I'm Still Here But I'm Late!!

Hello, Dear Ones! I can't believe it's been so long since I posted here on my blog! I'm sorry but it's been busy around here. Now, just so you'll know - I'm really behind. I'm seeing all of your Christmas posting and I'm going to show you my Fall! :) Yep, we're kinda settled here in the lease house and I thought I would show you around a little.
I got rid of most of my wreaths when we left New York. They were so old so I made a new fall one. I really do love the strong oranges of fall but I softened up the colors this year. I found a wreath at JoAnn's with leaves and pine cones and I just added sunflowers and a burlap bow. I think it turned out pretty nice. Come on in..
Here is the entry and Willow is ready to meet you at the door. She's such a little stinker.
Just a little vignette on the table.
The light is really so nice here and you can see the sun beams pouring in the windows here in the dining room. I brought my draperies from our former home and used them here in the dining room.
I made a new arrangement for the dining room table.
Okay, we're leaving the dining room and coming into the 'great room' which we are using as a den.
Now these are really not blog worthy snaps as I took these with my phone to send to my daughter but am using them for you! You get it. Anyway, this is where we really live. That's my little chair where I sit and stitch, watch TV and eat! Yep, we eat in here too! :) Don't tell anyone. The room is small and really seems small since we had to put my piano in here so the rug is on the diagonal.
Just look with one eye open so you won't see all the junk and mess around. Willow is ready to play with her baby! :) See those red checked curtains? Well, I wanted to cover the windows in here but I didn't want to put holes in the walls since we are just renting. So what did I do? I found some heavy duty Command Hooks and used skinny little curtain rods and there you go!! I have curtains in here with no harm to the walls!! Pat pat on my back! :)

Here is where we had to put my piano. It's cramped but it is what it is.

I put my babies all over the top of my piano so each time I pass by every day I can smile
I may have told you earlier, but Mr. Precious perfectly lined up all of our pictures and artwork like an engineer in a closet. I'm afraid to pull one out or they would all fall - so I don't have much to put on the walls. Nekked walls are what I have. So I made a fall wreath to hang above the fireplace and poked a whole bunch of cross stitched pieces up there. It's gawdy, I know, but I don't care! :)

Okay, from the den you can go right into the kitchen, and here it is...
Sorry, I didn't pick up before I took the snaps. It's a really nice sized kitchen and has quite a bit of storage.
Here you can see into the little breakfast room.
I 'Pioneer Womaned' my little hutch up. Don't you just love her stuff?
Oops, close your one eye again as my baker's rack has become a catch-all!
Y'all we just couldn't stand it and flew back to New York right before Thanksgiving to see our babies! That is the hardest thing - missing those little sillies.
Since we all settled and are just chilling we decided to take a cruise! We drove to our old town, Galveston, and boarded The Liberty of the Seas and sailed to Honduras, Costa May and Cozumel, Mexico. We had such a relaxing time and I stitch and stitched.
Well, it seems we are all tuckered out now. I will show you my Christmasing soon. Don't get excited or anything as I can't find my anything in the garage. I will have a tree and that's about it! I'll just enjoy seeing yours. Thank you all who have stayed with me all of these years. I love you all to pieces!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Gotta Get Up
Gotta get up, gotta get out, gotta get home before the morning comes.
What if I'm late, gotta big day, gotta get home before the sun comes up
Up and away, got big day, sorry can't stay, I gotta run run yeah
gotta get home, pick up the phone, I gotta let the people know I'm gonna be late

There was a time when we could dance until the quarter till ten,
we never thought it would end then, we ever thought it would end,
We used to carry on a drink and do the rock and roll, we never thought we'd get older,
we never thought it'd grow cold, but now

Gotta get up, gotta get out, gotta get home before the morning comes.
What if I'm late, gotta big day, gotta get home before the sun comes up
Up and away, got big day, sorry can't stay, I gotta run run yeah
gotta get home, pick up the phone, I gotta let the people know I'm gonna be late

  2. Your new wreath is pretty and I think your rental house is very very nice! Just love what you have done with it, you made it so pretty and welcoming. My favorite thing is the hutch with all your Pioneer Woman things, I see the "twins" to my cow creamers, both red and floral, my green "jadeite" salt and pepper shakers, my big pitcher and my coffee cups....LOl!!---we sure do like the same things. So glad you're all settled in and are you waiting to buy or build a new home? Looks like the cruise was fun and I'm so glad you got to fly back to see the grandchildren, I know how you must miss them. How about Christmas??---maybe they are coming to see y'all?--I hope?

  4. I am so glad you were able to catch up with your family. We are heading to see ours next weekend for the holidays. That sadly is the downside of moving away from them.

  7. Shelia, I am so happy to see this post! I saw a comment you left on FB and thought I need to email that gal and see how she is doing and then today, here you are. I don't blog like I should but I can't quite give it up. My home is pretty much decorated but the dreary days make it hard to take photos. Your rental is very nice and I know you are happy to be back in Texas but oh those babies are hard to leave. Sending big hugs and much love.
