I'm A Little Blue

Hello, Dear Ones. Again, after my Christmasing was put away my living room just looked a little nekked (that's naked from a transplanted Texas to upstate New York talk). So...
I'm just an old fashioned gal at heart and love my doilies! So I poked one down on my coffee table.
I grabbed a couple of candlesticks, a couple of books and a couple of Blue Willow pieces. The Blue Willow bowl is vintage and the platter was given to be by my parents in the 1980s.
I just couldn't stop there so I poked in some of my blue and white balls and said, "I'm done!"
Thanks for popping in to see me today. Well, now that I'm looking at this maybe I should take one little blue and white ball out of the bowl and lay it on the doily. What do you think?

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Blue Bayou

I feel so bad I got a worried mind
I'm so lonesome all the time
Since I left my baby behind
On Blue Bayou
Saving nickles, saving dimes
Working til the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times
On Blue Bayou
I'm going back someday
Come what may
To Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fun
And the world is mine
On Blue Bayou
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be
Gonna see my baby again
Gonna be with some of my friends
Maybe I'll feel better again
On Blue Bayou
Saving nickles saving dimes
Working til the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times
On Blue Bayou
I'm going back someday
Come what may
To Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fun
And the world is mine
On Blue Bayou
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be
Oh that boy of mine
By my side
The silver moon
And the evening tide
Oh some sweet day
Gonna take away
This hurting inside
Well I'll never be blue
My dreams come true
On Blue Bayou

  1. Hi Sheila! Feeling blue isn't so bad after all - not when it is in a super cute vignette! Jane

  3. Beautiful collection, the blue and white is stunning against the rust colors in the background. I'm using those colors in my living room right now too.

  15. Thinking of Linda R singing that song on my record player years ago, love them both! I say keep the balls in the bowl and if you have a blue and white little bird, that'll be cute:). I have doilies on my side tables in my kitchen sitting room, very pretty.

  16. Your blue and white looks terrific and I wouldn't change a thing, but it
s your house so you should do what makes you feel happy and good. Love the blue and white.

There is a Southern Restaurant in Social Circle outside of Atlanta called the Blue Willow and they have so many beautiful items there, reminded me of there.

Have a great rest of the week.

    Hugs,
    Mary

  22. Well, I don't know if you were chasing the blues away or bringing in a little blue sky, but it works and is lovely!

  23. The blue willow is gorgeous! I grew up eating on blue willow plates and my dear, little mother's home still has a few pieces on display. I love the way you put it all together to brighten up a dreary winter day!
