A Little Trip Story

Hello, Dear Ones! I just have a tiny little story to tell you that will finish up our trip from Reno. Now we do love to fly the friendly skies on Southwest Airlines. My sweet friend Becky at Looking Through the Eyes of Luv is a flight attendant for this fine airline. Well, sometimes you just can't get a straight flight from point A to point B. This was the case on our return flight from Reno.
So my Mr. Precious had a brilliant idea. Instead of getting on a plane in Reno and bopping here and bopping there and changing planes over there - we flew from Reno to Las Vegas and spent the night! Brilliant? Yes! This way we could just fly from Las Vegas straight to Houston the next day. That's exactly what we did.

So I will show you a bit of the lobby at the Monte Carlo where we spent the night. The florals were so beautiful and the flowers were real! I touched them. I have no qualms at all about touching beautiful flowers. No no Nannette, I don't! They were nice and soft and cool to the touch.

I love seeing beautiful lighting and the chandies at the Monte Carlo were no exception. See how pretty? No, I didn't touch them. :)

Well, we had to have some nourishment and had heard of this great restaurant in the old downtown area called Hugo's Cellar. We headed straight downtown with some friends. As we entered the door, the ladies, I, of course being one of the ladies, were handed a long stemmed rose! I was thinking how I'm going to love this place!

Hugo's has an "old school" atmosphere, very romantic, dark and cozy. The food was fantastic! They make your salad the way you want it with all the fixin's at tableside and at the finish of our meal, we were given little chocolate covered fruits! I was very pleased. If you get the chance to eat here the restaurant is located in the 'cellar' of The Four Queens.

I guess you may be wondering, why do we come to these gambling cities if we're not into slots and card games? Well, because it's fun! Lots of great shows, great food and great prices. Now that that is settled, I had to make a mosaic of the old downtown. It's wonderful! There is a digital light show that is just fantastic! There were different rock and roll bands playing and you know how I love old rock and roll! And don't you love to just 'people watch'? Well I do and I got my tiny eyes full! :)

After all of the excitement we went back to the Monte and crawled into our bed for sleep. We popped up rather early and took our flight on Southwest straight to Houston - non stop. That's my little story and I'm sticking to it! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Viva Las Vegas

Bright light city gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire
Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn,
So get those stakes up higher
There's a thousand pretty women waitin' out there
And they're all livin' devil may care
And I'm just the devil with love to spare
Viva Las Vegas, viva Las Vegas

How I wish that there were more
Than the twenty-four hours in the day
cause even if there were forty more
I wouldn't sleep a minute away
Oh, there's black jack and poker and the roulette wheel
A fortune won and lost on ev'ry deal
All you needs a strong heart and a nerve of steel
Viva Las Vegas, viva Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas with you neon flashin'
And your one armbandits crashin'
All those hopes down the drain
Viva Las Vegas turnin' day into nighttime
Turnin' night into daytime
If you see it once
You'll never be the same again

I'm gonna keep on the run
I'm gonna have me some fun
If it costs me my very last dime
If I wind up broke up well
Ill always remember that I had a swingin' time
I'm gonna give it ev'rything Ive got
Lady luck please let the dice stay hot
Let me shout a seven with ev'ry shot
Viva Las Vegas, viva Las Vegas,
Viva, viva Las Vegas
