My mirror is still not hanging in the center of the fireplace wall and we are going to move it but I can't do it! Mr. Precious has to get out the huge tall ladder to do it. He will. So...on we go.
The mantle does extend a little bit more on the right side. Strange, huh?
In the center I've placed this olden vase in an olden glass footed bowl that was my little mothers. I think it is a pun'kin, looks like one to me. Does it look like a pun'kin to you? Well, it's acting as a pun'kin for my mantel! Then I've placed my largest Staffies on either side of the pun'kin vase. They just love playing in the leaves.
I didn't purchase many news items this year but I did buy a couple of these glass pun'kins since this color of blue seems to be showing up a lot in my living room. Pretty, isn't it?
Then while shopping for pun'kins I found this pretty hand painted one. So pretty. I found this and the teal blue at "At Home", formally Garden Ridge.Continuing with my blue and white are a set of candle sticks. The dark "Blue Willow" blue looks nice with the teal blue. Oh, that candle is a dark blue but it shows up rather purpley here.
Here is the other little hand painted pun'kin! I love these little guys.
I have three garlands of fallen leaves that are intertwined here and there is a pip berry garland in there too. On the right hand side which is longer, I've placed a bunch of autumn colored dark red roses to try and balance it out.
Okie dokie pokies, there is my living room mantel all Falled up! I'm having fun decorating my new to me house! I just crank down the air conditioning and go to town! :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you a little Note Songs ~
Autumn Leaves
The falling leaves
Drift by the window
The autumn leaves
Of red and gold
I see your lips
The summer kisses
The sunburned hands
I used to hold
Since you went away
The days grow long
And soon I'll hear
Old winter's song
But I miss you most of all
My darling
When autumn leaves
Start to fall
Since you went away
The days grow long
And soon I'll hear
Old winter's song
But I miss you most of all
My darling
When autumn leaves
Start to fall
Drift by the window
The autumn leaves
Of red and gold
I see your lips
The summer kisses
The sunburned hands
I used to hold
Since you went away
The days grow long
And soon I'll hear
Old winter's song
But I miss you most of all
My darling
When autumn leaves
Start to fall
Since you went away
The days grow long
And soon I'll hear
Old winter's song
But I miss you most of all
My darling
When autumn leaves
Start to fall
~ sung by Frank Sinatra
Your mantel is gorgeous and I love your pretty leaves. That wonderful blue and white pumpkin is a keeper for sure.
Hi Shirley! I didn't realize your country didn't decorate for fall. We were able to travel to Costa Rico once and it is a beautiful place. Thank you always for coming to visit!
DeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
DeleteI love all the different pumpkins in your decor. Yes, I think that big one in the bowl,is a pumpkin. The dogs are just right there in the leaves. Glad you love decorating again. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI like the purple candles and blue vases! The room is so well lit. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job decorating you mantel and it looks just perfect for fall!
ReplyDeleteIt's all lovely but that handpainted blue and white is a real stunner!
ReplyDeleteYour mantle looks beautiful! You are such a good decorator. :-) I love it.
ReplyDeleteyay!!--you're back posting! Love the pretty mantel and I was going to say " love that touch of PURPLE on the end candles!!"----but looks like they are actually BLUE. LOL oh well---still pretty. I love to use purple in our Fall decorating. I haven't got out our Fall boxes yet, we've been evacuated because of bad Dorian. Anyway.....glad you're back and love your cute Staffies too! I'd love to find some reproductions, they sell ALOT OF those antique ones here for a very hefty price. PS--we also have the same table, LOL! I love ours.
ReplyDeleteLOVEly post and getting ready for FALL you all.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
d

What a lovely mantle, Sheila, ready for fall! And that song has always been one of my favorites. I love when Nat King Cole sings it...
ReplyDeleteI love the blue pumpkins! Your mantle looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the BLUE in the pumpkins, Sheila!
ReplyDeleteI hate it when my Mr. has to get out the BIG ladder. He has four. One for different things. When you have a two story house EVERYTHING is more challenging.
Happy ALMOST FALL! <3
