Hello, Dear Ones!
I'm so excited because I found a vintage Fire King bowl.
Guess what I paid for it?
$1.50 ~ score!! :)
Knowing nothing about vintage bowls and such,
I did a little research on the computer to find out about my $1.50 bowl.
I found out the pattern is called 'Kitchen Aid'.
Wonder why? :)
I saw some bowls on line that said "Spags" on the rolling pin and found out those bowls were given to celebrate the stores anniversary, I think.
You can see all the different little baking things playing merry go round around the bowl.
I think this bowl may have been a series of three bowls, possibly.
If you know anything about this pattern, I'd love to know.
I do believe it came out in the 1950s.
Well, no matter, I love my little Kitchen Aid Fire King bowl.
I'm going to put her to work.

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
You Are The Sunshine of My Life
You are the sunshine of my life
That's why I'll always be around,
You are the apple of my eye,
Forever you'll stay in my heart
I feel like this is the beginning,
Though I've loved you for a million years,
And if I thought our love was ending,
I'd find myself drowning in my own tears
You are the sunshine of my life,
That's why I'll always stay around,
You are the apple of my eye,
Forever you'll stay in my heart
You must have known that I was lonely,
Because you came to my rescue,
And I know that this must be heaven,
How could so much love be inside of you?
You are the sunshine of my life, yeah,
That's why I'll always stay around,
You are the apple of my eye,
Forever you'll stay in my heart
That's why I'll always be around,
You are the apple of my eye,
Forever you'll stay in my heart
I feel like this is the beginning,
Though I've loved you for a million years,
And if I thought our love was ending,
I'd find myself drowning in my own tears
You are the sunshine of my life,
That's why I'll always stay around,
You are the apple of my eye,
Forever you'll stay in my heart
You must have known that I was lonely,
Because you came to my rescue,
And I know that this must be heaven,
How could so much love be inside of you?
You are the sunshine of my life, yeah,
That's why I'll always stay around,
You are the apple of my eye,
Forever you'll stay in my heart

ReplyDeleteI think it did come in a three bowl set. I've seen it before..but then I would, since I BEGAN my life in '54! Seems impossible. And what I mean by "began" my life..was my married life with kids and cooking and all that.
Not it's called "retro"...I don't get it. But I do love thing from back then and this is just the sweetest little bowl. And by the way, Shelia, you STOLE that bowl for that price!! :) Good job!

That's a sweet little bowl and in such great shape. It doesn't appear to have been washed in a dish washer, does it. That is one lucky find, my friend.

Wonderful find -- and red is the BEST!
ReplyDeleteA lot of those bowls did come in sets -- good for you for using it, too. Sometimes we just put things away and don't enjoy them, and that is a shame.
