My daughter, son-in-law and babies came over around 3:00 pm for Christmas and I decided to have finger foods instead of a big meal. It was a hit. I threw down a runner on the island and filled it with goodies.
We had the desserts on the kitchen table. My daughter makes this traditional gingerbread man each year and now the babies are old enough to decorate it. So here it is! :)
Now to the snow! Look at the sun room windows!!
Looking out the front door.
It is so pretty and it's cold outside.
Here is Mr. Precious with his Christmas gift "The Beast" - his new snow blower! He is like a kid!
As the sun sets on the freshly fallen snow I'll bid you adieu til next time.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
I Wish Every Day Could Be Like Christmas
What time is it baby, is it that time again
When snow will be falling, friends will be calling
You know it's time when, there'll be carolers singing Silent Night
I love when they sing, the feeling it brings
It's warm as a fire is bright
Soon there'll be toys for good girls and boys
And reindeer are heading our way
Yes, and Santa will come down the chimney above
There's one thing I wanted to say
I wish every day could be like Christmas
And if I could have one wish come true
I wish every day could be, full of peace and harmony
I wish every day could be like Christmas, I do
I saw a child sit with old Mr. Clause,
Looked him in the eye and he asked old Santa what peace on earth was
Now the old man grew cautious, on how he would say
That it's the greatest gift what you could give, every day
I wish every day could be like Christmas
And if I could have one wish come true
I wish every day could be, full of peace and harmony
I wish every day could be like Christmas, I do
Now the mistle-toe and the house aglow
All the world seems at ease tonight
And all that I ask when these precious moments pass
Is why can't every day be so bright
I wish every day could be like Christmas
And if I could have one wish come true
I wish every day could be, full of peace and harmony
I wish every day could be like Christmas, I do
Honest I do, yes I do now
Very merry Christmas
~ sung by Brook Benton

Merry Christmas Shelia. :)
ReplyDeleteI can see you had a wonderful Christmas! Kids really make the day, don't they? Everything looks so yummy on that table. I feel like helping myself to some of those goodies. We didn't get any snow and I am happy about that. I don't like driving in the snow and ice. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty post! I'm glad you got a good snow. They're saying we may get some here in North Carolina on Friday. Your house looks wonderful; you sure know how to make a house look homey. I adore your cross-stitch ornaments on the banister garland, and the crocheted tablecloth in your dining room is lovely. I can tell you're very happy to be in New York near your loved ones.
We had finger foods at my parents' yesterday, too. Yum. Hal and I are going to have to get on the straight and narrow after the holidays are over. ;D It looks like you all had a happy Christmas; thanks for sharing the images with us.
Have a great week!
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Oh Shelia, it's so festive. You really know how to do Christmas pretty! (And it looks like you had the same white Christmas we did!) The food looks great and I still think your cross stitched bannister ornaments are the best! I'm late but delighted to be wishing you a Merry Christmas (and happy Boxing Day) because I believe in spreading it out!

Hi Shelia...your home always looks beautiful and Christmas certainly brings a festive charm to it. I loved the Santa hats hanging on the hall tree and my goodness, all the goodies spread out look simply scrumptious. I had a very good Christmas, albeit a bit sad too. I wrote a post about my Christmas in my Sitting Room on my Blog today. Stop by and take a peek! Happy New Year to you, my dear, sweet friend. Many Blessings in 2018!!
