Okay, I just unwrapped the flower holder thingy and one fit just perfectly in my little chest. After I had cut off all the flower stems from the bushes, I began to poke my stems into the flower holder thingy! In about ten minutes tops, I had this!
Hmm...I think I see the beginnings of a tablescape. My little teeny weeny inexpensive transformation may have to wait before it goes upstairs to the guest room! ;) You just may see this little arrangement again and soon! ;)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
Paper Roses
I realized the way your eyes deceived me
with tender looks that I mistook for love
So take away the flowers that you gave me
And send the kind that you remind me of
Paper Roses
Paper Roses
Oh how real those roses seem to be
But they're only imitation,
Like you imitation love for me
I thought that you would be a perfect lover
You seemed so full of sweetness at the start
But like a big red rose that's made of paper
There isn't any sweetness in your heart
Paper Roses
Paper Roses
Oh how real those roses seem to be
But they're only imitation like you imitation love for me

ReplyDeleteI have a question for you. I know you switched to a stretch template...love it...but, your text is running over the paper background and is difficult to see at least for me. Do you see it like this, or is it just my computer? You know I want to read every bit of what you have to say!!
Hi Shelia...

Hello sweet girlfriend... Loved your cute teeny weeny inexpensive transformation... I may just have to steal that idea since that is the only kind I can use in Miss Tassie here....I kinda have a Tuscan look going on in here now so I am thinking the chest with grape leaves or something like that... Thanks again for the great idea...

Shelia:
ReplyDeleteI have actually found some time this morning and thought I would visit a few of my favorite blogs.
I have been so busy but I really miss keeping up with everyone's posts.
I think of it as having a neighborhood of good friends.
The little chest with flowers is darling and it is such little touches that make our homes special.
Have a Wonderful Week!
The Raggedy Girl
Great transformation, Shelia! I love the dark, roughish box with the soft, light roses. It will make a great centerpiece for a tablescape! You could hide party favors in it and pull them out after the meal!

Shelia, love the way the arrangement turned out, and so thrifty! Linda
ReplyDeleteYes, you did see my favorite fabric made from old curtains into pillows. I see a glimpse of your curtains from the same fabric behind your charming arrangement. When we put in our plantation shutters, I took the red fabric curtains down; but I still have the valance up. Just love the fabric too much to get rid of any of it!!! Sally
ReplyDeleteI wish my back side looked that good...maybe if I tuck some flowers into the waistband of my jeans? hehehe
ReplyDeleteI love how pretty this turned out, and it just shows that if you are clever, you can be thrifty and still have something that looks totally awesome!

ReplyDeleteOh, Sheila! I love it! What an amazing little floral arrangement you have now. I've been haunting the Dollar Tree a lot, but haven't been looking at flowers. I'll have to check them out next time I go in.
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of textures and colors. Nice job, Miz Shelia! I think I need to frequent the Dollar Store more often. :)

ReplyDeleteP.S.
I am still LOST on Facebook...blogs are more fun!
Mama loves the Dollar Tree...this is just adorable!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia :)
ReplyDeleteThat turned out so cute!! The dollar tree?? Amazing!
xoxo,
rue
Shelia, this little transformation says a LOT!!! How simple, yet so pretty, AND inexpensive. I have been a bad bloggy friend to many for the past few weeks. I can't seem to get anything done. My house is still in a state of chaos- I have so much to put away and reorganize, and I have no gumption to do it... A funk of sorts, I guess is what I have. I went through all of your posts that I've missed this afternoon and my mood has improved. Your home is so lovely, you set a gorgeous table, and it all looks as if it was done w/such ease... I need to get going on everything on my list to do. Thank you for the inspiration to get off my behind.... Hugs, Sue P.S.~ I love those little staffies....
ReplyDeleteThis looks so damn pretty, Shelia! You've got a great eye!
