Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteIt always feels a little differently around the first holidays, but you have the wonderful memories to help you through. And to do something a little different, like a brunch, sounds like a lovely idea.
Happy thanksgiving my friend! I'm thinking of you today....blessings to you and your sweet family. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteBig hugs and Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteLove that song! Happy Thanksgiving! We're having a quiet one, but I'm still thankful for it!
ReplyDeleteWishing you wonderful memories of time with you Mother and I know you are rejoicing for her. Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you this Thanksgiving and praying that you will have a happy one with Mr. Precious. I have no guests or family with me this year, it is a first, but I have such peace with the Lord and am having a wonderful day with my Bruno (Chihuahua)
ReplyDeleteMade myself a wonderful dinner and now I'm settling in to watch a good movie. Sending you hugs, I know you miss your Mom, but as you said she IS rejoicing with the Lord!
I at least got the bins of Christmas stuff out of the shed and up to the back porch...

Lovely song you quoted! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the weekend and I am looking forward to seeing your decked out house!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, I LOVE cornbread dressing. My mother was from Oklahoma and she made the most wonderful cornbread dressing when I was growing up and when I lived near my folks and could join them for Thanksgiving. I make it and though my hubby is Canadian he loves it and doesn't really care for any other kind.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, my friend, I am thankful for you, too!
Hi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how this day was going for you without you Mother. You are such a Godly example to each of us and thank you for that great faith you show us.
I was so happy to see the Give Thanks song on your post. Just this morning during my Bible time I started humming that song and wished I had the words to it...so thank you for sharing that.
Gina
Shelia, I am blessed by your strength. Your faith has me rejoicing in His love.
ReplyDeleteMay you have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving.
Hugs,
Patti
I have been thinking of you today. Sending love always.
ReplyDeleteI love cooking the big meal -- it's the cleaning up that gets me! I hope your dinner was as lovely as it sounded!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving. Your plans sounded nice and no dishes to wash :)
