Hello, Dear Ones!
I'm so excited to be joining Alison at The Polo House for her Favorites on the First - Front Door Party
I have double front doors (olden ones) so I have to have two wreaths.
I guess I could buy my wreaths but I always enjoy making them myself.
I went to Hobby Lobby looking for grapevine wreaths and found these oval ones.
I loved them and had to have them.
I just couldn't find flowers that were calling my name to use on my wreaths, so...
I grabbed some of my fabric and starting ripping strips and made shabby roses for my wreath!
I just love making these roses.
Then I added some spindly greens and some purpley spikes and I was done.
I just wanted kinda simple wreaths and I think I achieved that!
I did use my hot glue gun for attaching everything.
I'm so good with my glue gun...just sayin'. :)
I'm not sure how well these fabric roses will hold up outside so we'll see.
The sea air is rather hard on us and that's why our door looks so bad.
We need to shine them up again with stain ~ I just don't want to do it!
That's what Mr. Precious can do! :)
Oh, I know my wreaths aren't exactly alike. \The shape at the bottoms of my wreaths were a little different and as I glued down my flowers they just didn't turn out the same.
Do I care? No, no Nannette! I don't care a bit. :)

Here's a little mosaic of all my roses.
Ain't they purdy?
Ain't they purdy?
There you have it ~ my front doors all decked out in their new wreaths.
A few of you have asked for the tutorial on how I made the shabby roses.
Kathy from Sweet Up-North Mornings shared wonderful directions on her blog and I will forever be in gratitude to her for showing me how to make them! :)
You'll love her blog too! Just click HERE for the directions.
I'm also joining Natasha In Oz for her new party ~ Say G'Day Saturday,
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
Paint It Black
I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars and they're all painted black
With flowers and my love, both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a newborn baby it just happens ev'ryday
No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not forsee this thing happening to you
If I look hard enough into the setting sun
My love will laugh with me before the morning comes
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/r/rolling+stones/paint+it+black_20117875.html ]
I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black
I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
I wanna see it painted black, painted black
Black as night, black as coal
I wanna see the sun, blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black
Yeah
Hmm, hmm, hmm...

Hi Shelia, Your wreaths are adorable. I love those fabric shabby roses you made.

You wreaths are amazing. Perfect for the season since they remind me of beautifully decorated Easter Eggs. I think you did an amazing job with the roses. I did see a few ore of the blue bunnies and a different Ross in our area so I am guessing there are probably a lot of them. They were extremely inexpensive which is why I couldn't pass them up. Let me know if you don't find them and I could look again for you. Dianne
