Has It Been That Long?

Hello, Dear Ones! Oh, my goodness! I can't believe I haven't posted since December. Well, forgive me. I want you all to know - I've been so busy!! You may know we bought a house and that's where it starts - busy busy busy. I'll try to catch you up...below was our first meal in our new home. You can see how elegantly we dine! :)
We closed on our house December 31st! Yep, on New Year's Eve. Well, we had to pop on over and spend the night. The previous owners left us the sleeper sofa in the den so we slept on it. Gave it away today to the movers. That was the most uncomfortable night we've spent almost ever! So we will have to do something else. That's another story for another time.
We had the entire house painted inside and out. This snap shows you more to the true color the walls were. They were so dark and depressing. Even some of the ceilings were painted that yuck color.
Here you can see the painters were hard at work. Bright white on all of the trim and Biscuit on all of the walls. I always use Sherwin Williams paint. I just love it.
Here I'm saying goodbye to the orange oak cabinets! They are white now and I'll show you soon. We are having a new backsplash put in next week. I choose rectangular subway tile. I just love the clean classic look of that. I adore white kitchens and wanted my new appliances to be white too. We have ordered a white fridge but won't get it until the end of the month. Seems not many folks want white, but I do. We ordered a new white Bosch dishwasher and it's installed now. I've had a Bosch before and just love them. If you want one, order a white one - they are cheaper! :) Just saying.
Here you can see how pretty the white cabinets turned out. I have been busy putting in Pioneer Woman's shelve liner. I just love her pretty patterns. I'm a little old fashioned and this fit me just fine.
I wanted to show you my little laundry room. The walls of course are Biscuit but I had this little cabinet painted Little Boy Blue. It's actually a little more blue that shows in my snaps. But it's so sweet. But...
Have you ever seen cuter little knobs for a laundry room? I saw these online and knew I had to have them. I'm sorry, I've already forgotten where I ordered them. But I loooooooooooove them. Don't you?
We had arranged to have my piano brought over here but it was pouring down rain so the mover postponed it until the next day. That was my opportunity to make little window toppers for this window.
These are recycled window toppers. I bought the drapes in New York for my living room there. You can see them above. Actually I bought two pair and sewed them together so they would be fuller on the window and then lined them. I just love the print and feel of this fabric so I just chopped away and made little toppers. This sewing job took me all day to make. But they are still lined and way up high. I could never have gotten the ladder in there to hang them if the piano had been there first. Thank you, God!

Yesterday my piano came and the movers did a beautiful job and they were quick too!

Pardon this snap, it's from my phone. The two meet, well, the three me with Willow checking it out.

For the past month Mr. Precious and I have been moving things back and forth, back and forth. We brought over as much as we could in our SUV and have a bunch of stuff in the garage. This house is a little smaller so I have to purge some more. Shoot! I love my stuff but I've got to be real.

We had the movers bring the rest of our furniture over here today. It looks like a tornado has hit! I keep telling myself - you'll get it done - one day at a time. I'm exhausted, my fluffy little body aches but it's fun at the same time.

Well, I hope you all will forgive me and continue to visit me. I am really going to do better with posting...I promise. So take care and I'll see you soon.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Hold On I'm Comin' (love me some Sam and Dave)

Don't you ever feel sad
Lean on me when times are bad
When the day comes and you're down
In a river of trouble and about to drown
Just hold on, I'm comin'
Hold on, I'm comin'
I'm goin' my way, your lover
If you get cold, I will be your cover
Don't have to worry 'cause I'm here
No need to suffer baby, 'cause I'm here
'Cause hold on, I'm comin'
Hold on, I'm comin'
Hold on, I'm comin'
Hold on, I'm comin'
Reach out to me for satisfaction
Call my name now for quick reaction
Now don't you ever feel sad
Lean on me when the times are bad
When the day comes and you're down, baby
In a river of trouble and about to drown
Just hold on, I'm comin'
Hold on, I'm comin'

  1. Oh, Shelia, your new house is so cute! Of course you always make your homes so warm and welcoming. Those door knobs are just the most adorable I've ever seen and perfect for a laundry room. Take your time putting things away. No need to get yourself exhausted. You will be there for a long time.
