Well, Dear Precious Ones, you know how much I love to Fall around! My front doors were feeling the pain of not being Fallen Ones and they were embarrassed because they were nekked (if you remember, that's Texan for naked!). So I took my little gorgeous self to my most beloved Hobby Lobby because they had all their Fallen flowers 50% off! Woo Hoo! And because of this great sale going on, I bought twice as much...therefore saving money for Mr. Precious. I tell him how much money I can save him, but somehow he keeps telling me to stop saving him money!! ;) Okay, I get the picture...I'll keep buying and saving him money, but I'll just hide my goods for a while and then bring them out later so I can tell him I've had them for a looooooooooooooooooooooong time! Do you ever do that? ;)
These doors needed some wreaths to make them happy! So I took out my trusty glue gun and went to town gluing flowers and leaves on the grapevine wreath. There really are grapevine wreaths behind all the Fallen foliage.
Okay, here are my two front doors - they are Fallen and they are not nekked anymore! They are so very happy with their new Fallen wreaths!
Here's the wreath on the left hand side of the door. My wreaths are not carbon copies, but close enough! Hope you've enjoyed looking at my handy work. I only got one hot glue burn on my little dainty finger! Ouch! But I'm getting over the pain!!
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Forever Autumn
The summer sun is fading as the year grows old
And darker days are drawing near
The winter winds will be much colder
Now you're not here
I WATCH the birds fly south across the Autumn sky
And one by one they DISAPPEAR
I wish that I was flying WITH them
Now you're not here
Like the SUN through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on the breeze you blew away
Through Autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way
You always loved this time of year
Those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now
Cause you're not here
(Instrumental break)
Like the SUN through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on the breeze you blew away
A gentle rain falls softly on my weary eyes
As if to hide a lonely tear
My life will be forever Autumn
Cause you're not here
~ sung by The Moody Blues
Hi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteYou are a hoot. I do the same thing...bring the 'loot' in a little at a time so I don't call too much attention to it all! LOL
Your doors look great all decked out with the wreaths. I'm sure the other neighborhood doors are green with envy!

Oh Shelia...you are a sly one!!! Your un-nekked doors look so beautifully "fallen"!!! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!

Your doors look beautiful. I like the fact that you did it yourself instead of paying those ridiculous prices for a skimpier wreath. So you really did save Mr. P. money!
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful fall wreaths on beautiful doors on a beautiful house where beautiful people live and a cute dog, too :) :)

Hi Shelia -
ReplyDeleteYour 'fallen' doors are gorgeous! As I looked at them I sat here and gave thanks that you still have doors after the storm. I love your thinking - 50% off means you can buy twice as much! Way to go, girl.
~Adrienne~
I thought I was the only one that did that ! He'll say, where did you get that ? And I'll say , Oh I've had that or oh I got that a really good garage sale.
ReplyDeleteI'm so relieve that the nekkedness is gone - and they are now beautiful.

Of course you had to buy twice as much, you have two doors. What is Mr. Precious thinking. Someone has to support the folks at Hobby Lobby! Sally
ReplyDeleteYou and all the comments above me had me laughing. The wreaths are gorgeous. You did a great job on them.
ReplyDeleteDoors that gorgeous are beautiful even nekid...but those wreaths really dolled em up! Very nice work Miss Sheila!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! You have got the Fall..aboulous doors. I just made up that word.. You know we can do that here in blogland. Kinda like your Nakked...Did I spell that right? Maybe I just made up a new spelling for it too!
ReplyDeleteI must confess. I too have done the "oh I have had these for years" thing. I feel bad though cause its a itty bitty fibby and my sweetie is the last person I want to do that to. He doesnt mind if I spend cause he knows Im always thoughtful with our budget. Im so very blessed that he allows me to stay at home and be a mom and wife.
Your doors look happy! Take care my sweet friend.

ReplyDeleteHi Shelia...you had me laughing again...sure glad the neighbors don't have to look at your nekked doors anymore...they are gorgeous with or without "dressing"... and yep, I gotta slip something in a little at a time to fool DH...

ReplyDeleteLOL I'm laughing because I have told my husband the same thing. Your wreaths are so lovely. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a hubby, so I don't need to do that, which maybe a good thing or a bad thing I am not sure which.
ReplyDeleteWonderful job on the wreaths. Now your doors don't have to be embarrassed because their nekked.
Ciao
What gorgeous doors nekked or not! I wish we had a Hobby Lobby around here, your wreath projects turned out so cute and it looks so pretty! ~ Robyn

ReplyDeleteWow, Shelia you truly are a talented woman! I am impressed with your handiwork. I wouldn't even know what or how much to buy to create something so lovely!
ReplyDeletetake care,
Dawn
I love your fallen doors and the story that goes with them, Shelia!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Shelia, those gorgeous doors did need your lovely new wreaths! They look wonderful...Kathy
ReplyDeleteNothing worse than nekked doors Sheila (BTW that's my mother's name too). They looked dressed and beautiful to me now. Gosh you are clever if you did those from scratch. What is funny is that women all over the world are telling their men how much money they are saving them and men all over the world are telling their women the same as your husband, Its funny.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my father's post today. He is a great Daddy no matter how old we both get.
ok my sweet girlfriend... I have a little something for you on my blog;)
ReplyDelete(((HUGS)))

Your wreaths are lovely! How great that you are still decorating for the season in this transition time.
ReplyDeleteThose turned out so lovely! You sure are a crafty lady to come up with those wreaths! I just love fall colors.
ReplyDeleteKady
Your fallen doors are beautiful! I was going to do a little more fall decorating myself but I fell too...into bed and took a nap! LOL :)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing another wife who saves her husband all sorts of loot at places like Hobby Lobby! Why Honey! It was such a good sale, they practically paid ME to buy it!
ReplyDeleteYour dorrs are GORGEOUS! I love them nekkid too but they look ever so purty with their Fall flourishes!
Love,
Sue
