Hello, Dear Ones. I've been changing a few things around in the dining room. Come on in...

This piece is lovingly called "Little Richard" and he needed a change! So I went to town! :)

I poked one of my silverware chests (olden and a bit scratched up) here and started to try and make "Little Richard" begin to look a little more like summer.

This little silver tea service was found at the Goodwill for $9!! It was still in it's little tiny box wrapped in plastic ~ brand new! I love this stuff, don't you?

On the tray I put down a little crocheted doily and commenced to add some shells! Summer time is coming...well, shoot! With our temps at 93' and 700 percent humidity, summer's here! :)

Lovely little shells from the sea shore! Shells of summer! Shelia sells seashells by the sea shore! :) I feel the cool breeze from the sea, don't you? Well, it's a hot breeze - but my most tiny strands of hair do move around a bit! :)

Then, I poked down some salt and peppers ~ one in silver plate and the other looks copper and silver! I didn't even realize these were coppery until I brought them home. Have you ever seen any like these? Well, I like them and here they sit beside "Little Richard".

You can't have summer without a few flowers, now can you? So...I laid some faux daisies here just to soften all the wood, shells and silver. Love my little fauxs! Hope you like the new look of "Little Richard". Mr. Precious said if a burglar gets in, the first thing he'll see is my silverware chest and grab it. I told him not to worry we have a watch dog - Chloe Dawn! :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little
Note Song~Mary Ann
All day all night is Mary Ann, Down by the seaside, sifting sand.
Even little children love Mary Ann, Down by the seaside, sifting sand.
Oh, when she walks long the shore people all she greets,
Wild birds fly her over and fish come to her feet.
In her heart there's love but I'm the only man,
Who's allowed to kiss my, oh Mary Ann.
All day all night is Mary Ann,
Down by the seaside, sifting sand.
Even little children love Mary Ann,
Down by the seaside, sifting sand.
Oh, when we marry we will have the time we ever thought,
I would be so happy, I'd kiss my mother-in-law.
All the little children running in the bamboo hut,
One for every palmtree and the coconut.
All day all night is Mary Ann,
Down by the seaside, sifting sand.
Even little children love Mary Ann,
Down by the seaside, sifting sand.

Well it looks like you and Little Richard had a grand play date! He's all ready for the beach -- I've heard of the "gold coast" - but I believe that you've created the "silver coast". We're leaving this week for our trip, so I'll talk to you when we get back!
ReplyDeleteGreat find and what a deal. Love the shells and silver together. Perfect job as usual. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSandy

ReplyDeleteThat tea set is EXACTLY like mine. I have the coffee pot too. Hmm, have you been "shopping" at my house?
ReplyDeleteYour watch dog is just that: she'd "watch" the crooks take your stuff!
Very pretty! The shells look pretty with the silver, and the daisies! I'm sure Little Richard is very happy with his new decor!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
Great display, Sheila. You just gave me another idea of storing a storage for flatware by making it into a platform for display. Thanks! I cannot believe you got that tea set for $9, lucky you!...Christine
ReplyDeletesuch a fun post. Love the look of Summer!
ReplyDeleteSmiles.
everything looks wonderful...wish you could come and move my stuff around...
ReplyDeleteI was such a beach girl growing up, so I love bringing the sea home, and sea shells are such a great way to do it. I love them with this silver service set. Everything looks so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI hope your holiday was wonderful. Have a great week.
Blessings,
Marcia
Gorgeous silver, Shelia and I love how you have it displayed.
ReplyDeleteThis week at the lake is winding down and I have some time to visit this morning before we leave for home. I've enjoyed catching up with you.
Beautiful. The shells and daisies just look so summery and what a great idea to elevate the silver coffee service with the silver box. I havn't seen any salt shakers like that, but they are just gorgeous. Very pretty. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love you "Little Richard" what a nice piece. I like the shells that you added.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great deal you got on your silver service! Love the silver chest! You could add this to Tea Time Tuesday. The flowers, the shells, say for a summer day! It so 700 humid here too! lol Love your vignette and your dining room. I hope this leaves a comment. There a lot of blog including mine this morning that comments are not working! Hope it fixed soon. Loved stopping by seeing your great finds!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila! In the first picture, I spied a toile plate hanging on the wall that I think we need a close-up of!! Little Richard is looking quite summerfied. Don't let that heat & humidity get to you. Stay cool. Sally
ReplyDeleteGaGaGaGaGa....gorgeous Sheila!! But I would expect nothing less from you my friend....you should be doing this for a living....I've said it before and I'll say it again! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteMorning Pickle..love the redo...but I truly love how you use those pretty doilies in your displays...they call me!!!!! lol Oh and when I saw your title I was really hoping you'd be doing alittle 'Good Golly Miss Molly' for us by 'Little Richard!!!!! lol lol Love ya girl have a great week! ~Picket~
ReplyDeleteThis is a great find and really gives Little Richard a lot of class...I bought a couple of pieces of silver over copper at GW lately ---I didn't even know it existed...
ReplyDeleteI even bought a silver over brass tray once...but it was a disaster...I ended up painting it and selling it....
Shelia, May I ask a favor of you and your readers...I blogged about a Mom who lost her son in Iraq and I'm trying to get a lot of supportive emails from all of our loving bloggers...my post is

That young soldier has a one year old son and I think this would be a tremendous addition to the scholarship fund that the 50 mile run funded...Thank you so much
Oh my goodness! You have a watchdog too? Mele is a dog to be reckoned with also! Don't you just feel so safe with them on duty? Me too! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I love your little tray with the shells, and of course crocheted doilies are always a favorite. Everything looks so pretty.
I have never seen any that color before. My silver looks a bit coppery right now but that's because it needs to be cleaned again. Very interesting finish, indeed! :)
Glad you like my (kindergarten art!)attempt at flowers.
Hugs to you, Sweet Shelia, and thank you for stopping by! You always delight me!
Mona
Good morning Pickle...girl I love the cooler color you you choose for summer time...You always do everything so great my friend...I hope you have a GREAT day my friend...Hugs and smiles to you girl Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila

Shelia this is looking gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the shells and silver together. What a bargin on the silver teapot. And what would summer be without daisies. It all looks lovely. Stella
ReplyDeleteShelia, it all looks so nice! I love the silver set, (great price too)and the shells together, very pretty! :D
ReplyDeleteLove the silver! Love the shells! Love it all Sheila!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
I wish we had a goodwill store here Sheila-I cannot believe you paid $9 for a brand new tea set! It is gorgeous. I love the way you have made your display all summery too-you are very clever!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes always,
Natasha.
I like your "changes". Our home is so "static" right now that I'm afraid it is going to fold in upon itself with boredom. I needed some inspiration and now I have it. I didn't know it was o.k. to take the silver chest out of the drawer and put it on top of the server (Little Richard). Now that I have your "blessing", I'm doing it, thus freeing up a drawer that I can fill with pretties after I go shopping. = )
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Oh My Goodness Shelia! I cannot believe you got that tea set for that price! It's beautiful. Little Richard looks like he is so ready for summer in all of his shiny, sea shelly beauty. laurie
ReplyDeleteOh Sheila! Right up my alley! Love the shells combined with the silver and the daisies! Stunning! And oh so summery!!
ReplyDeleteLovely as usual!!
Have a blessed week!
HUGS,
Becky
Hi Sheila,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea for summer, love the shells and especially that Sheila sells them by the seashore! Have a wonderful day.
Valerie
What a beautiful place Sheila and love the summery accents.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Regina
OMGoodness, Mizz Shelia...this is looking so summery and pretty. I love your shells...and bet you picked them up on the beach. Those are the most special of all.
ReplyDeleteI so need to tackle my living room and bring it into summer with FAUX flowers and....alas...I have no shells. Out here on the Plains of West Texas, we have no bodies of water..much less sea shells. Maybe I can go out and find a few Devil Claws. Know what those are??
Happy day to you, dear heart..
xo bj
Hi Shelia! Little Richard looks wonderful with all the summer seashells and flowers! But I totally expected to see a Little Richard song at the end of this post! (I love Little Richard!).. Well, I'm not familiar with this Harry Belafonte song, so I'm going to have to look this one up now! I wanted to tell you that I did do a camera-beauty-snappin' photo of myself recently, here on the following post. I made the purse for the Rush event! ~tina

Little Richard looks wonderful dressed for summer, like a gentleman in a white suit with silver cuff links and a daisy boutineeer.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you yesterday when the news showed tar balls washing up in Galveston. I'm so heartsick over all of it!
I rarely speak to men I do not know, let alone compliment their attire...but I will make an exception for Sir Richard :)
ReplyDeleteHe is looking divinely dapper in his summer coat/frock!
I hope you keep a close eye on him...there appear to be quite a rush to garner his affection!
My dear sweet, Shelia...yes, I know I already took up my share of space with a comment...of sorts..but...I just want to say this. And I have said it before.
ReplyDeletePlease..won't you try to post a little video of your playing the piano and singing one of your featured songs? I would break my tiny neck getting here just to listen to it. YOU would be the hit of blogland..(well, you already are!) but I mean an even BIGGER hit! How cute that would be...
No, I won't ask you to throw in a joke.
Loveinstuff!
Mona
Hi Shelia, I do so like your teaset, or is it coffee? I believe I have one just like it, but I wasn't fortunate to find a whole set like you did :o) What a lovely find! It makes such a lovely arrangement too. Well done.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Lovely little silver tea service you found at the Goodwill...that was quite the bargain. Trish
ReplyDeleteOh yes. That cute Chloe Dawn is a good little watch dog!
ReplyDeleteLove the new look for Little Richard. What a great deal to find a silver tea service brand new in the box at Good Will!
What is the color on your walls? It looks like a light color of green from where I sit.
