Hello, Dear Ones!
I pray you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
We sure did and guess what?
Yesterday was my birthday!
I turned the ripe old age of 61!
But in my heart I still feel like a youngster.
Anyway...I wanted to share with you what God gave me for my birthday...
LEMONS!!
We have a lemon tree out in the backyard and the fruit doesn't usually ripen until December around Christmas time. But this year they were ready on my birthday!
So many lemons and they needed a bath.
I thought I would make some lemonade!
I cut my lemons into and used my old juicer to gather my lemon juice.
I used a strainer to catch the seeds and pulp.
Almost there.
Now I can enjoy a nice glass of fresh lemonade.
Yummy!
Lemonade is not just for summertime.
Thank you,God, for my birthday present!
Here's my recipe if you'd like it::
Lemonade
5 cups of water
I cup of lemon juice
1 cup of sugar
Combine and stir. Easy peasy and you can always used bottled lemon juice, but fresh is always better.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I leave you with a little Note Song ~
Thank You, Lord
For all that You've done, I will thank You
For all the You're going to do
For all that You've promised
And all that You are
Is all that has carried me through
Jesus I thank You
And I thank You
Thank You Lord
And I thank You
Thank You Lord
Thank You for loving and setting me free
Thank You for giving Your life just for me
How I thank You
Jesus, I thank You
Gracefully thank You
Thank You
For all the You're going to do
For all that You've promised
And all that You are
Is all that has carried me through
Jesus I thank You
And I thank You
Thank You Lord
And I thank You
Thank You Lord
Thank You for loving and setting me free
Thank You for giving Your life just for me
How I thank You
Jesus, I thank You
Gracefully thank You
Thank You

ReplyDeleteHere is a poem for you and all of us at this time of our lives:
"Youth is like spring,
an over praised season
more remarkable
for biting winds than
genial breezes.
Autumn is the
mellower season, and
what we lose in flowers
we more than
gain in fruits."
~Samuel Butler
Keep gathering that fruit! Our God is good to us!
Love to you,
♥

ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful present! We planted a couple of lemon trees this year, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Have you ever heard that you can freeze lemons, then grate them over your dishes (the entire lemon)? Lemons are supposed to be kind of a super food health-wise.
