I'm so blessed and truly appreciate this. I am a Dishaholic and I've confessed this to you a few times. But I'm in good company...many of you are Dishaholics too and there is help - just play with your dishes till the cows come home! I really don't want to grow up, do you? :)
Now, our Darling Melissa has set a few rules, so here goes:
1. Post on Blog with link back to awarder.
2. Award to 5 deserving Dishaholics (they can receive this award a million times and if you think they are a closet dishaholic, give it to them!) Name them for their inspiring taste and display of dishes. The dishes can be displayed anywhere in or around their home.
3. Name your favorite set of dishes/pattern that you own.
4. Name a set of dishes/pattern that you DO NOT own, but would like to own.
5. List a favorite accessory (stems, silver, flatware, etc.)
1. My link back to Melissa is at the top of the page :)
2. My five Darling Dishaholics I would love to bestow this most prestigious award to:
1. Susan at Between Naps on the Porch - she has been my inspiration for tablescapes. I don't
think I had ever heard the word until she showed her tablescape. She has dishes I covet! :)
2. Gollum, actually Michael Lee at Designs by Gollum - this lady has the most beautiful dishes
and knows how to display them. She even cooks and puts food in hers! :)
3. Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict - sweet Debbie is a marvel at tablescaping and she
has the most charming assistants. I know she couldn't do this without them! :)
5. Laurie at Bargain Hunting with Laurie - this gal has such a touch and she has so many
dishes - she can just do anything with them!
6. Fifi at Fifi Flowers - now this lady is an artist and she has become our virtual Dishaholic!
So when she sets her virtual table - you'll for sure want to come.
3. Well, I do love all my dishes so it's hard to say which set I love the best. It would be a toss up
between my Blue Willow by Johnson Brothers or Blue Garland by Haviland.
4. I have always love the Old Country Roses patterned dishes by Royal Albert.
5. This is another hard one. I guess my silverware - it's all very old and has been handed down
to me by a family member. I do cherish it!
Okay, Dear Ones, there you have it - The Real Confessions of a Dishaholic! This has been so much fun and I truly hope you'll all become Dishaholics!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
I've Got It Bad and That Ain't Good
Though folks with good intentions
Tell me to save my tears
Well I'm so mad about him
I can't live without him
Never treats me sweet and gentle
The way he should
I've got it bad
And that ain't good
And when the weekend's over
And Monday rolls around
I end up like I start out
Just crying my heart out
He don't love me like I love him
No, nobody could
I've got it bad
And that ain't good
Lord above me, make him love me
The way he should
I got it bad
And that ain't good

Oh, I love enchiladas, and yours look so good. I make mine almost like you do. Sometimes I make two batches, put one in the freezer, then just thaw, bake and add cheese topping and a no cook meal. Congratulations on the award. I do love dishes, and you have some gorgeous ones as well as all the other dishaholics. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh Shelia...Your food looks soooo yummy!! I love me some guac!! I will have to try this one! Congrats on your award...from one to another , it's something to be proud of!! lol And thanks for the dishaholic award! I confess to being guilty on that charge!! Have a great evening...Debbie
ReplyDeleteSheila, Your enchiladas look wonderful. I am going to have to try your recipe. I love cheese.. but, my dh hates cheese. How could anyone hate cheese??
ReplyDeleteHugs, Terrie
I have never made enchiladas, but they look really good! I would love some shortcake too, but not if I have to run 5 miles first. I would need a stretcher if I tried it!
ReplyDeleteI'm fixing this for Young Bandwith. My last few meals haven't thrilled him. LOL This will make everyone happy. I will try key lime instead of Persian lime next time.
ReplyDeleteThank you so kindly for the dish award. I will post it when I get back from Atlanta. I needed a reward after working hard on my pantry, getting my dishes in order; I finished it today -- to post on Susan's Met Monday.
Hugs,
Gollum
You're making me hungry for Mexican food! I'm going to have to give your recipe a try. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDon't you think you're overdoing it a bit with the announcing the give away thing?! People are going to think that you really are going to pick randomly and not just send those sweeties to me! Now, I always say if it's got cream cheese or velveeta cheese in it you can't go wrong! those enchiladas look scrumptious! God Bless! Lauralu :)
ReplyDeleteYum, this looks wonderful Shelia.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try that enchilada recipe. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteI confess, I think I am a dishaholoic, but.... I really have bought very few dishes. Most have been given to me. I plan on joining next weeks table scape. :D
Hi Shelia! Thanks for this cute, cute award Melissa created! You are a doll to think of me! I admit it...I am a confessed Dishaholic, and what's worse...I don't want to be cured! :-)
ReplyDeleteBTW, I am trying your yummy beef enchiladas...those look great!
Susan
The enchiladas look yummy, but these days I'm having dessert first! Oh yeah, and I ran five miles too..wink
ReplyDeleteOh, Shelianess! This dish looks killer good! I would like to pass my place for seconds and two desserts, too, please. Of course I haven't run my miles like Mr. Precious, but we won't tell. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, dear one, on your award! You are a dish maven! Love it! :-) That's one of the many reasons I love you and think you are SO special, but that's just one among many.
Hope you have a wonderful night and enjoy your dish crown! :-)
XO,
Sheila :-)

ReplyDeleteAnd OMG, your enchiladas look sooooooooo yummy! Know what would make them over-the-top perfect? Also fill them with sour cream, and then use red enchilada sauce over the top. Oh glory!!!!!!
Justiney :O )
Morning Shelia~
ReplyDeleteNow I love mexican food of any kind ~ it's a food group you know ( all by itself ) just like ice-cream. This dinner looks yummy and the guacamole...another favorite of mine.

You plated it so well, I thought for a moment you scanned a picture from a cookbook! I will try this recipe...it looks so tasty!
Shelia, congrats on another award!!! I'm almost afraid to ask how many dishes you do own as I'm afraid to face the fact of how many I own (ha, ha!)
ReplyDeleteGreat award! I made some tacos on my blog side of the potluck. Come on over before you're too full! :-D
Carolyn of What Now? Tablescapes
Shelia, this is one award I KNOW I deserve!! I am a dishaholic, but I can see that I am in good company. Thank you so much for thinking of me. It's such a pretty award (of course, I think anything with dishes is pretty!), I'll be proud to display it on my blog. Now, those enchiladas look delicious! And what a pretty plate they are on (of course, I'd notice the plate). Your dinner looks like a picture on a cooking show! And I'll be bringing a pretty plate right over to get some of that beautiful desert! laurie
ReplyDeleteThis recipe for enchiladas looks and sounds delicious and I'm so going to copy it in my folder. And congrats on the dish award, it had to be made for you.
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Chris
Okay, I counted and subtracted. You start with 7 enchiladas. You take 1 and give your mother 1. Give Mr. Precious 2 because he has to keep his strength up to run so that those legs stay in shape. Hmm, that leave 3 for me and Johnny. Now, what time is dinner?
ReplyDeleteHappy Foodie Friday!Oh no..now I NEED some Mexican food!
ReplyDeleteSusan
Oh yum yum!!! These look delicious! I will have to try these for my sons. Bet they would love them! Can you believe that I am not a cook? Not at all, and I didn't know how to make enchiladas! I just have a few tried and true recipes that I make, but these are something I can do!
ReplyDeleteLove that Dishaholic Award! It couldn't have gone to a sweeter dish lover!

Hi Shelia
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Now I know what we're having for dinner tonight. Your recipe of enchalladas. That was pretty easy to decide because it looked so yummy. I have some strawberries in sugar and covered in the fridge from last night when MAdeline came over for dinner.
I couldn't get the little cakes at the store I went to so we're having vanilla ice cream and strawberries instead.
I hope you have a lovely evening and weekend.
Judi
My favorite food group - Mexican Food. Is there anything prettier on a pretty plate than Mexican food? Now I'm hungry and don't need to be. I didn't run 5 miles today - just my little slow 30 minutes on the treadmill. Congrats on the award - you certainly deserve it as you have so many beautiful dishes. Sally
ReplyDeleteI've never attempted enchiladas but you make it look easy and delicious!
ReplyDeleteOh Shelia these sound like a simple quick something to make too. I'm saving this recipe and I'm trying it next week. ~ Robyn

These look yummy Sheila. I love mexican food, but for some reason don't make it much at home. I'm going to try this. And that dessert looks fabulous! Thanks for sharing this. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI just can't handle this Foodie Friday! It makes me hungry! I can be full and it still makes me hungry! That's the same reason I don't watch the food network or any food shows. I have NO will power!
ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteI am convinced that these enchiladas will be wonderful, especially since the recipe is coming from a real Texas woman! Oh, I can taste all that cheese right now!! ;-)
I truly think you deserve the dish award, I am never disappointed with your tablescapes (the last one was groovy!). And I also love that you love Haviland, since you are the only one I know that has it besides me!!
Congrats & thanks!! :-)
