Another Tilda

Hello, dear ones! Well, I can't stop making Tildas and not for me but for other people. This time I've made one for my sister-in-law. She is dressed in a smart little navy blue business suit.
She is very involved in her ancestry groups so I made a Tilda to look like her with her banner, ribbon and pins.
Here is her sweet little face and now as I look at this snap - there is a string on her face!! UGH! Well it's just sitting there so no problem but it kinda messed up my blog snap!  Now I want to thank Judy who blogs at Hardin County Keepsakes! She told me for the eyes on her dolls she used the little end of a paint brush and dabbed it in paint for the eyes. Well, I just grabbed one and did the same - no runs and the eyes look so much better! Thank you again, Judy! This little Tilda is named "Sissa" and she has on some sparkly little earrings to match her outfit.
This was my first attempt at making a hat and I do need some practice or just a good pattern. The top part of the hat is a fabric covered lid from my milk jug and the brim is two pieces of card stock glued together with a hole in the center so I could wind the fabric round and round. Then I glued some white ribbon around the top part and added some flowers and I was done. Hopefully my sister-in-law will like it. She always wears a hat at her meetings.

My sister-in-law has blonde naturally curly hair so her Tilda had to have that too. This was a new way for me making hair. Don't look too closely as you can see some thread! I wrapped yellow yarn around and around my pointer finger and then tied a little piece of yarn to make a loop. Then I sewed the loopies down and made her curls. I think it turned out pretty cute!
Next comes her suit. I didn't have a pattern so I just made it up. I put little blue buttons on her blouse and lace at the neck. There is also some lace at the hem of her sleeves. The skirt was easy to make but that jacket! Oh, I forgot to tell you the pattern for this Tilda has a skinny bum bum. Just thought you ought to know that! :)
Now she has on the banner, ribbon and pins like my sister-in-law wears to her meetings. I just happened to have the red and white ribbon which is almost like hers!

Next is her little shoes! Oh, I just love them. I made them from felt and sewed a pretty bead down on the toes.
Well, here you have my Sissa Tilda and you can see she is sitting on a piece of my milk glass! I hope my sister-in-law likes her. I think she did turn out pretty cute. Now, mum's the word - don't tell her. It's supposed to be a secret for her birthday.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Notesong ~

 The Oogum Boogum Song

Oogum oogum boogum boogum
boogum now baby you're castin' your spell on me
A-I say, "Oogum oogum boogum boogum
boogum now baby you're castin' you're spell on me"

You got me doin' funny things like a clown
A-just look at me

When you wear your high heeled boots with your hip hugger suit, huh
its all right, you're outta sight
and you wear that cute mini skirt with your brother's sloppy shirt, huh
A-I admit it, girl that I can dig it

Well then I say
Oogum oogum boogum boogum
boogum now baby you're castin' your spell on me
A-I say, "Oogum oogum boogum boogum
boogum now baby you're castin' your spell on me"

You got me doin' funny things like a clown
A-just look at me

When you wear your bell bottom pants
I just stand there in a trance, huh
I can't move, you're in the groove
would you believe little girl that I am crazy 'bout you, huh
now go on with your bad self

Ooh, ooh, my my my baby's got these spells on me
Ooh, ooh, ooh now mercy, mercy on me
Huh, all right

When you wear those big earrings, long hair, and things
you got style, girl, that sure is wild
and you wear that cute trench coat and you're standin' and posin'
you got soul, you got too much soul

I just say who got the blues say who got the blues
say who got the blues now castin' your spell on me
Well I say, "Who got the blues say who got the blues..."
