Hello, Dear Ones.
Well I decided to tackle the table in the dining room
and came up with a simple little centerpiece.
I'm trying to go a little bit more simple this year!
Yeah, I know you're laughing...I'm not saying "I'm simple"! :)
I maybe just a little.
I tossed down an old doily made by little grandmother, grabbed my favorite white pitcher, poked some fauxs in it and poked down some pun'kins!
Done!
Nothing like a little falling on the dining room table!
Hope you're all doing well and you're falling around all over your house too!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Sheila ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Peaceful, Easy Feeling
I like the way your sparkling earrings lay,
against your skin so brown
and I wanna sleep with you
in the desert tonight
with a billion stars all around
'cause I got a peaceful easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the ground
And I found out a long time ago
what a woman can do to your soul
Ah, but she can't take you anyway
You don't already know how to go
and I got a peaceful, easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the ground
I get this feeling I may know you
as a lover and a friend
but this voice keeps whispering
in my other ear, tells me
I may never see you again
'cause I got a peaceful, easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing ...
'I'm already standing...
"yes, I'm already standing on the ground
oooo, oooo
and I wanna sleep with you
in the desert tonight
with a billion stars all around
'cause I got a peaceful easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the ground
And I found out a long time ago
what a woman can do to your soul
Ah, but she can't take you anyway
You don't already know how to go
and I got a peaceful, easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the ground
I get this feeling I may know you
as a lover and a friend
but this voice keeps whispering
in my other ear, tells me
I may never see you again
'cause I got a peaceful, easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing ...
'I'm already standing...
"yes, I'm already standing on the ground
oooo, oooo
~ sung by The Eagles
Simple is good. I just switch out a lot of my dishes and add fall coloured ones and a few fall touches of orange, Shelia. Just enough to make it cozy feeling. :) I like your pitcher and the doily and of course, your faux sunflowers. (I have them too!)
ReplyDeleteShelia, your table vignette is such a lovely touch of fall. How sweet to incorporate your grandmother's doily, along with your fall accents! Happy Fall to you!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Sheila! I love the white pitcher with the sunflowers and I'm a big fan of doilies. I just think they're charming (especially when they are like yours and made by a family member).
ReplyDeleteLovely center piece for your table - love the sunflowers. Have been busy decorating with my fall decor.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Mary
Very pretty, Shelia! Yes, I'm fallin' all over my porch! ♥
ReplyDeleteOh Sheila the sunflowers are just so beautiful this time of year...love the centerpiece with the little pumpkins, so darned cute...love that white pitcher too, can use for just everything...take care...Phyllis
ReplyDeleteI agree simple is sometimes better. I love the way it looks. Great job.
ReplyDeleteDearest Shelia,
ReplyDeleteI always love it when Autumn arrives at your place. Such lovely decorating and and awesome time of year over your way.
I bet you can't wait to stop 'falling' about and starting 'flying out' to meet that little someone!!
Hugs
Rose
How pretty Shelia, I love the sunflowers in the pitcher, found some at Trader Joes but they are long gone now, I did enjoy them though.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Shelia!
ReplyDeleteSometimes simple really is best.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Oh Simple One. (Not!)
LOVE that Eagles song.
I made a compilation tape (dating myself) years ago of my sweet Momma's favorite music...and had room for one more and just didn't know what to put on it - out of her favorites, as it were - so I put this one. And you know - she was so sweet - she would get to the end of the SECOND to last song then flip over the cassette and rewind to the first song......I caught her doing it over and over and asked her why with a gleam in my eye. Mom, who I never once heard utter a single mean thing EVER - God's truth of it - looked embarassed and didn't want to say and I coaxed it out of her (baited her really I knew the danged answer, I am a w eak ornery human unlike she) and she just softly said "Well, sweetie, I don't really know how you knew every single one of my favorite songs, but that last one is a little too country twang-y for me." I cannot EVER listen to it without seeing how horribly uncomfortable and how terrifically hilarious that is. Oh my Mom was The Original Sweetie to be sure. What a dear kind soul. Sigh.
Let there be twang! LOL! Hugs and love to you, doll face.
It is beautiful and simple is best sometimes.
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful, Shelia. I love those sunflowers... perfect with the doily and pumpkins. Fall is here -- welcome!
ReplyDeleteAh, love getting ready for Fall.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you at Seasonal Sundays.

ReplyDeleteHi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteSimple but very pretty! I like the elegance the doily brings to it. I am not "Falling" over here at my house just yet. :) Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers are wonderful in the white pitcher. I am seriously thinking of only putting out some white pumpkins. I am having too much stuff interfere with my decorating. xo, olive

ReplyDeleteYour table centrepiece is gorgeous! I love the sunflowers, you are very talented, dear lady!
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect, Shelia. You know I am a simple girl.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and your mother with love.
I havent been falling as of yet. I do love your style for tossing, poking, and falling that turns out a lovely vignette. Your dining table is perfect and you are in no way simple.
ReplyDeleteLove ya girl, Ginger
Pretty and simple, my favorite, Shelia! I especially like to keep our dining table simple since we eat there and I have to move things over every evening.
ReplyDeleteYes, this table does give me a peaceful, easy feeling! I love that song and I will be humming it all day now. Thank you for the reminder!! Linda
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, I have not done much lately except take care of my sister. Your Fall table centerpiece looks so pretty. Bill has to get up in the attic to get my Fall decorations down. You are inspiring me to get falling. Smile.
ReplyDeleteI am praying for your mom and all of you. I know this is a heartache for you. Keep your spirits up dear.
Love, Jeanne
I love fall colors. I found some creamy colored sunflowers, hydrangeas and another flower at Joann's the other day. I put them in a basket in the guest bedroom. I the flowers in the white pitcher. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI put all of my fall things out the other day. The trees are still so green but I can see touches of color in the leaves.
