A Little More Christmasing

Hello, Dear Ones! I know Christmas is over but I was so pleased with my mantel in the den this year that I wanted to share it with you. Oh, we leave our Christmasing up until after the new year. Do you? I've read that some of you have already taken it all down! I just want to enjoy it as long as I can.
Okie dokie! Some of you may remember that a few years ago I made a gazillion little glitter houses. You can go here if you'd like to see my process of making them. Like I said, mine were little and when I would be out and see bigger ones I would have to buy them. So I've accumulated quite a few and they wanted to sit on my mantel!
I made this wreath so many years ago before I started blogging and it still comes out each year. It's actually two wreaths. One is just the Christmas balls and then a few years later I bought a larger wreath and sprayed a little white paint on it and then combined the two! I'm so talented like that you know! :)
So I started poking down little houses and my little 'icing looking' Christmas trees got planted in the neighborhood too.

I'll start at one end and show you my glitter houses. The little bitty ones are the ones I've made.
Here's the other side. There is also a little string of lights on a timer that come on at the appropriate time. Also that garland is so sparkly it looks like it is lit up! See the reflection on the wood? Cool!
I'll just continue and show you the shelves on either side of the fireplace. I had my Staffy's arranged with things and books. But I decided to take everything out and start over for my Christmasing. Dogs and glitter houses mostly and a few pictures of family.
The Staffy's were so happy to have a little neighborhood by themselves.

See? Staffy and glitter house love.
You know how I love olden things. I bring this little embroidery out each year too. I made this around 1978. It is still cute even though it's little frame is dented and scarred a little.
 Cute here.
Cute there and cute everywhere. Thanks for putting up with a little more Christmasing with me.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Day After Christmas

Here comes the letdown Christmas is over
Here comes the meltdown, there goes the cheer
But before we have a breakdown, let us remember
The light of the world is still here

Happy day after Christmas
And merry rest of the year
Even when Christmas is over
The light of the world is still here
The light of the world

Come January I’m ready for summer
The Super Bowl’s over and I’ll settle for spring
Sometimes we all need a change in the weather
But it won’t change the reason we sing

Happy day after Christmas
And merry rest of the year
Even when Christmas is over
The light of the world is still here
The light of the world
The light of the world
The light of the world

So take down the stockings, take back the sweaters
Take down the lights and the star and the tree
But don’t let this world take your joy after Christmas
Take joy to the world and just sing

Happy day after Christmas
And merry rest of the year
Even when Christmas is over
The light of the world is still here

Hope Your Christmas Was Great

Hello, Dear Ones! I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas time. We certainly did. We did have snow too!
The above snap was from earlier last week but the snow coming down was so pretty and I just had to share it with you.
Mr. Precious could not wait to get out and use his snow blower. He's like a little kid.
On Christmas morning, Mr. Precious and I slept in, I made waffles and we exchanged gifts. I had cooked the day before and did a little more for the family coming over later in the day.
Around 3:00 pm our little family showed up with smiles, excitement and gifts! Of course we had lots of gifts and goodies for the little ones. Each one got to wear a Santie hat and pass out the gifts.
Hurry, hurry, hurry! What is in here asked little Campie.

Dear daughter looking on. Carter showed up in her new robe! She was an owl.
Her one wish was for a Barbie Dream Castle. I think it was called Rainbow Cove. She was so excited when she opened her 'perfect' present, as she called it. What joy to see Christmas through these little eyes of love. The excitement, wonder, talking about baby Jesus and looking to find where the Elf on the Shelf was hiding. :)
I have learned to set a rather simple table when the little ones are coming over as they like to explore and get in to the centerpiece. Hey, paper napkins work!

I do pray you all were blessed with love and joy on this very special day. I want to thank you all for following along with my little blog. I love you and appreciate your friendship so much. Here's to a wonderful blessed 2017 with you all!

You are all my sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,

and wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom

Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Till ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,

A voice, a chime,
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,

And with the sound
The carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearth-stones of a continent,

And made forlorn
The households born
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;

"For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;

The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men."

Merry Christmas from the Little House

Hello, Dear Ones! Can you believe it is almost Christmas? I can't wrap my mind around it but it's about time. I wanted to share with you how the Little House is decorated for Christmas.
As you can see, the living room is small but I found a way to get that Christmas tree in there. The tree is a Christmas ornament I found and just cut off the hanging string!
And it's always nice to place your Christmas tree in front of a window so that folks can enjoy the sight when they pass by.

A few little decorations were placed on the end table.
A couple more decorations were poked down on the coffee table.
Presents are placed under the tree.

Of course Tang is ready for Christmas. She is pretending not to care that her packages are under the tree but trust me - she's already checked the name tags!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

I'll Be Home For Christmas

 I'll be home for Christmas
You can plan on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents by the tree
Christmas eve will find you
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
I'll be home for Christmas
You can plan on me
Please have some snow and mistletoe
And presents by the tree

2016 Christmas Home Tour

Hello, Dear Ones! I thought it was time to show you my Christmasing at Note Songs Cottage.
Yes, we have snow! I just love it but I was not going to walk out into it so I backed the car up down the driveway and took a snap through the window! Works for me. Well, come on in and let me show you around.
The table in the entry has a sweet Nativity on it.
My Christmas tree. It's been a bit dreary outside so my snaps are on the dark side. I wrapped presents last night and now I have lots of packages under the tree. I know that snap above looks pitiful with only one!

I have lots of snaps to show you so I'll try my best to be quiet.

Hope you've enjoyed my Christmas tour. I wanted to get a picture of the lights outside but it wasn't quite dark enough. We have two nutcrackers on either side of the door and little candle lights in the windows and garland lights on the columns and railings. I love Christmas time and have so enjoyed seeing all of your beautiful Christmasing! Be merry and always bright!  :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

Winter Wonderland

Sleigh bells ring
Are you listening
In the lane
Snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
We're happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland
Gone stray is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song
As we go along
Walking in a winter wonderland
In the meadow we can build a snowman
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say are you married?
We'll say no man
But you can do the job
When you're in town
Later on
We'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid
The plans that we've made
Walking in a winter wonderland
~ sung by Andy Williams
