Still Falling!

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm continuing to Fall up the house. This house is different than any other house I've ever had. The living room and kitchen is not completely an open concept but almost! I know that the open concept is a very popular style of house now but I had rather have my kitchen hidden behind a wall. Well, I got a half wall in this house and to me it's better than no wall! So let's decorate it for Fall!
Here we are in the living room looking at my half wall. I think I should give my half wall a name. Don't you? Any suggestions? Now the sofa is not sitting up against the wall. There is a wide walking space behind the sofa.
I began to poke pun'kins, leaves, sunflowers and even some fruit on each ledge - there are three.
Feast your most gorgeous peepers on my half wall.

I have to admit it was rather fun poking stuff up here on my ledges, my half wall!
 Lovely Fallness.
Even an olden glass raised dish got poked up here!
Oh, my Lord! Where'd that pun'kin head come from?

I'm so silly, I know. These are pretty long ledges on my half wall and I'm going to have to really decide with the seasons what to poke up here. I'm beginning to think of them almost like mantels! Three mantels but they have to co-ordinate! Now, I have always thought of these ledges as female but I'm leaning more toward male. So maybe I'll name my half wall Wallace!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Hello Walls (did you know Willie Nelson wrote this song?)

Hello walls, (Hello, hello.)
How'd things go for you today?
Don't you miss her.
Since she up and walked away?
And I'll bet you dread to spend another lonely night with me,
But lonely walls, I'll keep you company.

Hello window, (Hello, hello.)
Well, I see that you're still here.
Aren't you lonely,
Since our darlin disappeared?
Well look here, is that a teardrop in the corner of your pane?
Now don't you try to tell me that's it's rain.

She went away and left us all alone the way she planned.
Guess we'll have to learn to get along without her if we can.

Hello ceiling, (Hello, hello.)
I'm gonna stare at you a while.
You know I can't sleep,
So won't you bear with me a while?
We gotta all stick together or else I'll lose my mind.
I gotta feelin' she'll be gone a long, long time.

(Hello, hello wall.)

Saludos

  2. Your home looks just lovely, Shelia. So nice to see you settled and now able to decorate up a storm!

  3. I love all of your fall. It makes your home look so happy and ready for my favorite season.

  4. Shelia, You are a beautiful lady. I love that decorating half wall. So many ways you can bring it into your decor for every season. Loving the big sunflowers. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. Oh I adore your Fall Sheila and you are the cutest pumpkin ever!!! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  6. Happy first day of fall and your fall decorations are just awesome!

  7. Such a fun post, with some lovely decor. The pun'kin head made me smile...

  8. LOL...I just heard "Hello Walls" on the PBS special "Country Music" a few days ago. I have to say I agree with you about the open concept not being my favorite but your "Wallace" is quite a looker! I love all the pun'kins and poking you have done...especially the one that looks just like you! I will not be able to do much falling this season due to us moving into our RV in Tennessee in several days. I hope to be able add a few touches....okay, you know I will!

  9. Oh I love your couch!! I'm a sucker for patterned furniture, so pretty!

  10. Lovely!
    Happy Fallin' into Autumn.

  11. Looks marvelous! I agree that some walls are necessary! Looks like you’ll have fun decorating these!

  12. Love your decorating ideas and the song!

  13. I'm loving all your fall decorations! I'm having a hard time getting motivated to finish mine - maybe it's the Texas heat.
I love your half wall. After having both a completely separate kitchen and an open concept, I've decided I like the open concept better. This home is not open - we work with what we have.

  14. I love your half wall and all your beautiful decorations! They are just gorgeous!

    Blessings - Julie

  15. Hi there Shelia, your'e right, a half wall is better than NO WALL! LOL I just never cared for the "open concept" thing....i like old fashioned houses with the kitchen having nothing to do with the living room!! If my sink is full of dirty dishes and the counters are messed up or cluttered, I don't want our guests immediately SEEING ALL THAT. LOL Your Fall decorations look so pretty. I must get ours out this weekend and get busy!! Most years, I do that September 1st....gosh I am trailing far behind this year.

  16. Our home is not open concept. There are things I love about it...but I have to have WALLS! When we opened up the wall from our formal living to our den I had to get rid of lots of stuff. Even furniture. No place to put it without walls! HA!

  17. Shelia,
Love your half wall all dressed in Autumn decor!
I'm with you. . .I 'm not crazy about Open Concept.
Oh, I do love that sweet smile!

I'm so pleased you would come to see me and so please leave me a comment and I'll do my very best to respond back to you. Be a sweetie...Shelia :)
