The Kitchen!

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, I'm on a roll and wanted to share with you the little kitchen things I've made.
Now don't get too excited because my little pieces aren't made with wood but cardboard. Just good ole cereal box cardboard.
The kitchen appliances made with cardboard and a few little beads, buttons and such.

I also made some little cabinets to hang on the wall and one standup cabinet from Pop sickle sticks.
First I'll show you my little sink. I added a little skirt and some scrapbook paper as trim but really to cover up the bad seams of the cardboard. I made the faucet from a white wire I found and bent. The turn on and off knobs are little clear beads. I just drew a circle (not very well, I might add) as the drain.
The little cardboard stove. I made the knob and door handle with little beads and a tiny piece of wood. The burners are black buttons. I need to add the turn on knobs and maybe a little clock or something to make it look more stovey. I added the scrapbook trim again.
To sit between the stove and sink, I made a little cabinet. The little doors are stationary. I don't know how to make them open.
Here's my little fridge. I think it's my favorite. I used the cardboard again but for the rounded top I used about 4 layers of cardstock glued together and rounded it up. The handle is the plastic clip from a cheap pen from the dollar store that I popped off! Looks pretty good, right? The white border on the door is white cardstock. This door doesn't open either.
Here are my little shelves. The top right one is made from Pop sickle sticks and is to hang above the stove. Maybe I'll add a little hook to hang a pot from. The bottom right one is made from cardstock. Can you tell? I think you can. It will hang over the little cabinet. The bottom left one is made from Pop sickle sticks and will hang over the sink.
I also made a little standup cabinet to poke things on to.  Now time to set up the kitchen.
This is a long narrow kitchen so it's a little hard to photograph but I tried my best for you.
Here's my little cabinet and it's filled with jams (pony beads with a little round piece of foam for the lid), a couple of my little jugs I made and then a crocheted basket I made waiting for some raw onions or potatoes!
The fridge sits over in the corner by the window.
The stove is also in the corner by the window. A perfect place in case supper gets burned. Just open up the window to get the stink out. I bought some new copper pots and pans and they fit the stove burners just fine.

There's the cabinet doing it's job holding up some cake and something to drink.
Then the sink at the end. There's nothing in the upper cabinets yet as I wanted to make sure they were good and dry. Didn't want them to slide off the walls!
Well, shoot! There's pots and pans to wash. Is my work ever done?

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

I Think I Love You

Baa ba baa ba, ba-ba ba ba baa
Ba ba-ba baa baa

I was sleeping
And right in the middle of a good dream
And all at once I wake up
From something that keeps knocking at my brain
Before I go insane, I hold my pillow to my head
And spring up in my bed
Screaming out the words I dread

I think I love you (I think I love you)

This morning
I woke up with this feeling
I didn't know how to deal with
And so I just decided to myself
I'd hide it to myself and never talk about it
And did not go and shout it
When you walked into the room

I think I love you (I think I love you)

I think I love you, so what am I so afraid of?
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of
A love there is no cure for
I think I love you, isn't that what life is made of?
Though it worries me to say
That I've never felt this way

I don't know what I'm up against
I don't know what it's all about
I've got so much to think about
Hey

I think I love you, so what am I so afraid of?
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of
A love there is no cure for
I think I love you isn't that what life is made of
Though it worries me to say
I never felt this way

Believe me
You really don't have to worry
I only wanna make you happy
And if you say "Hey, go away", I will
But I think better still I'd better stay around and love you
Do you think I have a case?
Let me ask you to your face

Do you think you love me?

I think I love you
I think I love you
(I think I love you)
I think I love you
(I think I love you)
I think I love you
(I think I love you)
I think I love you
(I think I love you)

The Living Room!

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, I've been having such fun working on furniture for my little 1:16 scale dollhouse. You've seen the little sofa I made but I added a little trim to spiff it up a bit.
Tadah!! I've really got to learn how to photograph inside a miniature house better but here it is. I did add wood trims to my little windows. Since I added my floors I can't open the front door! Oh no! Well, I'm thinking I just may add a little fireplace in front of the door. That'll work.

I made a couple of little club chairs. The one on the left has a bottom cushion that's too low. Shh...don't tell any one! :) I also made little throw pillows.

I also made a little side chair and half moon table.
I made a couple of end tables out of Popsicle sticks. I'm impatient and just use hot glue and you can see it too!
I  had to have a little coffee table and went to town making one. As you can see I'm not trying to create realism just cuteness. Cuteness is much easier to achieve.
Here are all of my little pieces together and the tables are all waiting to be painted.
Here's a few snaps for you. If you look way back in the right hand corner you'll see I added a little lace trim to the Strombecker lamp that I repainted.
There you have my little living room. There's still plenty to do. I need to make some curtains and the fireplace to go in front of the front door. Then I need to get some more accessories. Some of my 1:12 things work but most are a bit too big for this little house. Oh, I did paint some of my little Strombecker furniture. I didn't buy it for value but to use it in my little house. Now if I could just figure how to take better photos! I really don't like to use the flash but I did here so you could see everything. I'm stubborn enough that I'll figure something out.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Paint It Black
I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors any more, I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by, dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

I see a line of cars and they're all painted black
With flowers and my love both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a newborn baby, it just happens every day

I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door I must have it painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black

No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this thing happening to you
If I look hard enough into the setting sun
My love will laugh with me before the morning comes

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors any more, I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by, dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

Hmm, hmm, hmm,..

I wanna see it painted, painted black
Black as night, black as coal
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black
