Thought I would share this since I was asked why is a tea towel called a tea towel:
A tea towel is a cloth which is intended for the specific use of drying dishes and cutlery after they have been washed. In addition, clean tea towels may be spread over a tea tray beforetea things are put onto it, or used to cover warm scones or a tea pot to prevent heat loss.
Not to brag on myself or anything, but isn't this just the sweetest little tea towel? I love the fabric with the outlined Roosters! Sew cute.
And the ruffles! I love these over the top ruffles. Sew cute! Now I thought I'd be a little lazy and not sew and turn my ruffles like I did for my giveaway towels. I don't have a serger machine so I just used a zigzag stitch for the hems. Looks pretty good but took me 3 times as long! Well, my tiny talented fingers messed up that time. But I had started zigzagging sew I just continued!
I'm joining Savvy Southern Style for Wow Us Wednesday,
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
A Hard Day's Night
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright
You know I work all day to get you money to buy you things
And it's worth it just to hear you say you're gonna give me everything
So why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone
You know I feel okay
When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright
So why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone
You know I feel okay
When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, all through the night, yeah
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog

You've found such cute fabric and done such a good job! I can't wait to get back to sewing! ♥♥ I took the summer off! ♥♥
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia
ReplyDeleteYes, I have heard of it. It is an infection from the bite or scratch from a cat. There is a bacteria that causes swelling and soreness and if the person bit has a weak immune system they may have swollen lymph nodes. Antibiotics are prescribed in this case. Most people who are healthy will not have any symptoms other than a sore spot. "Bad kitty".....probably needs a little training. The best way to train a cat to not bite is to never play with it with your hands or feet and always have some kind of toy for it to bite and chew on. If the cat was being aggressive then she should get some help with changing its' behaviour. Wish her luck for me.
Oh Shelia,
ReplyDeleteYour tea towels are adorable. Love the fabric and those ruffles are just the sweetest. Now let me ask a very silly question...Why are they called tea towels? I know, I know...silly huh? But I really don't know :-) Anyways, awesome job with your little rooster and chicken vignette. Have a wonderful day.
Hugs and Kisses,
♥Ana

Hi Shelia, glad you got to sew for yourself! I've been sewing this weekend and it is so rewarding! I guess you could say we are a couple of "sew and sews"! Linda
ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteYour tea towels are adorable!~ I was just drooling over at Moda's website at some fabric that was sorta similar. We don't have a shop that sells it close by. I love your little vignette too. The cherries were cheaper this year than I have ever seen them. It must have been a good crop. Thanks for linking it up at Home Sweet Home!
