Dear Ones, Mr. Precious wanted to send out a thank you for all your prayers on Facebook so I wanted to share it here too. He is doing so well and we thank you for your prayers.
From my husband, George:
I want to thank everyone for your prayers
and well wishes. They were definitely heard and honored. My Jesus is so
great! I had a stroke but the only effect was my vision was a little
off. It's believed this all happened possibly from a hyper thyroid and I
will see an endocrinologist on Monday for medication to treat it. I'm
doing great and I'll be back running my five miles every other day very
shortly. Again, I say thank you!
And I say - God bless you all and I send my love to you.
Dear Ones, I just wanted to put up a very quick post. If you follow me on Facebook you will know my husband has had some strokes. I took him to the ER Saturday morning after him being dizzy, seeing double and being a bit confused. To make a long story short they discovered he has had multiple little strokes in the area that affects your eye sight. There is nothing else - thank God He has has a myriad of tests and they have all come back with normal results showing no afib. He is in the neuro ICU area and they have been monitoring him constantly and still see no irregular heart rhythms. Just prior to all of this happening we found out he has hyperthyroidism and were waiting for an appointment to see an endocrinologist. He had another test this morning for his thyroid something with iodine. They told us it was possible that the hyper thyroid could have caused the heart to race and cause the stroke. They don't really know. So, they've inserted into his chest a Loop Recorder that will save and send data from his heartbeats to a cardiac place and if there is something irregular, they'll contact us and we'll go from there.
He is in good spirits and may get to come home this afternoon or tomorrow. We go Monday to see the endocrinologist and hopefully get him on some meds to get his thyroid back to normal.
I know I have so many prayer warriors out in Blogland and we would certainly appreciate your prayers. I know nothing is too big for our God.
Just know I love you all and appreciate you so much. Just forgive me for not visiting you for a while till things settle down.
You're all my sweeties,
Shelia ;)
Praying so hard. Bless you both.

ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteI suffered two occipital lobe strokes, the first on 12/5 and the second on 1/5. I had the loop recorder put in on 1/6. I lost about 80% of my vision, but can still do everything (to include needlework) but drive. Hope they are able to discover the reason behind the strokes. I will be lifting you and your husband up in prayer!
Prayers for both of you. God is GOOD and he is in CONTROL and he HEARS us.
ReplyDeleteThe prayers will keep coming from me, too. I know it could have been much worse from what you say and we should all be grateful it wasn't. But it's still scary and I really feel for you both. Sending hugs and love.

ReplyDeleteAll the best to both of you. I know this is all very frightening, but it sounds like your Mister is in good hands. The thyroid is a strange little thing that can wreak all manner of havoc in our lives. I have had problems with mine for a very long time, and the silly thing can swing in either direction, like the pendulum on a clock. When it goes into overdrive, it can indeed cause some serious problems. It is very good that he has a diagnosis, because it is very treatable. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOMG, prayers your way....
ReplyDeleteDear Shelia, I am so sorry that he has suffered stroke and having thyroid issues. This will be a journey dealing with thyroid. Eye opening how much the thyroid does in the body. Will pray for you guys. My husband and I both have no thyroid and take meds.
ReplyDeleteGod bless,
d

♥♥♥ Sending love and continued prayers.
ReplyDeleteContinued prayers for the very best outcome. Stay strong. Blessings and hugs to both of you and your family. xoxo, Susie
