Hello, Dear Ones.
Last week I told you I was working on a project and now I'm going to share it with you.
I thought my den was looking rather bland.
This is how it did look.
I wanted to paint the backs of the builtins another color.
This is the before.
Now this is the after!
I'm loving it!
The backs were a beigey color just like the walls but I was tired of it and chose to paint them green.
The color is Haven by Sherwin Williams.
I know the two sides look like they are a different shade from one another but I think it's because the dog house is behind glass on the left.

From nice and calm...
to Let's Go and Look Sassy!
I'm loving it.
Do you like it?
I'm loving it.
Do you like it?
Here's the side by the chair where I sit and blog.
I think green is my favorite color right now.
My den is rather dark and it's hard to get bright pretty snaps.

Here's the dog house.
You saw my dogs after they were taken out of their house about a week ago.
They were so excited to get back into their house are loving their new house color.
See all of the smiles and wagging tails! :)
Here's another view of my den.
As you can see my sofa 'floats' as there are just no walls in here.
The only full wall is on the left where we have the TV cabinets.
The new painting I showed you last week is on a tiny little wall located about 6 feet or so behind the sofa.
If you look to the far right and one step down you'll see the sunporch.
Yep, and there's my exercise bike gathering dust!
I'm so talented like that - no sweating and stuff!
Hope you like my little change!

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
I Little Bit of Green
Now that the truth is hard to face
I can't forget you once were mine
Someone else is in my place
Whenever we meet my heart beats out of time
Just a little bit of green
Clouds my eyes to what I've seen
Just a little bit of green
When I see you with someone new
And knowing that there's nothing I can do
I can't forget you once were mine
Someone else is in my place
Whenever we meet my heart beats out of time
Just a little bit of green
Clouds my eyes to what I've seen
Just a little bit of green
When I see you with someone new
And knowing that there's nothing I can do
Please don't try to tie me down
Those are the words you often say
I can't help seeing you around
You smile with surprise, I turn my eyes away
Just a little bit of green
Oh-oh-ho, clouds my eyes to what I've seen
Just a little bit of green
When I see you with someone new
And knowing that there's nothing I can do
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Just a little bit of green
Oh-oh-ho, clouds my eyes to what I've seen
Just a little bit of green
When I see you with someone new
And knowing that there's nothing I can do
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Just a little bit of green

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the green, green is one of my favorite paint colors too. I feel it is a neutral that will go with anything. I loved seeing your whole den and sunroom. Such a big, open space. Love it. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI do like it! However, from your blog title, I was a little disappointed that you weren't going to give us a tutorial on printing money!! = )
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Looks great, all your things really stand out more. I love green too, the 'blue girls' though are starting to sway me, but I am not redecorating now. :) xo
ReplyDeleteAmazing! things just seem to pop instead of blending into the wall! Your dog house is amazing too!
ReplyDeleteYes, I like this very much!!! The green is soft and pretty, and your things really show up now. Love that tray on the shelf......and the dog house, how cute!!! You have such a beautiful home and what a nice sun room!!!
ReplyDelete"PERFECT"!!! when the hutch background is painted the same color as the walls it tends to make the hutch just look like shelves...You defined the hutches and made them "POP"! LOVE,LOVE,LOVE IT!!! "AND" OH MY I'm so in LOVE with your dog house...I have "ALWAYS" wanted staffordshire spaniels "BUT" I haven't gotten any "YET"!!! AHHHH, One day, but until then I'll have to just admire your sweeties!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week sitting back and LOVIN your new hutches...
Hugs,
Donna

ReplyDeleteFABBY
I just love your home...beautiful and very homey!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for popping in to see me and your sweet words.
DeleteShelia ;)
Shelia, that shade of green is lovely and makes your sweet puppies show up much better. I always say that pink and green are my favorite colors so Haven is pleasing to my eyes. As for the exercise equipment, I totally understand. Such a dainty lady as yourself should never have to work up a sweat (ugh) and besides you look great!------- Shannon
ReplyDeleteWow, what a difference paint makes! I love all your birds "stuff" too!
ReplyDeleteI like the green! It makes things on the shelves pop. I love to see all your doggies. ;-)

ReplyDeleteI like it too, Shelia! A pretty color to show off your great collections!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,

Sheila, I love the change. Back of mine are green, too. Great minds think alike.
ReplyDeleteI spotted the bike right off and thought to myself its know wonder this gal has so much energy. I have a glider and it sure enough is gathering dust. The doggies should be much happier. I like the new color. Nice space you have.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!!! I want so badly to paint our built-ins, white with an interior color - yay you!!!
ReplyDeleteThe green behind the prettyies looks great! It gives it a designer's touch. Beautiful. I did that once, years ago, in the color red and it made that area really pop, as the green does to yours. Then I had red pillows on the couch and red flowers in the draperies that I made and it brought it together so nicely.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Very pretty, Shelia! Just the right amount of color to draw your eyes to the built ins! I love your collection of pups! Your room looks so spacious. We practically touch knees sitting on chairs here! lol! Great job!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Oh Sheila the green backs look fantastic!! Green is one of my favorite colors. I think your sweet dog collection looks even more gorgeous with the green background.

I've always loved this room with the attached sun room -- and now, it is even better with the touch of green. Sally
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Sheila, it really makes your items show up. I love the white tray with the flowers between the little lamps. Again, I love your blog, it always brightens my day!
ReplyDeleteShelia- I love that color on the back of the cabinets. That is almost identical to the color of my dining room. It is usch a soft, pretty color, isn't it? It really brightens up your room and makes your collections pop out at you. What a pretty room and I love our sun room! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, its like a whole new room isn't it. I love how before, everything was pretty but now everything just POPS. Your sweet doggies look quite content. My oh my I did not realize you had quite that large of a collection. I have 3 sets, I am way behind you. :)

ReplyDeleteI love the green!! It just makes everything pop that you have displayed in the Built Ins!!
Great Transformation!!

It looks great, Shelia! It really makes things stand out over there now. The green was a nice choice because if you decorate the one side for the different holidays, the green should be able to tie in with everything. A small change with a big Wow factor!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! Green is my favorite color, so I was loving it the moment I saw your first picture! It sure has made everything pop. Very, very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI do like and I can tell the dogs do, too. Your china dogs remind me of the dogs at Patty's place. Do you know them? ♥
ReplyDeleteI am just loving it, Shelia. Green is so calming.

xoBarb
The green color really adds that pizazz you were looking for! I never realized that you had such a large collection of dog statues before. How nice! That is a nice place for them.

ReplyDeleteI'm dropping by to keep in touch. I never knew your dog collection was so large! I do prefer the color behind the two displays; it draws the eye. Good job! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do love it!! It looks wonderful Shelia!
ReplyDeletePerfect! I have been on quite a roll with the green lately too. It is the one color I don't seem to get tired of, and it goes with everything. I call it my new neutral!

Kelly
