Hello, Dear Ones! I'm joining our
Dear Laura at Decor To Adore for her party today ~ High Tea Tablescapes! I have to admit I've been on a little break and just found out today about her party and certainly wanted to come. I love tea parties. So I hope you'll excuse me as I've pulled up a past post to party with today. This post was from 2008 when I first started blogging so enjoy it and be sure to pop over to Laura's for more parties and some tea and scones! :)
I'm so thrilled you're here to have tea with me today. It's a little special for me because I'm using some old Fostoria crystal that was passed down to me from my Aunt Alma after she passed away. Even when I was a very young girl she would tell me she wanted me to have her crystal. I was having tea parties way back then and she knew I would love and cherish her pieces. I do!
So come into the living room and sit down. I've dressed the table up just for you! I have a pretty old tablecloth here (I even ironed it) and everything is in place for our tea!
See the pretty Colony crystal plates? I think they're just so dainty.
Let me pour the tea. Oh, good! It's just perfect, not too strong, just right! Aren't the cup and saucer sweet, too?
What do you take in your tea?
A little sugar?
Some cream? Again, look at the Colony sugar and creamer.
I like to float a little slice of lemon on top of my tea. Doesn't it smell divine?
You know you just cannot have a proper tea without serving cucumber sandwiches. Would you like one? I just made them this morning.
Do you like the sandwich server? I don't get to use it enough.
A lemon poppy scone?
Here are some fresh blackberries in a perfect little bowl - Fostoria American pattern.
Biscuits dipped in chocolate (that's what the English call cookies)
in a three footed Colony crystal dish.
I put this together this morning just for you. I took one of my cake plates, and filled a American crystal glass with these little roses and topped them with my cloche. I think it looks very dainty and girly, don't you? Did I ever tell you how creative I am? :)

I've
even bought six long stemmed roses for this occasion and put them into a lovely crystal vase my Mr. Precious gave me. This vase is soooooooo heavy.
Can you smell the fragrance? Hmmm, I love the smell of roses.
Aw, and a little candlelight is always a good thing. Again, I'm using the little American patterned footed compotes for my candle holders.
Hope you've enjoyed coming to my little tea party.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
In My Life
There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
~ John Lennon/Paul McCartney
