In Our World of Turmoil

Hello, Dear Ones! I know you are all frightened, discouraged and maybe a little bit scared by all that is happening in our world. I know I am. But regardless, I know my God is bigger than anything that's going on in this world and I trust in Him to take care of me.

Now, being the silly whom (?) I am, I always believe we can 'escape' to a fairy tale world and make believe. So I wanted to bring a tiny smile to your most gorgeous face today.

Once upon a time there was a lovely little farm outside of the village called Peaceful. Oh, what a perfectly kept farm it was too. You rarely saw Daddy because he traveled with his job so Mommy had to keep everything running by herself, her children and occasionally a hired hand.
There was always much to do. Little Sister was so helpful and loved to carry the freshly washed clothes to the clothes line so Mommy could hang them out to dry in the cool crisp breezes. There were chickens to feed, eggs to collect and hay to toss to Claribel the cow. Oh, and how could we forget to draw the cold water from the well every morning at 6:30 am??
Now Mommy had to really keep her eye on Brother because he would hide from doing his chores and run off to fly his kite whenever he could. He was a good boy but 'playing' always came first in his mind.
Every day was a busy day but in the evening after supper all of the family would gather round the fireplace and Mommy would read from her Bible and then all of the children would tell what they were thankful for that day. They always prayed for Daddy who was far from home. On this one particular night Mommy realized she hadn't seen Teenaged Sister since dinner. Hmm...wonder where she could be?
Well, that gal had sneaked off to stroll down to the village called Peaceful with her beau, Handsome Johnny. She had stars in her eyes and so did Handsome Johnny. Lord, have mercy! She had better hurry home soon or Mommy, Brother and Little Sister will be out looking for her and she'll get grounded for a month! A month without Handsome Johnny!
In the end Teenaged Sister came home early because she now had her eyes on Tall Browneyed Paul! Each day rolled along. The sun would shine and there was always a cool breeze. Lemonade was always ready to be poured into thrifted glasses filled with ice. Daddy would return home and he would be greeted with hugs and kisses from his family.

The End
Isn't this just about the cutest little plate you've ever seen? I know nothing about the make of it but saw two of these little plates at my local thrift shop and brought them home. This little plate really does tell a story, don't you think? Thanks for putting up with my silliness.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Our House

I'll light the fire, you place the flowers in the vase that you bought today.
Staring at the fire for hours and hours while I listen to you
Play your love songs all night long for me, only for me.

Come to me now and rest your head for just five minutes, everything is good.
Such a cozy room,
The windows are illuminated by the evening sunshine through them,
Fiery gems for you, only for you.

Our house is a very, very, very fine house with two cats in the yard,
Life used to be so hard,
Now everything is easy 'cause of you and our—

La, la, la
