The Classic Dames Test

I am a classic movie fan. You know, the old ones from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. So this was right down my alley. I'm so sorry I can't remember whose blog it was on, but you can take this test to tell which classic movie dame you are most like. Well, to my delight I'm most like Myrna Loy!! She is so very classy.

These were my scores:
26% Grit
5% Wit (this one bothers me a bit!)
29% Flair
55% Class (now, that's more like it!)

This is what the test says about me:

You are class itself, the calm, confident "perfect woman". Men turn and look at you admiringly as you walk down the street, and even your rivals have a grudging respect for you. You always know the right thing to say, do and, of course, wear. You can take charge of a situation when things get out of hand, and you're a great help to your partner even if they don't immediately see or know it. You are one classy dame. Your screen partners include William Powell and Cary Grant, you little simmerpot, you.

ME? A simmerpot!!?? Is that even a real word?? You know this is just so much fun!

Yep, I'm a simmerpot!! lol

If you'd like to take the test to see which Classic Dame you're most like, here's the link:

Okay, I'd like to share a few of my favorite movies starring Ms. Loy:

The 'Thin Man' series with William Powell

The Best Years of Our Lives

Cheaper by the Dozen

Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream Home - this is my favorite! She stars with Cary Grant - it's a hoot!!

Well, Dahlings, I must get back to my classiness now!

Isn't it such a coincidence that I look so much like her? lol ;)
Make sure you scroll down to view more Divas!!

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~ this is just "so" me!! ;)

Pretty Woman

Pretty woman, walking down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman I don't believe you, you're not the truth
No one could look as good as you
Pretty woman, won't you pardon me
Pretty woman, I couldn't help but see
Pretty woman
That you look lovely as can be
Are you lonely just like me?
Pretty woman, stop awhile
Pretty woman, talk awhile
Pretty woman, give your smile to me
Pretty woman, yea yea yea
Pretty woman, look my way
Pretty woman, say you'll stay with me
'Cause I need you, I'll treat you right
Come with me baby, be mine tonight
Pretty woman, don't walk on by
Pretty woman, don't make me cry
Pretty woman
Don't walk away, hey
If that's the way it must be, ok
I guess I'll go on home, it's late
There'll be tomorrow night, but wait
What do I see
Is she walking back to me
Yea, she's walking back to me
Oh, oh, pretty woman

  1. Well now, Shelia, when I saw Myrna Loy's photo, on my sidebar, I had to rush right over and see what was going on.

I love Myrna Loy in everything I've seen. What a lady!

To top it all off, you've included J's favorite Roy Orbison song.

  2. Hi Shelia,
Fun post! I love Roy Orbison and Pretty Woman too!

  3. Woooooooooo hooooooooooo! You're a hotty! Now don't be mad at me, but I've never heard of her!

    Justine :o )

  4. I'm gonna take that quiz, chick, because I'm a classy broad! LOL

  5. Shelia, I just took the test and I'm Myrna Loy too! Although my wit came out to 29%. heeheehee

    Justine :o )

  6. Hey Sheila, I'm taking my big butt and bumping you over, cuz you gotta share MIss Myrna with me, cuz they said I was like her too !

    :0) :0) :0)

Have a blessed day dear Sheila !

  7. You are a little simmerpot if Cary Grant is drooling after you, as I always thought that he was MINE!

  8. Wow you little vamp... How fun is this... I will be running right over there to take the test... and BTW I think your WIT is way up there... I am lovin it..

  9. How weird is it that I know the name Myrna Loy?? I thank my dad for that, he went on and on about the classic movies and actors.

But of course youre a class act Shelia!!

  10. Took the test... I am Katerine Hepburn... WOO HOO I loved her and so did my dad!

Katharines are energetic, lively, and optimistic. They want to contribute to the world. Me to the TEE...

    Thanks for the fun...

  11. That was fun! I am Carole Lombard - here is what it said about me:

You're a little bit of a fruitcake, but you always act out in style. You have a good sense of humor, are game for almost anything, but you like to have nice things about you and are attracted to the high life. You're stylish and modern, but you've got a few rough edges that keep you from attaining true sophistication. Your leading men include William Powell, Fredric March, and Clark Gable.

  12. Sigh. Myrna Loy is my favorite (tied with Carol Lombard, that is). The Thin Man is my favorite movie/book of all time.

  13. That is a fun test---I'm a Katherine Hepburn! I loved her style!

I also LOVE Pretty Woman--the song and the movie. NOW I will be humming that all day--was that your plan? :)

    Have a good one. Dana

  14. PICKLE!!! lol lol Oh my word!! Simmerpot???? You little hussy you!!! lol lol Oh I almost fell off my chair! lol lol I could just see you all dressed up in a long silky gown with a feather boa slinking ever so gracefully up to Mr Precious..batting your eyelashes and him falling out of his chair!!! lol lol Oh now you did it...I got pictures in my head of you as a simmerpot!!! lol lol What happen to our sweet little 'innocent' Pickle?!!! lol lol Oh girl...this was a hoot! I loved it and I love you girl!

  15. We watched "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" right before we built our home. It kept me in budget remembering how Myrna Loy had them add just a few tiles to the potting room for her plants and they went WAAAAYYYYYYY over budget on the house! You're right, this movie is a hoot. I think it's about time to rewatch it!! Cary Grant, gotta love him!

  16. Hey you do look kinda like her!!! And I've always said...that Sheila...she's a simmer pot! Have a glorious day!
