The Living Room!

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, I've been having such fun working on furniture for my little 1:16 scale dollhouse. You've seen the little sofa I made but I added a little trim to spiff it up a bit.
Tadah!! I've really got to learn how to photograph inside a miniature house better but here it is. I did add wood trims to my little windows. Since I added my floors I can't open the front door! Oh no! Well, I'm thinking I just may add a little fireplace in front of the door. That'll work.

I made a couple of little club chairs. The one on the left has a bottom cushion that's too low. Shh...don't tell any one! :) I also made little throw pillows.

I also made a little side chair and half moon table.
I made a couple of end tables out of Popsicle sticks. I'm impatient and just use hot glue and you can see it too!
I  had to have a little coffee table and went to town making one. As you can see I'm not trying to create realism just cuteness. Cuteness is much easier to achieve.
Here are all of my little pieces together and the tables are all waiting to be painted.
Here's a few snaps for you. If you look way back in the right hand corner you'll see I added a little lace trim to the Strombecker lamp that I repainted.
There you have my little living room. There's still plenty to do. I need to make some curtains and the fireplace to go in front of the front door. Then I need to get some more accessories. Some of my 1:12 things work but most are a bit too big for this little house. Oh, I did paint some of my little Strombecker furniture. I didn't buy it for value but to use it in my little house. Now if I could just figure how to take better photos! I really don't like to use the flash but I did here so you could see everything. I'm stubborn enough that I'll figure something out.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Paint It Black
I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors any more, I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by, dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

I see a line of cars and they're all painted black
With flowers and my love both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a newborn baby, it just happens every day

I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door I must have it painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black

No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this thing happening to you
If I look hard enough into the setting sun
My love will laugh with me before the morning comes

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors any more, I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by, dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

Hmm, hmm, hmm,..

I wanna see it painted, painted black
Black as night, black as coal
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black

  14. Cute, cute, cute!!! You need to add a railing to that staircase, or the old folks (like me) will never make it upstairs to see the wonders you will create up there. Sally

  15. Well Shelia, this is just so clever and as cute as can be!!! I especially love the upholstered furniture you made; I don't think I could ever do that. I like the little white, floral side chair with green and white trim -- too cute. Love the club chairs and sofa, too. :D Believe it or not, I noticed that lace trim on the lampshade right away. Can't wait to see what you make next.

Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

    Hugs,
