A Little Corner

Hello, Dear Ones! Hope all is well with you all.
I wanted to share a little corner in my house at the end of my piano with you today.

You know I love my cross stitch pieces and I framed "Jesus Is His Name" and hung it on this wall along with a couple of other prints I got from Etsy many years ago.
I know I've shown this to you before but this is a good snap of the names of Jesus! How I love this!

Oh, I just love how it turned out with the double mats of blue and cream. This isn't a very clear picture of it. I think I was excited when I took it. But when I'm sitting at my piano I'm facingt this wall and it makes me happy. I framed it myself and think I probably saved Mr. Precious a lot of money! I keep telling him how talented I am! ;)
Here is one of the little Etsy prints - Amazing Grace. It is a copy of the music from a hymn book and then over the music is the hand painted title and flowers. This one is hung on top of my cross stitched piece and the one hung below is Great Is Thy Faithfulness. Two of my favorite old hymns.

Okay. Can we talk? Today when I tried to start a new blog post I was taken to an area I didn't recognize. It was telling me it was a 'new design thingy'. I didn't like it. I couldn't even see where to start a new post. Everything looked differently. So I got on the internet and found out how to revert to the classic blogger look but it said eventually in a few months everyone would have the new blogger thingy.

So...I guess I'm saying if the new blogger thingy seems too different I just may not continue to blog. I have kinda lost my blogging gene. I do try now to post once a week now but have almost stopped blogging a couple of times. I really don't want to stop but if Google or Blogger makes it hard for me...I just may do that.

Anyway, are any of y'all seeing this too? If you've conquered it could you tell me where you start a new blog post? I went to "New Post" at the top right hand side of my blog and it took me to this new look and I couldn't find it.

Oh, well. I know things change but sometimes I just want some things to stay the same.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Please Remember Me

Two sad faces tell the story
Heard so many times before
He is leaving she is staying
Neither of them know what for
There's no laughter there's no crying
There is love there's no denying
Differences led to goodbye and please remember me
And she said-I've got phone and a mail box
A front door that's unlocked
A faith in the feelings there'll be someone you forgot
True I'm gonna miss you, true I'm gonna need you
You know I'm not the one to worry
Oh but I heard the weather report
It says it's gonna be cold and lonely

So honey won't you please remember me
I'm the one that loves you
Please remember me
I'm the one that cares
Please remember me
I'll be thinking of you
And should you ever decide you wanna come home
I'll be there

This is like that old love story
Those who've lost love know it's true
She's sitting by a window waiting
He's sitting somewhere wonderin' what to do
They know they should be together
They know they should reconcile
He knew he would regret her saying please remember me
She said-You've got a home and a warm bed
A roof over your head
A place in my heart for someone i'll never forget
True I'm gonna miss you, true I'm gonna need you
You know I'm not the one to worry
Oh but I heard the weather report
It says it's gonna be cold and lonely

So honey won't you please remember me
I'm the one that loves you
Please remember me
I'm the one that cares
Please remember me
I'll be thinking of you
And should you ever decide you wanna come home
I'll be there

Oh lover won't you please remember
Won't you please remember me
Ooh lover won't you please remember
Won't you please remember me

A Family Tree

Hello, Dear Ones! Hope you all are doing fine. Well, I'm continuing to cross stitch and wanted to share another one with you. My family tree!

Isn't this so cute? I have a habit of tearing out pages from cross stitch magazines after a while since those magazines can really pile up. So...I was going through some of my patterns to find my next project and there this little family tree was saying, "Me! Me! Stitch me!" So I did.
I think the design is so fun and whimsical. I put our surname in the frame at the bottom of the tree.
Mr. Precious on the left and me on the right. Our son, Mel and his wife continuing up the left hand side.
Above my name you'll see our daughter and her husband's names. Then our two grands, Carter and Camp. To make it a little more fun I added the names of our two dogs that our kids grew up with, Bones and Sugar, both lovely little Boston Terriers. I tried to add little paws to their boxes but the paws look more like bird feet! :) Oh, well, you know how talented I am! :D
My little initials and the year. I completed this before the Covid mess started so no little cross on this one. Now I'm off to find a frame! I love to cross stitch. Have I told you that before?

I do pray you are all well and staying safe. We think we've almost got to a starting normal and then we all get knocked back a bit. But, dear ones, regardless, our God is in control and we have to trust him.

Oh, Mr. Precious and I went to our first restaurant a few weeks ago and it was such a treat! Red Lobster! I love my popcorn shrimp and this felt so special since we've not been out like this in so long!!
We went early but as you can see they had everyone spaced out really well. We were sitting at the right across from the empty ones.
I never need a menu in Red Lobster because I always get popcorn shrimp and of course those cheddar cheese biscuits! Yummy!

Popcorn shrimp for me and salmon and shrimp for Mr. Precious!
Oh, and the ending to a perfect early evening - snapping a bathroom beauty snap just for you.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Catfish - not quite 'shrimp' but fish :)

Lazy stadium night
catfish on the mound.
"strike three," the umpire said,
batter have to go back and sit down.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Used to work on mr. finley's farm
but the old man wouldn't pay
so he packed his glove and took his arm
an' one day he just ran away.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Come up where the yankees are,
dress up in a pinstripe suit,
smoke a custom-made cigar,
wear an alligator boot.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Carolina born and bred,
love to hunt the little quail.
got a hundred-acre spread,
got some huntin' dogs for sale.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Reggie jackson at the plate
seein' nothin' but the curve,
swing too early or too late
got to eat what catfish serve.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.
Even billy martin grins
when the fish is in the game.
every season twenty wins
gonna make the hall of fame.
Catfish, million-dollar-man,
nobody can throw the ball like catfish can.

Busy, Busy Dainty Fingers

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, I have been busy all through this Covid-19 stayputness - stitching! I admit, I stitch a lot and try to stitch some every day. So I thought I would share some pieces that I've finished, well, not fully finished so I can display them.

This one was just perfect for this time! Quarantine: Stay Home and Stitch.
I'm a member of lots of cross stitch groups on Facebook and someone mentioned it would be neat to add our initials, the year and a little cross to show this piece was stitched during this Covid time. Above you can see my little cross!

The designer of the above and below snaps is Waxing Moon and they have a series called 'House Trios'. The above is called Summer House Trio. The middle one has my little cross on it.

Guess what this one is called? Right! Spring House Trio and the first house has my little cross on it.
Here is just a little cutie and I can't remember the designer...oops!
There's my little cross!
I just love this one! How sweet with all of the little sheep!
 There's my cross!
 Just so sweet!
This one is from our fellow blogger, Priscilla Blain, who has now become an amazing cross stitch designer!

Well, I have done other things during our lock down but stitching has been a big part of it!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Let's Lock The Door

Let's lock the door and throw away the key now
(Shom dooby-dum dooby-dum-dum)
I can't wait to kiss you (oh no)
One little minute more

We met at a party last week
And the moment your eyes looked into mine
Right then I just forgot how to speak
And the soda started tastin' like wine

How I wished everyone would go home
So I could say when I got you alone

Come on now
Let's lock the door and throw away the key now
(Shom dooby-dum dooby-dum-dum)
I can't wait to kiss you (oh no)
One little minute more

We started to talk and you smiled
Sorta like you knew the way that I felt
You moved a little closer in a while
Then I knew my heart was startin' to melt

There was just so much I wanted to say
But all the words came out this way

Come on now
Let's lock the door and throw away the key now
(Shom dooby-dum dooby-dum-dum)
I can't wait to kiss you (oh no)
One little minute more

Ah no! Oh yeah
No! Oh yeah

I'll kiss your lips like a kiss oughta be
And then I know you'll be sayin' to me

Come on now
Let's lock the door and throw away the key now
(Shom dooby-dum dooby-dum-dum)
I can't wait to kiss you (oh no)
One little minute more
