Hi Dear Ones! I just couldn't help myself! As promised, I'll be showing you some photos of our stay in Miami. More mosaics. I'm loving this stuff! Thank you, thank you Laurie for telling me how to do this. Some of you have asked how to make these cool mosaics... just click here and it will take you to the right post for the tutorial by Laurie! This is fun and it's so easy!

You can see the lovely wall color as you walk the entry. Then a little powder room with a gorgeous black vanity. Yes, this place had a beautiful little kitchen and a washer/dryer combo! No, no, I didn't wash any clothes, but maybe I should have!

The reason for all this spaciousness is that this is really a condo owned by someone and when they are not in residence the hotel rents it for them.

Oh, I almost forgot! This is still a place for the rich and famous to come. As I'm chewing on my tiny fish and chips, guessed who walked into the restaurant? Robert Duvall! Yes, he did! He had on a cap and was playing it cool. He was all alone and sat at a table near us. I didn't snap a picture of him or anything. The night before I heard someone went up to him after seeing him in the lobby and asked if they could take their picture with him. He said, "No thank you, honey!" So he just wanted to be left alone! That ole stinker! :)

Well, hope I haven't bored you too much with my little travels. I have one more post to show you tomorrow. We took a little trip to Boca Raton and to Palm Beach. I'll have some lovelinesses to show you.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
Conga
Come on , shake your body baby, do the conga
I know you can't control yourself any longer
Come on , shake your body baby, do the conga
I know you can't control yourself any longer
Come on , shake your body baby, do the conga
I know you can't control yourself any longer
Feel the rhythm of the music getting stronger
Don't you fight it til you tried it, do that conga beat
Everbody gather round now
Let your body feel the heat
Don't you worry if you cant dance;
Let the music move your feet
It's the rhythm of the island, and like the sugar cane so sweet
If you want to do the conga, you've got to listen to the beat
Come on , shake your body baby, do the conga
I know you can't control yourself any longer
Feel the rhythm of the music getting stronger
Don't you fight it til you tried it, do that conga beat
Feel the fire of desire, as you dance the night away
cause tonight were gonna party, til we see the break of day
Better get yourself together, and hold on to what you've got
Once the music hits your system, there's no way your gonna stop
Come on , shake your body baby, do the conga
I know you can't control yourself any longer
Feel the rhythm of the music getting stronger
Don't you fight it til you tried it, do that conga beat
Come on , shake your body baby, do the conga

Hot? Yeah! I always tell Jack, not ask really but tell: Why should I go camping where it's 100° when I can stay home in my air conditioned house?!?! He has no answer for that one, sugar, just gives me the look that we're going anyway! Sigh........
ReplyDeletexoxo,

Oh Sheila, your post brought me to the place where I grew up. Yep, Miami, FL. since 1948. Miami was a gorgeous place and a wonderful fun place to live. We spent our growing up years going to the beach, going downtown Miami on the bus to take n lunch and a movie. The Olympia theater was so much fun and they always had a stage show before the movie. I saw spike Jones back then, a very good Jazz musician. If we had company, we dressed up and went to Miracle Mile to have lunch and go shopping. We wore gloves and hats. Now you know how old I am. LOL. Oh, and my senior prom was at the Fontainebleau Hotel. Such a thrill.
ReplyDeleteEnough about me. I love your mosaic pics. I so want to do that. Your photos bring back so many memories. Your vacation is so wonderful. I am so happy you had such a fun visit in Miami and Miami Beach. The condo is lovely, how lucky for you. When our son was married in Miami we stayed in the
Fontainebleau Hotel and it was under renovation then. It wasn't nearly as beautiful as it is now. Your photos captured Miami so well. It has changed so much since I grew up there. You went to some wonderful places and I know you had fun. The photos of you and Mr. Sweetie are so cute. You look very pretty in them. I love your post Sheila.
Hugs and love, Jeanne
PS: We came home a week ago and I am loving time on my computer again.
Hi Sheila

The chocolate covered strawberries are wonderful and the fish and chips too - my favorite!. Your mosaics look great. I am really enjoying your pictures from this trip very much. Thank you for sharing them.

All, I can do is sigh. The pictures are all wonderful, and now I'm homesick. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a wonderful time, and the food all looks so delicious!
ReplyDeleteGreat mosaics! Really lovely pictures! You had a great vacation!
ReplyDeleteYears and years ago (25+) Robert Duvall was dating a girl that lived across the street from us, she was a flight attendant, and she had this really big dog that she used to make all her boyfriends walk for her! And he did it too! And he would only say hello if I had my boys with me (they were only about two and three at the time).
I heard he left his wife for our neighbor and then she (the neighbor) dumped him! I don't know if it's true he left his wife for her, but it's true that our neighbor dumped him!
All the best,
Eileen
What a luxurious suite you got to stay in! Wow! I am impressed for sure. The food looks so yummy too. I don't know if I would have wanted to share those yummy strawberries at all...they looked so good!
ReplyDeleteYou took some great pictures. They are just beautiful. I also like the Oops photo with the trails of light. But that croc...scary!!! Glad you kept your distance!
Glad you had so much fun and I can't wait to see the next post!
Kady
Ooh girl, you two really traveled in style, didn't you? The wall color was the very first thing I noticed in the first mosaic. Oh, that color is just beautiful with the brown and black accents here and there.
ReplyDeleteThat food! Oh my, it looked yummy. And what a stinker Mr. Duval is that he can't snap a picture with a fan. Blech!
I can't stand Gloria Estafan, but Cuban food is yummy!
Btw... you look beautiful!
Oh, you didn't take those gator pics, did you?
Justine :o )
Welcome back!
