I decided I would put together a little vignette on my breakfast room table.
Not long ago we kept our little grandchildren while my daughter and son-in-law traveled to Portugal. Guess what they brought to me? A Portuguese Rooster napkin holder! He's so ugly, he's cute! You know what I mean. Yes, I know, the napkins look gaudy against his red but that's all I had.
I didn't have a pretty cake to put under the dome of my Jadeite cake stand so I just poked a little Rooster under there. Roosters always work.
And...you know how much I love Milk Glass so I just had to poke a little dish down and toss in some apples, faux of course.
One last snap to show you! Have you heard about the photo poodling program called Dreamscope? Well, it's free and it's fun. You can piddle with your snaps and that's just what I did and just for you!
Okie dokie, I may have some withdrawals but I promise I'll post other stuff and and space out my miniatures posts. I promise! :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
The song I'm leaving for you today was sung by Patience and Prudence and I wanted you to see how young and sweet looking they were. They had the sweetest little voices and their harmony was beautiful. Look them up on Youtube!
Gonna Get Along Without You Now
Mm-hum, mm-hum, gonna get along without you now
Mm-hum, my honey, mm-hum, my honey
Gonna get along without you now
You told me I was the neatest thing
You even asked me to wear your ring
Then you ran around with every girl in town
You never cared if it got me down
Mm-hum, mm-hum, gonna get along without you now
Mm-hum, my honey, mm-hum, my honey
Gonna get along without you now
Got along without you before I met you
Gonna get along without you now
Gonna find somebody who's twice as cute
'Cause I didn't like you anyhow
You told everybody that we were friends
But this is where our friendship ends
All of a sudden you changed your tune
You haven't been around since way last June
Mn-hum, mm-hum, gonna get along without you now
Got along without you before I met you
Gonna get along without you now
So long, my honey
Goodbye, my dear
Gonna get along without you now

ReplyDeleteNaw, you are having lots of fun with your minis and after the recovery of your leg and your granddaughters health, you deserve to play:)
ReplyDeleteHave delightful day! Kathleen in Az

First time commenter here. (Is that a word???) I love your blog and have especially been loving your posts about mini's. You even inspired me to try my hand at my own mini house. My goal is to build my own furniture. Anyway, I truly love your blog and wanted to let you know that. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm so glad you commented today. Thank you for popping in and that's great you're getting into miniatures.
DeleteYou haven't lost me. I have been keeping up with your blog and I love the miniatures too. I just haven't commented because we have been running here and there this summer and things are crazy. I always love all your vignettes and everything you post. I love the song too. Haven't heard that one in years and I didn't even realize they were so young. (Or maybe I forgot) :-)
ReplyDeletePlease don't hesitate to post about your miniatures. I enjoyed every little thing! Summer is almost gone -- enjoy the rest of it! Sally
ReplyDeleteLove your roosters and milk glass. I thought those apples were real! Please don't stop posting about your miniatures. I love miniatures and am enjoying your posts so much!
ReplyDeleteI think your new rooster thingie is cute! ;) I want to go play with Dreamscope!
ReplyDeleteMary
I remember that cute song at the end! Sheila, I think your miniatures were just darling and it's your blog and you can post what you like! I love roosters any way, shape or form and your little napkin holder is adorable. I have a large rooster on top of the fridge that has moving parts...legs and wings move into whatever position you put him in...he looks like he could have come from Portugal too! Enjoy the rest of your week :)
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteI just love your kitchen -- it's so bright and cheerful. :) I also love the curtains you made for it. Your vignette is charming -- love all the roosters.
I think you should post whatever makes you happy, but I know what you mean -- I've published things that I don't think people were super interested in. Sometimes, we have to post what makes us happy, right?
Have a great week!
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
What a cute vignette! Still love me some roosters!
ReplyDeleteI take great pride in recognizing all (almost all) of your songs, but this is a new one to me! I happen to have a doll house and love the miniatures, so I understand your obsession. If you don't want to post about it on your blog, you can always get it out of your system by emailing me directly with your adorable creations! How I would love to visit you someday and sit and play!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, lovely back to basics vignette. I love everything you create big or small I love it all. Post all you want to share of everything and I'll be here!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day sweet friend. xo
I think the miniatures have been fun to see. Post what you want to talk about- to me that's what makes it fun! I like your new vignette! Roosters are always a great subject. The new napkin holder is cute. I was sharing pictures of Kiki with my sister. She mentioned wanting her own motorhome so I thought I'd show her yours for inspiration. I think it's a great size for her.
ReplyDeleteLoosing viewers with miniature posts? Say it isn't so! Doesn't everyone love minis?!? I think you should post what makes you happy. Love the rooster theme and the song! And, I look forward to seeing more of your little world whenever you choose to post about it. Crafting hugs ~ Donna =)
ReplyDeletePatience and Prudence? I remember them! And no -- it's not the mini posts -- we love those. I don't think you are probably losing a single reader apart from those on vacation! Love the roosters, too! Happy post!
ReplyDeleteShelia,
