Hello, Dear Ones!
I've been changing things up and spiffing up the dining room.
Wanna see?
I fiddled with a vignette on the table.
I admit it! I'm lazy.
I took the flowers out of my Currier and Ives casserole and just poked it down in this little fruited tureen. Lazy, lazy, lazy!
I've used my little table runner that I made last spring.
Then I messed with the buffet that you've seen 10 million times.
I love her though and she serves me well.
I never get tired of my dishes on the wall.
I've used some of my Dessert Rose Old Franciscan dishes to prettify the top of my buffet.
Don't you just love cloches?
Anything looks good under them.
Some of my Dessert Rose is olden and some pieces are newer.
The sugar, creamer and little salt and peppers are olden.
Now it's Little Richards time.
This is a pretty cake saver my mother gave me for Christmas.
I think the cut work all over it is so lovely.
If you're wondering, I've poked some pears underneath the top.
Here's a cute little olden Fostoria Colony footed dish.
Poked on a pear!
I love pears. Juicy ones!
Here is a little sugar and creamer.
More olden Fostoria Colony.
Just a very simple vignette atop of Little Richard.
Peeping here.
Peeping there.
I know you've seen my High Boy before but have I told you lately how I love this piece.
(kinda stole a few words from Rod Stewarts song, well actually it came from Van Morrison first).
I keep some tablecloths and lace doilies and such in these drawers.
Don't think I've shown you the ceiling medallion in here.
I should do something to it.
Paint it? Any suggestions?
I've fiddled and now I'm done!
Well, for a little while anyway. :)
Well, for a little while anyway. :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Have I Told You Lately That I Love You
Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one else above you
Fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do
For the morning sun and all its glory
Meets the day with hope and comfort too
You fill my life with laughter, somehow you make it better
Ease my troubles, that's what you do
There's a love that's defined
And it's yours and it's mine like the sun
And at the end of the day
We should give thanks and pray to the one, to the one
Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one else above you
Fill my heart with gladness, take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do
There's a love that's defined
And it's yours and it's mine like the sun
And at the end of the day
We should give thanks and pray to the one, to the one
And have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one else above you
You fill my heart with gladness, take away my sadness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do
Take away all my sadness, fill my life with gladness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do
Take away all my sadness, fill my life with gladness
Ease my troubles, that's what you do

ReplyDeleteIt's fun to change things around -- you inspired me to do a little. Maybe tomorrow - I'm pooped right now. "Good night, Sweetheart!" That's a Note Song isn't it???? Sally

ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty! Your room is really big. Love those curtains!
ReplyDeleteSheila, I left a lengthy comment, but I don't think it published. Here I go again, lol! Lazy never looked so lovely. Your Desert Rose collection is so pretty. I found a few pieces at a thrift store and bought them for a friend. I don't have alot of pink in my home and decided that I had better not start another collection. I love the cups and saucers stacked in the cloche. Also love, love your red plates. Are they transferware? Now that is one thing I would not be able to resist if I happened upon one.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann

ReplyDeleteShelia, your dining room looks wonderful. The dishes on the wall are very pretty. We have the Desert Rose dishes and accessories that you have and have enjoyed them for many years. Your salt and pepper shakers are cute. We had the tall ones that matched the dishes but one broke and has not been replaced. Actually, I don't see them anymore when I'm out and about. You and my Mom must have pretty similar tastes because she has that highboy in her bedroom. Your dining room is lovely after your fiddling. Have a great week!! --------------- Shannon
