Welcome to Blue Monday where many of us post something blue. This great blue event is hosted by Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ Pop over and check it out and maybe join all the Blueness!
Today I'm going to share an over sized cup. Now this pretty blue cup thinks it Blue Calico, but actually it is a forgery! Shh...please don't gasp too loudly. I haven't told this blueness that she's a fake yet!
I do love my fake Blue Calico oversized cup. Can you love fakeness? Certainly you can! I think a dead give away is the solid blue handle. Don't think I've seen that on the originals. But this fake blue pattern is so lovely.
But I love this over sized fake Blue Calico cup and you know how creative I am! ;) I decided to put a topiary form into the cup and glued spanish moss and lots of little fruits on it and tied ribbons on the bottom! I keep my wonderful fakeness on top of my refrigerator. I'm just going to keep mum about the fakeness. Shh...don't speak too loudly...we'll just let my over sized fake cup continue to think she's really Blue Calico. Don't forget to visit Sally!
Calico Skies
It was written that I would love you

I'll leave you with a little Note Song -
Calico Skies
It was written that I would love you
From the moment I opened my eyes
And the morning when I first saw you
Gave me life under calico skies.
I will hold you for as long as you like
I’ll hold you for the rest of my life
Always looking for ways to love you
Never failing to fight at your side
While the angels of love protect us
From the innermost secrets we hide
I’ll hold you for as long as you like
I’ll hold you for the rest of my life
Long live all of us were crazy soldiers who
Were born under calico skies
May we never be called to handle
All the weapons of war we despise
I’ll hold you for as long as you like
I’ll hold you for the rest of my life
I’ll hold you for as long as you like
I’ll love you for the rest of my...For the rest of my life
~ sung by Paul McCartney

Blue Calico is a great pattern - fake or not!! In the background do I see your kitchen curtains? They are made from the same fabric as my dining area curtains. Could it be that months ago (or more) I saw someone's curtains I admired on RMS, and they were yours??? Have a great day. Sally

Hi Shelia, I think that the cup is beautiful. No one would ever think it is faux unless you told them. What really facinates me is the topiary. I would love to be able to make something that beautiful. Happy Blue Friday.
ReplyDeleteSweetie
cute cup. Honestly, I would not have even noticed the handle if you had not pointed that out. I was too busy enjoying the pattern on the cup! Happy Blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteSheila, your cup is beautiful. Not another word about, the name we cannot say. The topiary is perfect in the cup. Nice job. Your song rang a bell and then I saw Paul M. sang it. I love to see the songs you come up with. You can use R&R anytime you want to. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHugs...Jeanne

ReplyDeleteSheila,
ReplyDeleteI have an "old fashioned" bowl and pitcher in the exact same print. (also fakey's) Too fun.
*hugs*
Sheila, I am back to let you know I am a little silly today. Ok, very silly. Picket was trying to help me do the fresco thing. I had a brain freeze. Anyway I forgot to tell you thank you for your sweet comment on my doggy post. Our doggy's are our children don't you know? Our Babette is over 15 yrs. old and that article hit a nerve. I wanted to share it for all of us who adore our pets and maybe someone will read it and become more aware of how our pets feel about us too.
ReplyDeleteLove...Jeanne
That cup is just imitating the blue calico! Isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery? It's very pretty and your topiary looks so nice in it. A great Blue Monday post!
ReplyDeleteI need a sister - I'm an only child, too!! What's better than to be joined by curtain fabric? Sally
