Pink Saturday and Favorite Things

Hello, Dear Ones!

If you didn't know, I'm a new grandmother. I've been a grandmother for six entire months!
Our Dear Daughter and son-in-law gave us a darling little girl named Carter Ashlan.

We live many miles apart, oh the sadness, so we visit our little Carter through Skype and digital pictures. Little Carter turned six months old this week so I wanted to share a few pink pictures of our little darling ~ one of our very favorite things!!

Bear with me, I'm a new grandma! :)

This is my little dress I wore as a tiny baby.
I sent it to my daughter and she had
a little olden photo session with little Carter!
It looks white but it's actually a very soft light pink color.

Oh, what a little poser we have here!
I'm loving this.
Splish splash I was takin' a bath...wrapped a towel around me...
You know me and songs! :)
Is she cute or what?

Do you remember when she was born my daughter was so worried
because Carter wasn't gaining the weight she should?
I asked for your prayers.
Guess what?
You all prayed so hard and those prayers were answered!
Look ~
now we have a little pink chubby!

Dear Daughter said this was Carter's Audrey Hepburn look! :)
I love this little chubby tiny one.

I'm joining our Dear Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday and
Our Dear Laurie at Bargain Hunting and Chatting with Laurie
for A Few of My Favorite Things Saturday.

Before you leave me I want to invite you to a blog party I'm having on Wednesday, October 13th. It's a kitchen party and it should be lots of fun. To find out about it, just click on my party button that I've made with my most dainty little fingers for all the info. Oh, I do hope you'll come!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Can't Help Falling in Love with You

Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you

Like a river flows surely to the sea

Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you

Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you
For I can't help falling in love with you
~ sung by Elvis Presley

  32. Hi, Sheila. First, I wanted to say that I checked my list of blogs and was surprised to see that, although I THOUGHT I was a Follower of yours, I was NOT! So I just remedied that immediately and became a Follower! I always see your lovely comments on other blogs and I can't believe I hadn't become a Follower before now. Second, congratulations on becoming a Grandmother and your little Carter is one of the most adorable babies I have ever seen. With these pictures here, I want to eat her up! Oh, if I could have a gorgeous little grandbaby like this! My son is only 19, so I am not ready YET though. LOL! And you must be so proud of her wearing your little dress from when you were a baby. Thank God your Mother saved it. Well, I am off to visiting some of your earlier posts - I have to make up for lost time! :)
    Best regards,

  33. I actually came over to see your cloche post, Sheila, but got caught up in your beautiful granddaughter post. She is just gorgeous! I'll bet it is difficult to be far apart ~ I live close to my daughter but I work during the day and I am aching to see her by the time Friday arrives. This weekend it will be a full week until I see her {Sunday}. I keep one of those digital frames on my desk at work, but I don't know if it makes me feel better or worse! : )

Also, I had to tell you, my granddaughter was 5 pounds, 3 ounces at birth and just 9 weeks later looks wonderful! She really filled in!

  34. G'day Shelia ~ What an adorable chubette Carter is ... she so resembles you (facially) Shelia. How blessed you all re.

I did the same with our kid-lings in my baby clothes but they aren't as nicely shown as yours.

Where did the name Carter come from, family?

    Have a beautiful weekend ~
    TTFN ~ Hugs, Marydon

  35. Oh, my goodness, what a cutie patootie baby! and I'm loving that PiNk cap too.

  38. Carter is so precious!

  39. Your granddaughter is so adorable. She looks especially lovely in the outfit you used to wear when you were a baby. I think that's a sweet idea.

Regarding your three comments on these three posts on my blog:

In your three comments, you kept saying this one same thing which is: "Be a sweetie." I'm not sure what exactly you meant by that.

I am not sure whether or not you meant for me to FOLLOW YOU BACK via the "Follow with Google Friend Connect" widget. I just checked; you haven't followed my blog. I just checked my widget, and I didn't see your avatar on it. I just checked your blogger profile:
and I didn't see my blog name and link on it either.

Actually I have already followed one of your blogs a while ago. Please see the "Follow with Google Friend Connect" widget on your "Note Songs" blog, you will see my avatar "The Caffeinated Globe" between "Kelly Howard" and "Coralie Cederna Johnson."

I found your "Note Songs" blog from the "nice places to visit" list on this blog:

    Life on the Edge

  61. Hi Shelia. I was just scrolling through your blog, looking for something (but now I can't remember what!) and I realized I somehow missed seeing several of your posts, in particular these updated photos of Carter. Bad, bad me! Although in my defense, I have been back and forth between "My Cottage of Bliss" and "the house in Hooterville" a lot lately and when I'm in "Hooterville," I have no access to my favorite blogs. When I get back I try to play catch-up but obviously, I'm not doing as good at it as I thought I was. Ooops.

Anyway, I'm glad I got to see these sweet pics of Carter. She gets more adorable by the day but I sure can't believe she is 6 months old already. I'm so sorry you don't live closer to her so you can hold her and play with her in person anytime you want. :(

  62. Carter Ashlan has grown so much since I last visited. She has your eyes! What a precious blessing she is and that baby dress of yours is such a treasure. So happy she is healthy and thriving; Praise the Lord for answered prayers!

I'm so pleased you would come to see me and so please leave me a comment and I'll do my very best to respond back to you. Be a sweetie...Shelia :)
