Hello, Dear Ones!
I'm so excited to tell you that yesterday
I met Linda from A La Carte
I met Linda from A La Carte
And...this is how I saw her yesterday!
FACE TO FACE ~ and hugging!
Linda and I have been blogging back and forth for about four years and I felt as if I already knew her but meeting her in person was just the cherry on top!
Linda's mother lives in Houston and we had planned to meet before but her mother's health wasn't good and Linda didn't want to leave her.
This time her mother was doing so much better and Linda drove down to Galveston!
This time her mother was doing so much better and Linda drove down to Galveston!
Chloe Dawn wanted to get in on the snap too! :) Just look at that fat little tummy.
Oh, I fixed a little lunch for us and Mr. Precious joined us.
Now I must tell you something...don't always trust Pinterest.
I wanted to wow Linda with a delicious dessert
and I found the recipe for the perfect cake on Pinterest.
It looked and sounded delicious.
Well, it was just awful and I was so ashamed.
Just be warned.
Linda was nice and ate a few bites but trust me, it was awful!
Just awful!!
Anyway...
I told Linda I was scrubbing toilets for her! :)
So in the little powder room downstairs I put together a little vignette.
Grabbed my little toolbox, poked in some greens, soap and a Bunny Foo Foo!
Now I warned Bunny Foo Foo to mind her manners and not stare when Linda entered the bathroom.
She promised me she did not look! :)
It was thrilling to meet Linda and she brought me a little gift ~
a darling tea towel, Rooster napkins and a little green vintage bowl filled with candy!
Thank you so much, Linda, for the gifts and the visit!

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Thank You For Being A Friend
Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back again
your heart is true you're a pal and a confidant
I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see, the biggest gift would be from me
and the card attached would say,
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
If it's a car you lack
I'd surely buy you a cadillac
Whatever you need, anytime of the day or night
I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow
And when we both get older
With walking canes and hair of gray
Have no fear, even though it's hard to hear
I will stand real close and say,
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Let me tell you bout a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
And when we die and float away
Into the night, the Milky Way
You'll hear me call, as we ascend
I'll see you there, then once again
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
Whoa, tell you about a friend
(Thank you right now, for being a friend)
Thank you for being a friend
(I wanna tell you right now, and tell you again)
Thank you for being a friend
(I wanna thank you, thank you, for being a friend)
Thank you for being a friend

I've met four of my blogging friends (Virginia, Florida, Texas and Chicago) and they were all just as I expected them to be. What fun. All three of you, including Chloe Dawn of course, look like folks I'd just love to spend time with--bad dessert and all.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie

Bunny Foo Foo is adorable!
Fun post! I always use my family as guinea pigs to test the new recipes on! Poor them! I tried one from Pinterest that involved a soda as the liquid in a cake that was so BAD! At least you had some fun!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! That's a treat to meet someone you've been talking back and forth with for so long!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she didn't mind the cake, just having a chance to meet was the important part! You look so happy- including Chloe!

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for you both Shelia!! Just LOVED the photos. I'm just dying of curiosity - whatever was the cake????? Oh dear you poor darling. I don't think there's anything more exciting in blogland than actually 'meeting up' with someone who is a blog-friend. Your post left me smiling.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you all had a fun time Sheila! I find Pinterest very frustrating, love the pics, don't like having to hunt for the links:@)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great visit.
ReplyDeleteI've tried a few recipes that were failures, too. But it is the company that counts.
Awwww...How fun and very sweet. It is so neat to meet bloggers that we become friends with on line through this blogging community. You look so cute the two of you.

ReplyDeleteShelia I had the best time! I know my smile stayed on my face long after leaving your lovely home. You are as sweet and fun as I imagined and I know we talked like we had know each other forever! You didn't mention the wonderful lunch you prepared (chicken salad) it was delicious. I must admit the cake wasn't really 'great' but you know I didn't care! YOU are the reason I came to visit and I enjoyed meeting Mr. Precious and Chloe Dawn also. Oh and just to confirm, Bunny Foo Foo was a lady and turned her head while I used the facilities! Truly one of the best times ever. You are a true friend!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
PS I had to make a correction so sorry for the removed comment above...my fingers got lost on the keys there...lol. OH and I LOVE the song today!

ReplyDeleteHow fun to meet your long time blog friend in person. And what great pictures of you both. It's too bad about the cake but that's a good warning for us all to be our own guinea pigs first. :) Hugs, Pamela

ReplyDeleteShelia, I am so happy for the two of you. I know you had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI had the same thing happen to me with a pie. I now do a recipe test before I make it for friends. Sounds like a great day spent together.
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful Sheila!
ReplyDeleteyou two look so happy meeting each other.
I love your humor too, bunny didn't peak I hope!
Hugs,

Hello....so glad to have found you through Linda. I am your newest member, number 1081. I also live in Texas.
ReplyDeleteAh, lucky Linda! I would love to meet you, dearest Shelia. I love your little bathroom spring decor, especially the little bunny.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Sounds like a delightful meeting! I met several bloggers I've "known" for years last fall at the SBC, and it was so neat to put a live face with a blog! ...You both look beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI know you had fun with your sweet blogging friend. I am trying to imagine your cake being bad. I believe you though. Tried and true is the best way to go when having guests. I have been there and done that only with the main dish...the meat. Yikes! I learned the hard way. HA!
ReplyDeleteAt least Chloe Dawn didn't have to listen to a barking poodle that scared her. My Cheri' is not friendly to other dogs. She doesn't hurt them, she just barks. Sigh!
I'm glad you had a fun day. Your photos are darling.
Love, Jeanne
It's so much fun to meet a fellow blogger! Glad you had the chance, and looks like you enjoyed each other. Chloe Dawn looks happy (and adorable) too! My little Josey was groomed for the first time today. She looks so different. Have a wonderful week, Sheila.
