Has It Been That Long?

Hello, Dear Ones! Oh, my goodness - has it really been that long since I posted? Yep, I can't believe it's been over a month since my last post. Well, I've kinda lost my blogging mojo. I can't give it up completely so for now this is all I've got. Forgive me.

Lots been going on. You too? So bear with me and I'll catch you up with my life. Fair Warning! Lots of snaps.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We sure did. Every seven or so years my birthday pops up on Thanksgiving day and this year I was the Thanksgiving birthday turkey! As you can see there's my cake. My daughter baked me a German Chocolate Cake (my favorite) and after she iced it she gave icing tubes to the grandbabies and they went to town  squirting on the sweet goodness! I loved it.
Since it was my birthday, Mr. Precious ordered our entire meal from a club we belong to and my daughter and I didn't cook! Yea! It was delicious too.
Our church always has a Fall Festival and a fun Trunk or Treat. Well, of course we wanted to play and decorated Sybbie (Mr. Precious' 1930 A Model Ford). Campie loves Ghostbusters so I wanted to use the theme but keep it Christian and not scary. So I filled the car with balloons and drew faces on them. They didn't cooperate very well for me. Then I made signs saying "I Ain't Afraid of No Fear" to put on the doors. Mr. Precious and I wore black t-shirts and have scriptures about not being afraid safety pinned on us surrounding a little sign "I Ain't Afraid of No Fear". I should have taken a snap of our shirts! There are our two little fearbusters.
Since the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is Campie's favorite, I just had to make one to sit in the rumble seat. I bought some little white stretch pants for the bottom and legs and then a t-shirt for the body and arm. I stuffed em up, made a head and embellished him and he was done. I thought he turned out kinda cute.
Here are the babies on Halloween - a ghostbuster and a fairy princess! Love these two to pieces.

Moving right along, Mr. Precious and our daughter rode the train to New York City for the day and came back on the dinner train. They do that ever now and then. I love to go too but just can't do all of the walking like they do.

Mr. Precious' birthday is November 15th and he has made it a tradition to run on his birthday. Our daughter tries to join his. They both have those shapely running legs! :) I'm so proud of him at 73 years old he is doing so well.
We attended Campie's Thanksgiving Feast at his little preschool - First Friends.

Here's Carter showing off her hair. That gal has the thickest head of hair! She always manages to sneak upstairs and mess with my minis.

On Thanksgiving they my son-in-law, daughter and Mr. Precious participated in The Turkey Trot run! I stayed nice and toasty inside while watching my babies. Celebrating Thanksgiving and my birthday I forgot to take any more pictures! Believe me it was fun.

I'm seeing that so many of you are getting your Christmasing on. Well, I can't do any Christmasing at the moment as I can't stop stitching!!
I know you're all thinking Christmas but I wanted to show you some of my Fall pieces I've done. Isn't this a cute piece?
Here's another and it's a tiny one. I have patterns for the other seasons in this line.

This is one of my favorites but in my hurridness to get it fixed to display I goofed!! I didn't allow any border on the right size!! That's terrible. I couldn't fix it so I added a trim close to the left side to try and distract a little from my goofness! Anyway, I'm attaching some of my pieces to little pieces of sheet metal with magnets. I learned this from my friend Priscilla. She is the cross stitch and cross stitch finisher queen. If you haven't seen her marvelous work go here and tell her I sent you.
I thought this one turned out sweet! Love the lambie pie!

This little piece is one of a series called Cottage of the Month. There's a pattern for each month. I've worked a few of these already. Love these little designs too.
This piece is just darling. I did frame this one behind glass because I wanted to have it out all of the time. Look at the little doggie!

I worked this last spring. I found the pattern on Pinterest and just fell in love with it. It's behind glass too. I guess you don't have to guess I love to cross stitch. My minis are put on hold for now.
With Christmas just around the corner, I started this little sweet piece. I mess up a lot. I get off a few squares sometimes and usually use my own colors instead of the colors suggested. Here is some more of my goofed upness again. See that deer? Well, I thought I'd be so cute and smart and use a variegated thread and you can see how funky it turned out. But I didn't want to rip it out so it stays.
Oh, and this little one. I'm working on some little ornies for somewhere? and stitched this. Isn't it so cute? Look at that look on Santie's face!
I did get the tree up, lighted and decked out. I think it needs some ribbons or something else poked on it but I can't think about that right now as I must get back to my stitching.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

You Can't Hurry Love

I need love, love
To ease my mind
I need to find, find someone to call mine
But mama said

You can't hurry love
No, you just have to wait
She said love don't come easy
It's a game of give and take

You can't hurry love
No, you just have to wait
You got to trust, give it time
No matter how long it takes

But how many heartaches
Must I stand before I find a love
To let me live again
Right now the only thing
That keeps me hangin' on
When I feel my strength, yeah
It's almost gone
I remember mama said:

You can't hurry love
No, you just have to wait
She said love don't come easy
It's a game of give and take

How long must I wait
How much more can I take
Before loneliness will cause my heart
Heart to break?

No I can't bear to live my life alone
I grow impatient for a love to call my own
But when I feel that I, I can't go on
These precious words keeps me hangin' on
I remember mama said:

You can't hurry love
No, you just have to wait
She said love don't come easy
It's a game of give and take

You can't hurry love
No, you just have to wait
She said trust, give it time
No matter how long it takes

No, love, love don't come easy
But I keep on waiting
Anticipating for that soft voice
To talk to me at night
For some tender arms
To hold me tight
I keep waiting
I keep on waiting
But it ain't easy
It ain't easy
But mama said:

You can't hurry love
No, you just have to wait
She said to trust, give it time
No matter how long it takes

You can't hurry love..

  17. So glad to see a post from you. My computer is needs to be replaced so I am not on it much.

happy belated birthday. My cousin who is 2 weeks younger than me had a birthday the day before Thanksgiving, some years hers falls on Thanksgiving. My granddaughter's April birthday is on Easter some years.
All your stitching is so pretty. I just got a new cross stitch magazine with some cute Christmas designs.

I spent a week pulling out boxes and decorating for Christmas. I put up 2 trees and put my village out for the first time in several years. On gloomy, wintery looking days I love to turn the tree lights on.
